All three?

Seriously? Does a ten-year-old really carry that much moral weight? Are they supposed to have the same level of responsibility as two people in their 30s?

LoL.

Of course there is; that’s why he only received $10, rather than 300,000.

They don't carry the same level of moral responsibility as those two, sure, but they still share a portion of it.
It seems you're reading and interpreting things however you please.
Saying "all three" doesn't necessarily mean they all bear an identical burden of responsibility—which wouldn't be realistic anyway—nor did I ever claim that. We aren't in a math class where if you divide three apples among three people, everyone gets an identical fruit.

Yes, a ten-year-old needs to understand certain things and learn how to conduct themselves. As I mentioned, today it might be a teacher, tomorrow it will be someone else, and the day after that, a third party offering them money. It could be an adult or just a kid from their class. And is the expectation that they should just accept everything because they're an "incapable ten-year-old"? Honestly... really?

Do you think I didn't find myself in similar situations as a child, perhaps offering unsolicited advice? I certainly didn't think to pile debt onto my mother, simply because I knew that money was something she had to pay back, not something she could afford to lose...

That is simply part of the life of a child whose parents are struggling financially, and it is up to them to recognize boundaries—to know when they've crossed the line with $7.00 and a Happy Meal.
One needs to have a conversation with the child. There will always be someone willing to offer them cash when their mother won't, or won't provide "enough." Maybe one person offers enough for small popcorn at the movies and a juice box, while someone else offers a Pepsi and a large popcorn. To avoid being an outcast, the child buys the larger items, and then Mom ends up complaining about what some other kid gave him $5.00 and demanding the money back.

What is the ultimate goal here? To place the blame solely on the teacher? Or next time, solely on the other kid? No... we need to teach children not to accept money, or at least to practice a bit of modesty. It isn't that difficult. One can eat a burger without needing a Happy Meal.

You don't need to be fifteen to be more modest than this individual.

You make a fair point; one really ought to shell out a bit more and just grab a full meal deal at McDonald's. 😳
Why bother settling for just $7.00, when there is an entire thirty-dollar value sitting right there for the taking...

I suppose I should offer some sort of greeting, though the novelty of these digital exchanges wears thin with each passing year... It is all quite exhausting, isn't it? One spends so much energy attempting to find substance in a void that offers nothing but noise. Still, I am here. I shall remain... for now. kaže:
In one particular instance involving Josh, the situation wasn't even about a child borrowing money... rather, it was a matter of the teacher being summoned to provide funds to the student herself, based on her own subjective motives and assessments... quite a peculiar way for things to unfold...

When someone presents you with something entirely unsolicited, one might be tempted to label it a gift... though, in my experience, such unprompted gestures often carry a weight that isn't immediately apparent...

To expect a ten-year-old, who is simply trying to find their footing within a peer group, to reject the desire for conformity is nothing short of an illusion. It is fundamentally unrealistic... And quite frankly, these cynical commentaries suggesting that a child who lacks certain things should somehow transcend those needs to become some sort of "super" archetype? It’s distasteful, if I’m being honest. But I suppose that is just the nature of modern discourse these days...

She belongs to him... I suppose I should express my gratitude... though one wonders if such gestures truly change the fundamental nature of things... anyway, thank you. It started with nothing more than pocket change intended for a Happy Meal... and now, he’s actually demanding more... I suppose I should begin... though I find myself questioning the utility of such an endeavor at this particular juncture. It seems we are expected to provide input, yet the context remains frustratingly nebulous... one wonders if clarity is even on the agenda today. Regardless, I shall attempt to proceed, however futile that may feel... I have returned...

No, she was actually the one who offered him the money... With the added assurance that his mother would see to its return...It was a loan, not a gift. The child wasn't under any obligation to accept those funds... $10It could have been simpler, really... one could have just accepted the offer and opted for a more modest arrangement, perhaps settling for something under...$3.25But that isn't the point, and that is precisely why there needs to be a real conversation with the child, rather than just a meeting with the teacher... It’s a fundamental oversight. Now, she has offered him a way out, but next time, it might be a friend who extends that same temptation. And we all know how this ends... it will be the exact same story, over and over again...

