I was swapping out my thermal paste. A little blue rubber band 😁 fell out during the process, and I honestly thought, "Whatever," and just tossed it. 😁
Then I noticed my laptop was running way hotter than usual 😁. After some digging online, I realized how much that little thing actually matters.

I'm looking to order some Thermal Pads for an HP repair guide, but I'm stuck on which thickness to go with. Does the specific material actually matter?
The ones currently inside my laptop are this light baby blue, kind of like silicone rubber. I only need one single pad for this setup.😁

I was cleaning my Dell Inspiron keyboard the other day because four keys were acting up. I ended up taking the whole thing apart just to swap out the thermal paste.

When I powered it back up, everything seemed fine, except those same four keys right next to each other are still glitching.

I figured, whatever, I can live with it.

Then a Windows update popped up. I clicked to install it, got to the part where I needed to hit restart, and the laptop just died mid-click.

Now, every time I turn it on, it starts up normally, but then it immediately jumps into Startup Repair. It keeps looping through the process, but it never actually finishes because the laptop just shuts itself off again. What did I mess up?

I don't have an original Windows license, and the one I do have is currently back in the US, and since I'm in a different country right now, I can't exactly download a new one easily..

I even tried hitting F16 to get into Safe Mode, but the second I click anything, it shuts down on me again.🤡

If someone is allergic to costume jewelry, does that mean they'll react to gold plating too?

I have no idea why numbers are suddenly popping up whenever I try to type on my keyboard.

I mentioned over on page 402 that I managed to download Windows 7 from that site you guys suggested. Everything seemed fine at first, but now this "activate Windows" message keeps popping up. How do I get rid of that nuisance or actually get it activated? My screen is back to being black again...

Why was I trying to install a new version of Windows 7? Because over the last few months, this thing just started slowing down out of nowhere.

That’s exactly what I mean! That’s why I don't get it!
Even when I actually manage to get the install finished, I shut down the PC feeling all happy like, "Okay, I actually did it."
Then I wake up in the morning, hit the power button, and... just a black screen.🥱

I grabbed Windows 7 from that site you guys recommended above.

The size of that .iso file fits on a DVD easily. There’s even some room left over.
Besides that big external hard drive where I keep everything—which I realized too late would get wiped if I tried burning an .iso file to it, and I definitely don't want that happening—I don't have anything bigger than a 2GB thumb drive lying around at home.

I haven't actually used Rufus. That video you guys linked just isn't working for me—the download won't behave like it does for the guy in the clip, and the app just won't load on my end. Instead, I just downloaded the Windows 7 ISO, burned it straight to a DVD, and it boots up perfectly fine.

I finally got everything installed on my laptop. It wasn't exactly smooth sailing at first—no idea why it gave me such a hard time—but it's running great now.

Tried the exact same DVD on my desktop PC, but I'm just hitting a wall. Still nothing.
Staring at this black screen again. It just says "Bootmgr is missing - press Ctrl+Alt+Del to restart." Honestly, I'm pretty frustrated right now.
Does anyone have any suggestions😵?
