What are your thoughts on these? Do you agree with these projections? Personally, I don't. 🤷
The odds for both Toyota drivers seem far too high to me (especially Trulli), and there is such a massive gap between Webber's and Vettel's odds. I see a similar discrepancy between Alonso and Piquet (regardless of how much worse Piquet might be as a driver). Furthermore, the odds for both Mercedes drivers feel quite low...
This is just insane. Putting your money on Vettel or Webber would be a hell of a solid investment right now.☕
Webber is actually a beast in qualifying, but he just can't catch a break during the actual races in Australia. Still, he’s hyped up to 500% right now. Honestly, as much as I respect Vettel, it’s going to be a massive uphill battle for him to outdo Webber on this track. That said, I’m pretty sure both of them will end up fighting for a top 10 spot in the final lap. Seeing one or even two Red Bulls up there wouldn't surprise me one bit.☕
Honestly, I wouldn't be shocked if Renault and Red Bull—driven by pure spite toward Bernie and Max—showed up to the starting line with diffusers identical to what Brawn GP is running.😬
The gap between Kubica and Heidfeld is just insane. Honestly, the whole coefficient on BMW is a joke.
Raymond Ortiz89 said:Look, if that actually turns out to be the case, then every single one of them is going to be running KERS by the second race of the season anyway.🤷
Yeah, right. Like it's that easy. Whoever actually nailed the tech and made it reliable will have it on their car 😉 but the ones who failed to develop it or ended up with unreliable junk? They won't be using it anytime soon, just wait and see. ☕
Raymond Ortiz89 said:Look, that’s one thing entirely, but what I’m actually getting at is how much of a gap they’ll really put between themselves and the rest of the field—and whether or not they can actually pull it all together and make it work when it counts.
You can't exactly measure KERS during testing😉 because its real strength isn't about shaving a tenth off a single flying lap. It's about having the power to blast past a faster car on track when you need to. That’s a massive advantage you just can't quantify in seconds during practice. We all know if you get stuck in traffic coming out of the pits, you're screwed. If you're stuck behind someone like Jarno Trulli, you're losing time. But with KERS, you should be able to clear him in the same lap while everyone else is still struggling behind for another three or four laps, dropping 5 to 10 seconds in the process. That’s where the real edge is.☕
Looks like the Red Bull doesn't actually have KERS 🤷. Either Webber is playing coy or they really don't have it. Honestly, I guess we just have to trust Newy knows what he's doing.😕
Raymond Ortiz89 said:Look, I’m not buying that. It’s not all doom and gloom. If things were actually that bad, why would we even bother watching?
I think you're wrong. Amazon and Bernie are freaking out right now.😉 They're absolutely terrified of the FIA, and honestly, they should be. For once, the teams are actually on the same page, and they couldn't care less what those two think. Just look at how fast they nuked that championship rule. Bernie didn't even try to play the lobbyist game or go door-to-door collecting signatures from the teams. Now, the old guard is going to try and pit the teams against each other to see if they can sneak their "brilliant" ideas through again. It's the perfect opening for them. I just really hope they fail.🙂
Amanda Kelly said:Betting sites have Alonso and Button sitting at the top of the odds. Sure, a five-to-one payout looks pretty on paper, but that doesn't change the reality: looking at the way they're running, General Motors is clearly the favorite here.
Wait, doesn't Red Bull have that General Motors KERS in their engine too? It’d be good to have someone else out there testing it—assuming they've got the budget to spare, of course.
It feels like Force India is basically just a McLaren clone, at least when you look at the main mechanical components.
I think it's...😁 So, I'm counting on Vettel to take the win over Alonso.☕
I really hope BMW gets that KERS working. It would be absolutely hilarious watching Nick Heidfeld just wash out and slide all over the track while trying to keep up with the competition.👍I just feel bad that we don't have Coltard or Sato anymore. My god, what a show that would be—watching one of those two dive into the start at full throttle and slam straight into the rear end of the guy in front of them.🤣 What are those little cars in the amusement park even doing?🤣
Can't wait. My head is stuck on loop just thinking, "Is it Friday yet?"😢"
Raymond Ortiz89 said:Look, maybe. We'll just have to wait and see.🤷
There's nothing left to speculate on. It all boils down to how Toyota, Williams, and Brown GP perform. If they end up behind Ferrari, BMW, McLaren, and Renault, then nobody cares—nothing changes. But if they somehow jump ahead of any of those heavy hitters? 🙄Then we've got ourselves a problem. And if by some miracle they land on the podium or actually win a race? ☕Then all hell breaks loose.