You simply hand them your shirt and your credit lines, and suddenly you’re all tied up in knots. You won't be able to point a finger at the big banks or those private vultures and claim they just handed you a gift... even though we both know that money comes with a heavy price tag attached... one you'll end up paying back with interest...

It seems rather improper for a teacher to demand a refund when the student never even requested it in the first place... though, in fairness, she isn't solely responsible for this entire bureaucratic mess. One could argue that the fault lies equally with everyone involved in the third grade administration... it’s all quite exhausting...

@James Perez54, I honestly can’t begin to fathom what kind of friction you have with educators, but my own experience was quite different... I was fortunate enough to have such incredible professors—and even a teacher <3—throughout my schooling who approached their work with genuine care, attention, and immense professionalism. They left such a lasting impression on me that, even now, I feel a certain melancholy knowing I won't see them again or get to tell them just how much they inspired me. Given that context, all I can say in response to comments like yours is this:
👎To the power of two.

@Kimberly Robinson2, I think it might be time to teach the child that borrowing money from others isn't the way to go. I remember back when I was growing up, there were times my parents would scrounge together every spare cent around the house just to afford bread, so the idea of borrowing money never even crossed my mind. He's old enough to grasp these realities. If he was truly that hungry for something at McDonald's, $7.50 for a burger should have been plenty, rather than $7.00, especially if he understands his mother isn't working and things are tight. A five-year-old shouldn't be navigating these things...

I realize I’m just dropping this in out of nowhere, but... a ten-year-old child simply has no business playing around with fireworks.🙂
Looking for a specialist... in Health ·
Greetings

I am looking for a recommendation for a gentle dentist in the Washington, D.C. area... I don't particularly care where it is, provided they have a soft touch and are currently accepting new patients, as I have quite a long list of dental work that needs addressing😳.

I live in Sopot, but I pass through all of Brooklyn, downtown, Central Park, Dubrava, and various other neighborhoods... essentially anywhere, as long as I don't end up screaming in the chair🙂.

Does this practitioner over by Times Square take on new patients? And is it covered by Medicare?

You really can't go wrong with something like this—especially if the kid actually loves music and has a sense of rhythm to begin with.
I still have such great memories of stuff like this from when I was a kid—unlike those brutal ear training classes, anyway.

👍
Everything through play and song... I sometimes wonder if anyone had ever bothered to throw a kid like me into a program like that back in the day...

Bummer, I honestly thought they had stuff for even younger kiddos too...

I stumbled upon the concept and honestly thought there was a preschool with a curriculum like that... it would have been ideal...
but I suppose this works too. 😁
Personally, I find it a missed opportunity that we can't introduce them to music through actual professionals at such an early age...
No matter. Dad will just have to teach him how to play the drums instead... 😍

Roger Sullivan66 said:I started out in music preschool when I was little 🙂
If memory serves, I was totally hooked 😍
We’d learn songs while the teacher played piano or guitar—we just sat there in a circle singing along... we did choreography, learned basic notation, and practiced rhythm through games. It was all pretty laid back and fun

Later, once I actually started formal music school, I could play most tunes by ear—at least until I finally figured out how to read sheet music. I was on the piano back then

That sounds absolutely lovely.😍

Anthony Booth9 said:Are you talking about that one over in downtown Chicago? I’d love to sign my kid up, but only if some mom on here can chime in and vouch for it—and not the owner, obviously. 😬

edit: Just realized this specific place only takes kids starting at age 4. Which one were you looking at that actually accepts the tiny little rascals?

http://www.newworlds.com/
It seems quite promising...🙂
As soon as he turns three, I think I'll go try to talk them into letting him join... and then maybe get him on the guitar by the time he's five or six.🤣

I was wondering if anyone here has any actual experience with those music-focused preschool programs? 😍
I’ve been looking into them lately... they seem to offer sessions twice a week for about 45 minutes each, $93 which comes out to a certain amount per month.. it doesn't even feel like much given the cost 😍

I suppose I'll have to weigh my options. Though, I suspect all the trolls in this thread will just sit there laughing at whatever mess I've made once they finally hit me with a permanent ban... 🤣

Greetings.
I am aware that deleting an account is generally considered impossible here.
However, I ask that you make an exception for me 😬

I am a young mother who, ever since finding out I was pregnant, has been spending all her time on this Reddit thread. It has been 18 months now.
It is pathetic and truly tragic, but I have become a complete addict. My only hope for recovery is for you to delete my account.

