Hey. Picked up some butterfly cake toppers at Hobby Lobby yesterday. They’ve got these really sweet pastel vibes—lots of blues and pinks—and come in a few different sizes. I’m thinking about adding some real roses to the mix too, which should look pretty decent, I guess.🙂
$30 for cookies, it’s just insane. Seriously. My wife’s friend from her local baking club makes enough for $13 per batch, and we're talking over a pound. So... I mean, our ingredients are top-tier, but still... it’s $30 a lot...
Benjamin Hill10 said:mellowridge, how many people are we talking about here, and just how bad is this gonna blow up in your face?
It's for about 130 people. The cake is actually a gift from this lady I know who does baking, so... yeah, I pretty much just need to grab some butterfly decorations or whatever else I want to put on top.
So, I finally sat down yesterday to nail down the cake details. It’s gonna be two tiers, square-shaped—probably a chocolate Black Forest on the bottom and maybe some light parfait on top? Plus, some butterfly decorations on top to tie it all together.😍
Sam Kim12 said:I don't think it's even in the gallery—which, honestly, makes me wonder why...😂 😂 😂 ...I'll upload a shot of the actual CD along with the original photo later tonight so you can all see the difference for yourselves.🤣 Now I'm just sitting here laughing at my own stupidity.😬
I think I saw your cake in some photos—it had all those different colors and looked like a stack of presents, was that yours?
If you ask me, it didn't look half bad. Maybe it wasn't exactly what you had in mind, but I actually thought it looked pretty cute.😘
Look, I’ve got a slightly different dessert dilemma than you guys.
I’m just not a cake person—honestly, I can't stand fancy cakes. They look great on Instagram, sure, but I really don't enjoy eating them.
I'm more about those warm cheese pastries, maybe some classic apple strudels... basically anything that isn't a sugary cake. So, picking a wedding cake is kind of a struggle since nothing feels right.
Any ideas would be awesome.
I used to think a Black Forest cake was decent back in the day, but does that even work for a wedding? Or is it too basic?
Grace Flores85 said:If it hasn't been 72 hours since you had sex, you still have plenty of time for emergency contraception. But if it's passed... well, good luck! Maybe try tracking your cycles a bit—like when your period usually hits and when you're likely ovulating. If your cycle is super steady and regular, the chances of anything happening are pretty slim. Just remember, an egg is only viable for about 24 hours, but sperm can hang around longer—up to 3 days, I think.
So, my periods are pretty regular, and I’m guessing there's a tiny chance I'm pregnant, but... yeah, I just needed to tell someone.
Honestly, the whole emergency pill idea isn't really my thing—we'd keep the baby regardless. I'm just saying, I'm not exactly thrilled because I've got other things I want to do first, though I guess there's never actually a "perfect" time to have a baby.
I mean, we're old enough to handle it, and the kid wouldn't miss out on anything—especially not love.🙂
So, I had a few drinks at my high school reunion, headed home to my boyfriend, and things got heated. Turns out the condom broke—we didn't even realize until it was already too late. Just a heads up though, it was the very last day of my period.
We’re actually thinking about getting married soon and are currently sorting out our place together. We want kids eventually, and we've both said if it happens, it happens... but honestly? I'm feeling pretty anxious about it all.

So, sounds like he's still around then? He's actually good?
I really need to finally get myself to a gynecologist for a checkup. (Everything feels fine—just want a full exam to officially make sure everything is totally okay).
Does anyone know who the best OB-GYN is in the area? Ideally someone covered by my insurance, but also someone who can handle everything in one spot—I’d love to avoid having to run back and forth to the hospital just for an ultrasound. I was thinking about seeing Dr. Mamuzic—supposedly he's the best, though pricey since he's private, and I heard the hospital staff isn't exactly his biggest fan. But, hey, I'm hoping to have a baby someday too.🙂
Marriage? Yeah, I'd pass.😁 My parents actually suggested taking out a loan for about $5,000—which they’d just give us as a gift—and then the rest would be on me, but...😕
I mean, how am I supposed to get land anytime soon? How do you even handle loans or find that kind of cash?
Mark Lee65 said:How are you even supposed to manage a loan on a salary of $667?
My parents really want to help out—so I could actually afford this now that I'm staying with them, plus they aren't asking me to cover rent or utilities or anything.
I mean, I try to chip in a little too.
My base pay is $667, but my monthly take-home is closer to 2500—$1000—and since my boyfriend brings in about that much too, I think we could probably swing it over maybe 5 years.😁
I should be getting a Božičnica from work soon, which is usually way more than my regular paycheck, so if I take out the loan in February, my three-month average should sit around 2540.00😁 (between a good Božičnica and everything else hitting my account).
Is there any way I can get a mortgage if I don't have a permanent job contract? Basically, I am technically in a steady role, but it’s all fixed-term. I’ve been at the same company for three years now, and honestly, it’ll probably stay this way for the foreseeable future unless I jump ship. I know people here who have been stuck in the same spot for 8 or 9 years without ever getting a permanent deal—they just swap job titles every few years while their contracts get renewed every six months or so, whenever the boss feels like it.
I could definitely handle the monthly payments, I just want to know if banks will even look at me given my situation:
Average net pay over the last three months is about: $667 I need roughly $11,000 over a 5 to 10-year term. I could probably get a co-signer, but they’d be facing the same employment hurdles I am. Fixed-term contract
So I went in for my laser session yesterday. I opted for the standing position, and since the technician mentioned my skin isn't super sensitive, she suggested we could jump straight to a slightly higher setting. We settled on 10-minute standing sessions, three times this week. Basically, I did it yesterday (and just to be safe, I want to make sure the results show up—maybe one or two sessions won't be enough?), so I'm heading back Wednesday and Friday, then dropping down to once a week after that.
Hopefully, everything turns out fine. My skin under my eyes is looking a tiny bit red right now—is that normal? It’s a pretty delicate area, so I guess that’s probably why. Everything else feels okay, though.
Also, this place is brand new—super clean, modern vibe, and really cozy. The staff is super sweet, too. For those with sensitive skin, the entry-level price is about $0.67/min, I paid $1.25/min for the medium setting, and apparently there's an even stronger one for $1.25/min. It’s not crowded at all, so you don't even need an appointment—you can just pop in whenever.👍
So, I was chatting with my coworker on Saturday about hitting up a tanning salon since we’re both basically pale as ghosts.
She just texted me saying we’re all set for five o'clock today—so, quick question... do you think people will actually notice if I go for just one session?
(I've got this wedding coming up this weekend and I'm planning on wearing this dress with a crazy high slit—total genius move, right?!) 😵 )
Eh, I don't know about that. You might be wrong there.
In my beginner class, I actually have a few ladies—not just the bubbly types, but some older women too, maybe around 55—and I gotta say, they really put in the work.
Look, Pilates isn't exactly the go-to if you're trying to drop massive amounts of weight. But you definitely get that toned look, and honestly, you just feel better overall.
