I can't believe I'm actually posting on this thread, but I have to share that I haven't touched a single cigarette in three days now!
The first day was brutal, but I'm feeling pretty steady now. The real test will be this weekend when I'm out and about. If I make it through that, I'm treating myself to a pack of gum.😁
Is that connection between quitting smoking and gaining weight always inevitable?😁
I've been trying to track down something substantial from them for years now, but they're incredibly hard to come by. Even finding the standard Don't Fear the Reaper that everyone seems to own has proven impossible for me.
I don't have cable, so I can't download anything from the internet.
silentpilot6, I wasn't exactly expecting a bunch of hyper-masculine gods... But I have to agree on one thing: this movie is perfect for the ladies. There are just so many muscular bodies and ripped torsos... it's enough to make you faint.
Though I highly doubt Achilles actually looked that attractive in his original form... 😁
Ah... that scene where they're getting ready for the fight. Like when Brad Pitt is putting on his armor, and then they show the other guy.
Honestly, even watching them get dressed is sexy...
silentpilot6, missed you at the premiere😁 Doduše's piece, once the credits rolled and I saw all those camera-hungry people stuffing their faces, I realized I had broccoli with gorgonzola waiting for me at home. I thought about how they'd capture everyone rushing out of Hall 1, and honestly, I just headed straight home without even tasting the wine.
As for the movie itself... The fight scenes were fantastic. Brad Pitt definitely earned extra points there; he made jumping two meters in the air to plunge a knife into some giant's neck look completely effortless. For the most part, they did a great job with Troy—no complaints regarding the warfare. Since I grew up devouring those Greek myths and war stories, I had certain expectations. I won't say what, but Americans just don't seem to "get" Greek mythology.
There wasn't a single intimate scene or dialogue that actually moved me. Nothing really touched my heart. If they had given that much production money to the Italians, they might have actually created a masterpiece. I'm not saying the film isn't spectacular—everything looked great—but it left me feeling indifferent.
And another thing: it felt like they just showed up to camp outside Troy for a month. They deconstructed Odysseus's character so much 🙄 that it took forever to realize he's the one convincing Achilles that the fight is necessary.
In my opinion, Americans should stick to making their own Armageddon, Man in Black, and Godzilla, and leave ancient mythology to someone who actually knows the Greek language.
Anyway... the film isn't bad.
But could it have been better? It certainly could have.
I have a phobia. Honestly, who doesn't these days?😕
It’s a fear of hysterical women. I can't stand them; I'd rather run the other way. Actually, thinking about it more clearly, my real issue is with women who pretend to be feminine until they aren't, and then they just spiral into hysteria once the act gets boring. I can't deal with that, and I'd probably end up fighting back. Just a note: I'd only fight them out of a deep, desperate love for silence.
Don Vito said:Personally, I think Metallica is trash... though they might actually be a decent band if they just replaced their lead singer. He's incredibly irritating. It’s strange how someone owns every single one of their albums... weird.😠
Aha, ... I get it, I get it. You're actually a good soul who just wants to set an avatar as soon as possible, so you're playing the part of a little provocateur to get as many people with chronic nervous tremors as possible to reply to this beautifully crafted post. Look, it's not like I don't understand you; for instance, Mariah Carey is also completely tone-deaf.
Go to sleep and let me know when you finally upload that avatar.🙂
Laura Roberts61 said:I can't even bring myself to mention Nikola... he's just a repulsive guy... which is why Sane is such a shame... I know I'm being subjective here..
Yeah, I wanted to add one more thing... Vus is a total jerk.👍 👍 👍
Vus is a complete coward.😁 😛 But Sane is alright.
Not that it matters now that I'm getting kicked in the teeth. 😛
Warehouse worker at the university bookstore. It was quite an experience. You spend all day hauling 15 kg boxes and counting textbooks, pulling 12-hour shifts during the peak season. For three months, you see nothing but stacks of books. Then, suddenly, everything changes and $3333🙂 shows up in Jonathan Palmer's bank account.
