One of the upcoming procedures on my schedule is an "isotopy" scan.
Does anyone here happen to be familiar with what that actually entails?
Apparently, the whole process takes about three hours—they inject a radioactive tracer and then perform the imaging.
I was assured that it isn't harmful or dangerous, but still...😱🙄
I finally found some answers... I’m feeling a bit better now, though it hasn't been easy.
I have an MRI scheduled along with several other tests coming up. If only I had seen this specialist sooner, instead of wasting my time bouncing between those state clinics where they just toss you around like a ping-pong ball and insist nothing is wrong. One doctor even had the audacity to tell me my knee pain couldn't possibly be related to this. (My apologies if I've offended anyone—I know there are exceptions to every rule)
So, just a heads-up to everyone here: stop constantly picking at or cutting your ingrown nails. A doctor actually pointed this out to me once, and I realized I’ve been obsessively digging at it for ages.🙏
We shall see. Thanks.
I believe I opened a similar thread once regarding inflammation...
I am in desperate need of some advice or even just a basic explanation. To be honest, I’ve completely given up on our local community health clinic doctors and decided to see a private orthopedic specialist instead.
He wants me to run several more tests, but his preliminary diagnosis is "Arthralgia".
Honestly, I was in a total state of panic—especially after he had the nerve to ask if my husband was waiting outside while I was sitting there feeling like I might actually die.
He refuses to explain anything further until he has every single test result in his hands.🙏
And all of this because of one single ingrown toenail...👎 All these complications stemming from that...
Does anyone actually know what this means?
P.S. To top it all off, he told me not to worry as I was leaving the office...😢

Just listening to upbeat music...
Keeping a journal to get everything out... there's more to it than that...
And don't you dare give up on your dreams... keep dreaming... even when they feel completely out of reach.
Good luck, and hang in there.
And perhaps most importantly, prayer—it heals the soul.👋

Thanks, I’ll take that into consideration...... He already sent over a recipe, though he seemed a bit hesitant about whether it was actually necessary...
My lab results showed low iron levels, but apparently only within certain compartments. What does that actually imply?
The doctor mentioned I could take an iron supplement for three months, though he noted it isn't strictly mandatory.
Should I go ahead with it or skip it? Since the final call is mine, I could take it, or I could just let it be....
Can anyone help me make sense of this? 🙄
Why not try drinking your water a bit colder, perhaps with a few ice cubes? You won't end up drinking as much, but it’s incredibly refreshing... personally, I find it stops the constant urge to sip after that.
As for overdoing it, I have to admit I caught myself doing it too. I find myself mindlessly refilling my glass... much like how smokers constantly reach for another cigarette, I just keep reaching for my water bottle...
🙄
That’s just how it goes, Nathaniel
I felt a little lump for the first time, so I rushed straight to my doctor, only for him to tell me he couldn't see anything at all...
He sent me off for an ultrasound, where the technician gave me a look like I had just dropped in from outer space—she didn't say it out loud, but she clearly thought I was wasting her time.
It seems when they see your age, they simply don't take you seriously.
Even the professionals seem unsure themselves; just look at what darkviper5 wrote...
It’s always the same story: when you're young, you think you're invincible, yet it's the younger generation that keeps getting hit with these issues...

They really are quite ridiculous...
The general logic seems to be: if it doesn't hurt, it's nothing—which is total nonsense.
A colleague of mine, who was only 27 at the time, went to see her doctor specifically because she felt a lump in her breast, and it turned out to be cancer. It was devastating...
She ended up losing her entire left breast. To make matters worse, she had three kids and had just gone through a divorce right before the surgery.
She’s doing wonderful now, though; she finished her degree in the meantime and is healthy and happy.
Margaret, I can hardly believe it...
It is often suggested that women who have given birth tend to have lower rates of certain illnesses. 😲 😢
Casey Palmer5,
I appreciate the information and your understanding.
Look, I already mentioned at the start that I’m a bit of a hypochondriac, and honestly, I’ve been managing that for years now. Of course, I am fully aware that I won't catch anything just by being in proximity to someone, but I am genuinely curious about which specific types of viruses we're talking about. I know absolutely nothing about this, it's my first time encountering the topic, and frankly, if I have questions, I should be allowed to ask them.
Isn't that what people do when they don't know something?
If you don't have anything intelligent to contribute, there is absolutely no need to say anything at all. I stated quite clearly that I have zero knowledge on the subject and have never even encountered it before... I simply don't understand why anyone would find it so irrational to ask a question.
There is no requirement for you to respond, restlessdriver87
I’ve been a bit of a hypochondriac for quite some time now, but I am genuinely curious about whether certain types of cancer can be transmissible. Lately, I’ve been in very close contact with someone battling leukemia, and I find myself starting to spiral into a bit of a panic...
Does anyone here actually know anything about this?
I went through the exact same thing last year. I live with asthma and strictly follow my medication regimen, but back then, nothing seemed to touch it—not even my Albuterol inhalers or anything else I tried.
That was until my doctor finally put me on Erythromycin, an antibiotic.
I spent four straight days and nights coughing incessantly without a single moment of relief.
Regardless, you should definitely go see a doctor...
