Oh, he's just *so* exhausted...
And totally earned that win, too—just look at how "exhausted" he was. 🙂😁

Just an Actor. A total hack...
Or maybe just a world-class Troll. 😁

Or maybe Vettel is just Superman. 🤣
Get this: after the race, Vettel pushed his car straight to the FIA garage, then took a casual stroll back to the Ferrari pits, and even wandered through the Bear garage for a bit...
then headed to the podium, practicing his hand gestures on the way. 😬
And wouldn't you know it? He didn't pass out from the heat or his "breathing issues" along the way. 🙂

Michael Jackson10 said:They should've waited until after the race to look at this with a cool head...

Exactly...
And that’s assuming they actually listen to both drivers first, instead of dropping a decision mid-race and completely wrecking the finish...

Even if they handed out a penalty afterward, people would hate it, sure, but it wouldn't be nearly as much of a disaster as this...
Because what they really did was rob us of a legitimate wheel-to-wheel battle for the win right at the end...

It’s not even about the stewards' call itself—it follows the rules, fine...
But man, they seriously lacked any sense of timing here...

With that move, Hamilton just showed how slippery he is...
First he's whining on the team radio demanding a penalty for Sebastian Vettel, then suddenly he's playing the saint acting like "seriously guys, this isn't okay." 🙂
Just like the drama when he climbed out of the car, acting all pathetic, totally exhausted, blah blah blah...

Basically, a total PR hack. 🙂
He realized this might bring him bad press, so he started the whole act...

Let’s be real, any driver would demand a penalty if their opponent did the exact same thing. If it were Vettel first, it would be the same amount of swearing over the radio and all that.
Only difference is Vettel wouldn't go around playing the martyr on the podium afterward. ☕
stormyviper2 said:Wait, how does that tire rule actually work again? Max got knocked out in Q2 but he's starting in the top 10, so does that mean he has to use his Q2 tires, or can he just pick whatever? It's confusing. Is it only the Q3 guys who have to use their qualifying tires, or does it apply to anyone from Q2 who ends up in the top 10 if there's a Q3 shebe? What’s the actual rule here? Because looking at the sheet, Max missed Q3 but he's starting 9th. -.- If he starts 9th and gets to choose his tires, he could be seriously dangerous.

Of course Max can pick whatever tires he wants...
Only the drivers who actually make it into Q3 have to start on their Q2 tires...regardless of where they end up on the grid (meaning penalties don't change that)

So basically:
Max picks his preferred tires
Sainz and Magnussen have to use their Q2 tires...
Magnussen obviously can't use his Q2 tires because he wrecked the car and is starting from the pit lane, which means he'll get to pick whatever tires he wants 😉

mellowtiger83 said:Punishing Vettel has nothing to do with anything! Honestly, the stewards are total idiots.

Ferrari and Vettel need to push back hard on this.

What a joke.

What kind of appeal are you even talking about? 🤦

First off, there’s zero possibility of appealing a steward's decision during the race. None at all...
If they had penalized him after the race, an appeal might be on the table, but that's not even the case here because the option just doesn't exist...

On top of that, an appeal wouldn't make any sense anyway. It's ridiculous to expect it, and the FIA isn't going to rule against itself even if they were dead wrong—let alone in a situation as gray as this one...

The only thing Ferrari can actually do is use their veto to block Warwick and Pirar from showing up to races. 😬
That would instantly boost their chance of winning. 😁
F1 Montreal GP: June 7-9, 2019 in Formula 1 ·
Let's see just how competent the folks at Liberty Media actually are...

If those three clowns acting as stewards have even a single brain cell left, they'll ban themselves from every F1 track on the planet for life...
How can people be this dense? It's unreal. 🤦
I don't even know who these supposedly expert stewards Warwick or Pirro are, but I'd bet anything one of them is a complete joke...

It doesn't matter if the penalty makes sense or not, and it doesn't matter who actually got hit with it...
It doesn't even matter who would have actually won if those three clowns hadn't spent the race acting like absolute idiots...
The real question is who would've taken the win, because Lujo definitely wasn't pushing his limits once he heard about the penalty...

But to completely wreck a race that was actually damn good—a race that was shaping up to have one of those nail-biting final ten laps we've been waiting years for—to blow it like this? Only total morons could pull that off. 🤦

And if this doesn't wake up the geniuses over at Liberty, and if it doesn't finally click for them to hire some actual professionals to referee the season, then I honestly don't know what else to say.🤦

Comparing Sebastian Vettel and Lujo's laps. Typical Ferrari performance at the end there..

Hmm...
It’s not just the finish. Looks like Mercedes-Benz is way better on braking and hitting those slow corners compared to Ferrari, while Ferrari clearly has much better acceleration and hits top speed way faster—and probably has a higher top end, too.
You can see exactly where they're losing ground and where they're making up time throughout the whole lap...
Missed qualifying...

Last time things went south like this was the Monza Grand Prix 2008 🙏🤣
Maybe it’d be smarter if I just kept staying pessimistic 😁
wiredfalcon2 said:Ferrari didn't even run the softest compound during Ferrari Practice 1, which explains why they looked so much faster. But as the track gets more rubbered in and clears out all that nasty dust from FP1, things are going to shift. Daniel Ricciardo was actually quicker in Practice 1 than in Practice 2, so he was basically just running long stints during the second session. If you ask me, looking at Mercedes and Ferrari, Mercedes still holds a 3-4 tenth advantage.