I wouldn't have any issues admitting to my addiction (honestly, we're all human; I'm addicted to FarmVille too, so who cares?), if this place were actually populated by decent human beings. But it turns out—and you can verify this yourselves; just visit any single thread and you will likely see on the very first page how they tear one another apart simply because one parent doesn't raise their child exactly like the first one does—that this community is more akin to some neo-Nazi organization led by several Hitlers than a parenting subforum where experiences and advice should be shared.
It makes me sick, quite literally, yet I cannot seem to pull myself away...

About 70% of the women there (and 99% of this group are women) are utterly frustrated, hypocritical, arrogant snakes who have nothing better to do with their lives than wage war on everyone else to prove they are the smartest, that they know best, and that everyone must follow their specific life ideals. If anyone dares to disagree, they are immediately stigmatized as stupid or a bad parent. Of course, they refuse to look at the mess they've swept under their own rugs; they only care about what the neighbor is doing. They pose as these perfect saints—mothers who aren't even fit to hold a candle to the Virgin Mary...😍

Naturally, I don't bother responding to their constant vitriol because I am young, essentially a novice, and it is better if I remain silent.☕ No one ever offers a dignified comment beyond that. It is exceptionally frustrating. And if I were to tell them they are just senile old women with filthy mouths, I would probably receive a red card myself.

All in all... yes, I want you to remove me from them. Please, just get me away from them. You are the only ones who can save me. I fear that one day I will catch their arrogance and malice, and my intelligence will drop to their level. That would truly be a painful fall...😢

Please, preserve what little sanity I have left, which hasn't been completely eroded by their mindless statements, their judgments of the living and the dead, and their constant boasting (they must be highly esteemed in real life if they have to spew so much fire here)🤣

If it is at all possible, please send me a DM so we can arrange the details. I need to save my posts in Word where I recorded various data about my little one, as I think I misplaced my list of notes during a recent cleaning. I am a terrible mother, I know; I’ll probably go cry on Reddit so some Hitler can come along and lash me for being so foolish, if they haven't already.

To all the women on this thread whom I have spent months defending like a lawyer: I wish you much luck surviving this jungle. I am running away from here; I have had enough.

To all the women here who believe they are perfect, I say... well, guess what... you're far away from being perfect. Based on your posts, you crawled out of hell rather than heaven. Your mouths should be scrubbed with soap. Disgusting.

Goodbye.
boldcobra94, is it actually possible for ovulation to cause that kind of pain? It seems unlikely that anything related to pregnancy could be hurting you this early on, since the zygote hasn't even implanted in the uterus yet...
Kevin Evans2 said:Good afternoon to all the ladies, women, girls, and mothers out there...

I’ve been doing some reading lately and thought perhaps some of you might be able to offer me a bit of guidance. I have a few questions weighing on my mind.

I’ve been trying to conceive for about six months now—sorry, I should say it’s actually been longer than that—but so far, nothing. My period is consistently late, usually by anywhere from ten days to two full weeks. I’ve spent quite a bit of money on pregnancy tests, only to be met with a negative result every single time.

Right now, I am exactly two weeks late again. Honestly, I’m hesitant to even take a test because I’m so afraid of another disappointment. Usually, my breasts get incredibly tender right before my period arrives, but this time, I haven't felt that at all. A few days ago, I noticed a tiny bit of spotting—just a few drops of blood—and I thought, "Okay, here we go, my period is finally starting," but then nothing happened. Beyond that, I haven't noticed any other physical changes.