2009 Australian Grand Prix winner: Sebastian Vettel 👋☕
Qualifying results:
1. Webber 2. Vettel 3. Rubens 4. Button 5. Rosberg 6. Trulli 7. Alonso 8. Nakajima 9. Nelson Piquet 10. David Coulthard😲🤣😂 No clue why, but let's see if he pulls it off 😬
Give credit where it's due, Renault clearly has some serious pace. I was kidding myself—fuel load doesn't even seem to matter; the fact remains that Renault can put together an incredible qualifying lap. But let’s be real: Brawn GP is consistently dropping blistering laps. They’re basically hovering around 1.19 the whole time, dipping into the 1.18s too, which tells me they're going to be a nightmare in the race. They can stay at the front or right up there, and their reliability is actually insane. Every single test session, they're clocking the most laps without a single hiccup. It looks like Brawn accidentally stumbled upon the perfect setup and built a phenomenal car.☕
Bottom line? I think the CEOs and Managers over at Honda are going to commit collective Harakiri after Australia. 😬
darkmarlin16 said:There’s only one, and you won't see anything like it again.
The legend, Fernando Alonso.
The myth that Brawn GP was some kind of invincible juggernaut? Yeah, officially busted.
Oh, right. I totally forgot that Fernando Alonso was running on basically nothing—like, 0.03 liters of fuel left in the car. My bad.🤣 It’s a miracle they didn't have to tow him straight to the Box after a time like that.😁
Renault is looking painfully slow compared to Brawn GP. 😉 Probably both Ferrari and BMW, but we'll see about the rest.☕ BGP is consistently cranking out fast laps while Renault can barely manage one decent lap all day long.
The people who only care about the money are clearly freaking out right now☕
Some "lunatic" like me, who actually put money down on a JPMorgan Chase constructors' title or a driver's championship before this happened, could be looking at a massive payday
It would be a pretty wild way to end the season—a double Red BullRB😬
Honestly, the whole thing smells fishy to me. It looks like one big calculated play. Brawn built an absolute beast of a car, and once he realized he had a winner on his hands, he probably started leaning on the higher-ups at Honda. Those clueless managers, terrified of losing their jobs during a supposed "crisis," likely jumped at the chance to cut ties and save their own skins by killing the Formula 1 project entirely. Brawn knew damn well that finding a billionaire to buy out a struggling team was a long shot, so he played the waiting game until the very last second. In the end, he snatched up his own team for peanuts, leaving those same Honda executives absolutely livid.☕
The whole birth of Brawn GP feels like a total setup to me.☕
Red Bull beats Renault - faster and better than the Renault engine😬 Brawn GP beats McLaren Mercedes - faster and better than the McLaren Mercedes🤣 Williams beats Toyota - faster and better than the Toyota engine😁
If all this actually happens...🎉 😈
Scuderia Toro Rosso beats Ferrari - faster and better than Ferrari🤣
Then we've seen everything. We'd have seen it all, and there couldn't be a bigger spectacle if we wanted one.😍
Bernie and Max, if you're reading this, hear our prayer:🙂 if it doesn't happen on the track, settle it at the Green Table.😬
mistybear87 said:There’s all this chatter on the forums about how Brawn GP is running an illegal car—claiming it's underweight just to bait sponsors, and all that nonsense...
Personally, I'm just thinking... when is this Melbourne race finally happening? I need to see who actually has the goods. ☕
Everyone’s talking about Brawn GP, but this is easily the best quote I've seen yet:🤣
Thank God that Brawn GP didn't manage to lure Fernando Alonso. We would hear no end of his magic abilities now. 🤣😂😬
And a few more for good measure:
Ferrari technician: "They are one second faster than us. It can't be real." Flavio Briatore: "When I arrived here I was still optimistic as far as our chances are concerned. Now I am not optimistic any more." Michael Schumacher: "If they can repeat the Melbourne lap times which were set by Button on Wednesday morning during his long stint, Button and Barrichello will win the Australian Grand Prix by one lap advantage." 😬 Norbert Haug: "Team development has been ahead of the curve compared to the others. It seems to pay off."

This Grand Prix could be a total wild card. You've got a car originally built for a Honda engine, then they probably just slapped a Mercedes inside at the last minute. Clearly, the combo didn't quite click, though maybe it actually performs better than it would've with the Honda. Either way, back in the day, this setup used to absolutely tear it up.
McLaren running Honda power, and who knows, maybe now we'll see Honda running Mercedes power. 🤣
It would be pretty hilarious to see how the higher-ups at Mercedes react if the former Honda crew starts consistently outrunning McLaren using their engines. 😬

I don't even know what to make of this, but either Brawn GP is hunting down sponsors or they’re actually insanely fast.🤷
Man, how did things go south so fast? McLaren might actually end up being the backmarkers on the grid.😢 Sure, these are just tests, but they feel totally different from anything we've seen before. These are brand new cars, everyone's out there testing at once, and I highly doubt anyone is playing games or hiding their true pace. Testing isn't what it used to be—everything's been scaled back. You get fewer sessions and fewer miles, so you have to give it everything right now or you're screwed. There's no going back to fix it later.☕