From what I saw, Valtteri Bottas was about 0.8 seconds ahead of Ferrari...
That’s comparing Bottas on hards against Ferrari on mediums 🤦

Not that it means much given how filthy the track is—those times are pretty much useless right now...
And don't get me started on the soft tire times either; Mercedes is going to be hitting 1:10 or even 1:09 in qualifying anyway...

Clearly you've got an electrical engineering background or something...
I’m single too, but like I said, I couldn't care less about audio gear. Thank God I didn't fall down that rabbit hole—if I had, my wife probably would've killed me. 😁

But here's some friendly advice: dial it back. 😁
Stop writing these massive essays (anyone who actually knows me will tell you this is hilarious, since I'm notorious for rambling myself 😬).

Look, I'm not calling unknown a professor of audio tech or anything, but he was basically the only guy on this forum for years actually talking about it, and you guys have swarmed him like flies.
Probably for good reason, but reading through a mountain of posts every few hours is exhausting.

Your posts are so long that casual readers can't even bother finishing them.
We just lose interest. It’s not that the content isn't valid—it's actually pretty spot on—but it's just too much.
So, I end up just scrolling past the wall of text and walking away with a totally skewed impression. 😵

Jerry Robinson56 said:...And if they actually want to buy something, unknown could help them out since he's got tons of experience....

That’s the point. Thanks for chiming in, because people like you are exactly why this matters...

See, this is the crux of the whole thing...

If I didn't give a damn about audio gear, and I actually needed advice on some setup, I'd go straight to unknown first.
Not you, not woobie, not anyone on Route 66, because honestly? I doubt I'd get a single coherent answer from any of you... I'd go to unknown. Period.
Even if I think he goes way overboard with those famous cables—and even if he'd probably just laugh at me for asking about them—he's still the one I'd turn to for anything else.

Maybe I'm wrong, but I've read a mountain of smart posts from him over the last decade. From the rest of you? I can't remember a single thing...
Because as far as I can tell, everything with you guys boils down to "my dad is tougher than your dad" and all that nonsense...
Just constant, relentless tilting at windmills about blind tests, claiming every cable is the same, blah blah blah...

Maybe I am off base, since for the last year or so I've mostly just scrolled past any thread that smells like "audio," cable talk, or blind testing. I just don't have the energy for the endless bickering that basically loops back to the same point over and over again...

What really gets under my skin is that you've moved this fighting to pretty much every other topic. Even the chat used to be readable, but now? I give it a wide berth.

Seriously, if you're all so absolutely certain you're right about these cables and blind tests—and hey, maybe you are—then why the hell is there still constant arguing about it????
Why on earth? Why the fighting, the insults, and the repetitive nonsense if you're so completely, 100% sure about it 🤷

You really have to ask yourself if the people showing up actually know what they're talking about.
I was gone for almost a year, so I can tell you—and prove it—that some of these opponents you see who clearly aren't experts don't have a clue about the audio sector or electronics.

Look, I'm not saying they know their stuff...
Honestly, I have no idea who knows what, and frankly, I don't care. It’s probably because, at its core, this whole audio tech thing doesn't interest me one bit...
I know a fair amount about cables in general (not specifically audio), and I'm pretty sure a lot of nonsense gets written about them, but not enough for me to feel the need to play the smart guy and lecture anyone...
And besides, why should I care about someone else's fun? Who am I to ruin their vibe...

But it's also a fact that before Megan Green72 and her crew showed up, nobody was even blathering on about cables or blind tests...
There was hardly any talk about audio topics in general, let alone fighting over them, insulting each other, or whatever...
I don't care who's right or wrong, but I can see this forum has turned into a total battleground over these damn cables, and it's already getting on my nerves...

I have zero intention of picking a side in this "war" of yours...
But man, both sides are driving me crazy, constantly bickering over the same old things for a solid year now across a million different topics...
In the middle of all this arguing that I just scroll past, I can't even find the posts I'd actually want to read...
Sometimes I just skip entire threads or the whole forum because all I see is arguing, more arguing, and then more freaking arguing. 🤦

David Parker93 said:Huge respect to Tim Cook for his effort and dedication. He could have been way stricter, but he chose to be a human being before being a moderator, and I respect him for that. I also get why he can't do it anymore; honestly, I wouldn't do that job even if they were paying me. 😁
On the flip side, I think the permanent ban on our buddy Route99 is overkill. If there’s no proof he was treating people any differently than anyone else, I say lift the ban.

You're saying there's no proof?
Maybe there isn't, just like you claim... but here's the reality: the AV Tech subforum used to be the most chill, normal place on this entire site...
Before you and Route99 showed up and started picking fights with the regulars, it was fine. Then, eventually, a bunch of others joined in on the chaos...
You guys trashed half the threads in that sub and chased away a massive group of people who simply didn't have the patience to deal with your constant bickering...

I'm not saying the crowd on "the other side" are saints, but it's interesting how there were zero issues with them until you and Route99 arrived...

I used to read that sub regularly for ten years straight, but since you two started clashing with everyone, I haven't had the stomach for it.
Personally, I don't care about the audio scene at all—I'd never drop serious cash on high-end cables—but I'm not going to yell at the people who actually enjoy it...

Now I'm seeing these "new" users popping up in these threads over the last few days—people I've never seen before, despite being a regular in the AV section. 😕
Why haven't I seen them? Because I steer clear of audio threads like the plague...