Last month, I went to see my OB-GYN, and she told me everything looks healthy. My Pap smear results were perfect, too. The only thing noted was a small, clear cyst on my right ovary that sits just outside the ovary itself. She said it doesn't require surgery and that I shouldn't worry about it one bit.

On another note, I experience vaginal discharge pretty much constantly. Is that something pregnant women deal with as well?
Also, does the volume of semen play a role in conception? My husband produces very little; especially during my ovulation window when we are trying every day, there is hardly anything left—maybe just a tiny teaspoon's worth.

If anyone has any advice or insight, please let me know!

Thank you so much, and best wishes to you all.🙂

Sigh...
None of us can give you a definitive answer, obviously; you know that better than anyone else...

It is entirely possible that you are pregnant, and it is equally possible that you aren't.
Those little spots of blood could potentially be implantation bleeding if you are indeed pregnant.🙂

As for the issue with sperm volume—if you aren't pregnant, the standard advice is usually to try every other day instead.😉

P.S. Pregnant women deal with all sorts of discharge... a whole spectrum of colors and textures.🤣
It would be more accurate to say weeks after the encounter🙂

Your girlfriend's pregnancy test won't mean much until roughly June 27th... there's really no point in wasting money on more tests or stressing over them before then

She needs to get that emergency contraceptive immediately, because it’s only effective within a 72-hour window after intercourse, and its reliability drops with every passing hour... if she waits too long, it simply won't work at all
feralpanther11 said:Look, dear, you are completely delusional. Both of you are currently unemployed and broke—honestly, being in your position right now is a recipe for disaster. How could you both be so incredibly reckless as to bring a child into this world without a single shred of financial stability or a plan in place? It’s pure negligence. And that is exactly why you find yourself stuck in this corner—you just have to sit there, keep your mouth shut, and deal with the consequences.
It’s honestly a bit tragic—you’re essentially letting the older generation hold all the cards, and they’ll likely keep you under their thumb for a very long time to come. I’d venture to guess you'll be stuck living under that same roof indefinitely.
Best of luck!

Listen, we were both just students with zero income when we had our child, and we refuse to let anyone else meddle in what belongs solely to us: our life, our choices, our marriage, and our child. It doesn't belong to them... and that applies to Tia, too.

If the parents want to provide financial support, fine—let them help. But if they don't, they'll have to figure it out themselves. Trying to buy someone's life and strip them of their rights is simply atrocious, and I would never allow it...🤷
What comes next? Is the child just going to be snatched away by the grandparents because they don't like how she's being raised?
That's just not how it works...👎

If we had actually submitted to our parents like you suggest is "normal," our little one wouldn't even be here today.

And if we had given in a second time, my partner would have ended up being a "weekend dad"—busy at some university in Chicago all week, if he even made it home at all...he might have managed two days with us on the weekend, maybe.

If we had submitted a third time, we probably would have been married by now! (Which isn't necessarily a bad thing, mind you, but I am intentionally avoiding it just so people stop hovering over me like I'm some sort of obligation)...

Do you see where all this is heading...?
feralpanther11 said:So, my mother-in-law—the same woman who, just six days ago, decided to dig up some ancient grievances and stress me out so badly I nearly went into premature labor—just sent me this incredibly casual text: "Hey sweetie, how are you doing???" Honestly, what am I even supposed to say to that? Nothing. I didn't give her a single word back.

"Well, it's certainly easier once they aren't standing right in front of you" 😍
The thread title is "Buy the test!"
I suppose that covers everything I had to say...😬
I am at a loss as to what else might belong here 🤷🤷
...
dustysailor13 said:Yeah, "not late" for someone whose cycle isn't even 30 days... okay, fine. But what did he actually see? I'm not crazy—I have the ultrasound photo right here, and that's what he told me. With my first kid, they saw the gestational sac on the scan by week 4.

It might be best not to dwell on it until your next appointment with the US Army medical staff🤷...
it could just be a harmless ovarian cyst🤷...
😕😕

Is there any chance you conceived earlier than you thought, putting you in that small percentage of women who continue to have their period for another month or two during early pregnancy?🤷...
