Roger Wright94 said:To be fair, were those the lead drivers or the second drivers out there today? 😁

You also forgot to mention the mechanical issues for Red Bull. But hey, I guess that's fine after 60 laps.

aha, the second drivers, obviously.🤣

1. Glock Toyota 1:33.501 82
2. Massa Ferrari 1:33.615 98
3. Kubica BMW Sauber 1:33.702 9

same exact thing here 😬

Here it is 👍

Today's Lap 1 results 👋

Pos Driver Team Time Laps
1. Sebastien Buemi Toro Rosso-Ferrari (B) 1:19.660 104
2. Sebastian Vettel Red Bull-Renault (B) 1:22.177 61
3. Nico Hulkenberg Williams-Toyota (B) 1:22.443 82
4. Heikki Kovalainen McLaren-Mercedes (B) 1:22.643 58
5. Nelson Piquet Renault (B) 1:23.313 35

Toro Rosso is the only one running last year's car, so once the next Red Bull hits the track, Vettel’s going to be sitting ahead of Renault, Williams, and McLaren all season long. Real talent shows early. 😁

The only thing I can't figure out is if it was actually dry or raining. 🤷

Other than that, there are some other interesting numbers here.

1. Timo Glock Toyota 1:33.501 82
2. Felipe Massa Ferrari 1:33.615 98
3. Robert Kubica BMW Sauber 1:33.702 95

Toyota isn't exactly anything to write home about. 😉

I think they're making a massive mistake too. It's going to be a wild ride.

Look, they got burned hard on Vettel last year. They really did.😬

That’s why they aren't playing games this season.

As for Webber, he's definitely not some superstar, even if I think Vettel still edges him out—though probably not by a factor of four.😲 I'm not exactly an optimist myself.🤣

They must be lurking on Reddit or checking out this thread: View on reddit 😁

The RB5 is just built different 🙂

👋👋👋 I’m dying to see Sebastian Vettel tear the field apart at Monza again🙏🙏🙏

Honestly, it feels like there’s actually enough fight in the pack this year.👍

If you’re looking to place bets, head down to BetMGM now. This kid is winning the title, 100%.☕

Lap time data
1. Buemi Red Bull-Ferrari (B) 1:27.987 128
2. Rosberg Williams-Toyota (B) 1:29.729 143
3. Hamilton McLaren-Mercedes (B) 1:30.242 81
4. Glock Toyota (B) 1:30.878 63
5. Alonso Renault (B) 1:31.743 84

Don't give me those numbers. Vettel wasn't even driving, so it doesn't count. 😬

But seriously, I think it’s high time Ferrari retires Kimi and finds someone fresh. Just look at the Mugello numbers:

Mugello Circuit - Italy 21 January 2009
Pos. Driver Team Tires Time Laps
1 F. Massa Ferrari Bridgestone 01:33.353 104

Mugello Circuit - Italy 20 January 2009
Pos. Driver Team Tires Time Laps
1 K. Räikkönen Ferrari Bridgestone 01:33.920 42

Mugello Circuit - Italy 19 January 2009
Pos. Driver Team Tires Time Laps
1 K. Räikkönen Ferrari Bridgestone 01:34.430 54

It's pretty obvious Massa is still way faster than Kimi.🙄

😁Man, I am loving this idea.🙏 I’m just hoping it applies to everyone else on the grid too—specifically, I hope it rains during every single race this season. 🙂

Obviously, if all my wishes come true, we already know who's taking home the championship. 👋

But the rear end looks weird—it’s a total departure from the usual design.

P.S. mistybear87, if this image is too huge, just shrink it down. I have no clue how to work this stuff🤷 or if it isn't, maybe explain how to resize an image or just use a smaller one with a link.🤷

electricwolf14 said:General Motors looks like a total eyesore,while Ford definitely has the best-looking car🙏🙏

General Motors is actually even uglier than that ☕

Ford used to be ugly and they're still stuck with it. As long as they use that hideous Ford red, the car is going to look bad regardless of the actual design or shape.😬

P.S. Go ahead and get mad🙂,but hey, I'm just calling it like I see it.😁

And watch that rear end width. General Motors tucked something weird in there; there's no way Hybrid technology takes up that much room...

Look, there's definitely something fishy going on with General Motors and their Hybrid technology. It's pretty obvious General Motors cooked up something incredibly powerful.😉 Red Bull was one of the first to develop Hybrid technology—they probably even finished it and ran several tests. Then, after all that, General Motors offered them their system along with their engines. So, after dumping a mountain of cash into their own Hybrid technology, Red Bull just tossed it all in the trash and decided to go with General Motors's Hybrid technology instead. I don't know about you, but that smells suspicious to me.😁

Plus, General Motors was playing around with using exhaust gases to warm up the tires, or so I heard. 🤔Maybe that's what they've crammed in back there.🤷
2009 Car Reveal in Formula 1 ·
I honestly thought General Motors had managed to design the ugliest car in history, but man, 😲 they actually managed to outdo themselves by a mile. 😬 This thing is definitely going down in the record books as the all-time winner for looking absolutely hideous. 🤣 And hey, if it turns out to be as fast as it is ugly, 😍 then the season is basically over—driver and constructor titles decided right now. 🙏🙏🙏

🤣Sure, think whatever you want—if that’s how it looks to you, feel free to buy me a beer😬 but seriously, Tiger Woods just has the best colors, and that car from last year's testing? Still the best looking thing on the grid.😁

I'm calling it now:
Williams will definitely have the best-looking car🙏 even if they aren't 🙏as fast as they used to be.🙏 My gut tells me the championship fight looks like this:🙏
The Top Dogs:
Williams, Renault, Red Bull
👋 Mid-fielders:
Toyota, BMW, Honda, STR

The Basement:
Force India,
Ferrari,
McLaren🙂 😬

steelviper43 said:They say it’s all just a massive pack of Italian drivers, and honestly, that’s how the whole Formula 1 scene operated back around 1990 too. Only difference is, back then, you could probably slide up to 80% of the total payout straight into the director's envelope.

Look, if you’re trying to shave down your profits just to dodge some tax, there are way more subtle—and cheaper—ways to do it. I don't know anything about that stuff, though. Not even a little bit. 😁 Sponsorship isn't even about the money anymore—it’s just a way to... boss He’s just bleeding the company account dry, then sliding that cash right back into his own pocket via some shady envelope scheme.

Look, I'm not saying we're off-topic, but we've definitely wandered into the wrong subforum. At this rate, they should probably just move us over to Finance or True Crime.☕

🤣It’s pretty obvious we Americans have that special kind of brainpower. We think we know everything about how things work, and honestly? We’ve got about 10,000 different versions of every single solution ready to go. 😬 If only our managers would actually make it into Formula 1.😁 That pathetic old Bernie would’ve ended up losing more than just his money; he would’ve been left standing there without even his damn underwear.🤣

We’re usually talking about the directors here, not the owners.😉 The owner isn't going to touch a deal like that. He’d basically be tanking his own reputation and his entire company. That kind of reckless move is only ever pulled by people who can walk away without facing any actual consequences.😉

Bradley Nelson2 said:Advertising a tax break? Please. It’s not like we're donating to starving kids in some third-world country who can't even afford a meal.

Every ad counts as a business expense, which makes it a tax write-off by default.☕

Plus, when one company gives another company total freaking love just to run an ad, there's always a tiny chance the CEO walks away with a little blue envelope under the table.😬
2009 Car Reveal in Formula 1 ·
Hold on, I’ve got a question here. If we're talking about the gear ratio being tied to the drive, like where the power actually hits the wheels, then sure, fine—but if it's fixed before that point, wouldn't that just crank up the RPMs? 🤷 Look, I'm no mechanic, but I am curious: is there an actual limit on the gear ratio, or is it wide open? 😕
2009 Car Reveal in Formula 1 ·
I'm a little lost here😕 so under these new rules, there's an 18,000 RPM limit, but what's the deal with KERS? Does that limit apply when KERS kicks in, or can the revs just fly past whenever it's active? I don't get it, because honestly, what's even the point of the system🤷 if you're already pinned at max RPM on a straightaway anyway. What do you actually gain from using KERS if you aren't allowed to cross 18,000🤷
