Quarantine Life in Coronavirus ·
I honestly can't make heads or tails of these isolation rules; everyone seems to be playing by a different set of books.
A colleague of mine tested positive, and her doctor told her she needs to wait ten days from when her symptoms first showed up, plus an extra three days symptom-free before she can head back to the office.
Then you look at her husband, and it's a total mess. His doctor counted twelve days starting from the day her test came back positive—even though he’s actually showing symptoms himself! He didn't even get sent in for a test because apparently, since he didn't run a fever, the doctor just assumed he wasn't "infected," despite him having every other symptom his wife has. It's like they're treating him as if he's just self-quarantining rather than actually sick. Meanwhile, for their kid, the isolation period was calculated as just ten days from the mother's initial positive test result.
So yeah, it's completely inconsistent. For the husband and the kid, they basically just started counting from the fifth day after the mom's test.

I’ve got a Zoely box just sitting here unopened if anyone wants it for half price... hit me up in the DMs.

As for why we don't get a notification every single time something gets wiped? Honestly, there just isn't enough time in the day.

Ugh, please. This whole place is basically a joke anyway, including everything posted on this chat... I haven't written a single serious post in my life. I usually just scroll right past that stuff... If I ever actually started posting serious takes here, I’d probably need to check myself 🤣
It wasn't even meant as a joke that the guy was a killer; it was more of an analogy—like how guys like that often end up killing their girlfriends because they can't take "no" for an answer. But hey, if it breaks the rules, my bad, I apologize and thanks for the clarification. 🙏
And regarding that comment on The Chase thread, I have zero clue why my post got deleted. I was just sharing my thoughts. 🤷

I noticed the exact same thing. Like, why can't they at least give me a heads-up on what I supposedly did wrong before they just wipe my posts? Same thing happened to me on the old message boards too... Just deleting everything without an explanation? Wtf

Is anyone actually taking Zoely? I can't find a single scrap of decent info on them online—I guess they're pretty new to the market. Even the instructions basically admit they don't have all the data yet regarding side effects... which isn't exactly comforting. I’m supposed to start them soon, so I’d really love to hear if anyone here has actually tried them and what the experience was like.
Thanks 😊
Alexander Thompson said:Look, if you’re dead set on having two separate accounts, they’ll set that up for you—just keep in mind they're gonna charge you for both... I guess. But honestly? If one multi-currency account does the trick for you, maybe just stick with that one and call it a day.

I mean, I don't think you actually had a clue at first—not really—but I guess you finally caught on. 😉

I actually wanted just one single account that handled two different currencies, but they wouldn't let me—they insisted on separate ones because their system can't issue two different cards for a single account, or rather, one card per currency. I truly don't understand what part of this I'm missing...
Alexander Thompson said:Well, sure, you get the card and all that... the account is multi-currency, so you can hold whatever you want in there, but the fees—including the monthly maintenance stuff—they all get pulled from your "primary" currency...

So, like, my main currency might be USD, even if I’m also holding Euros or Swiss Francs... but all the charges (PayPal, ATM withdrawals, random fees) hit the dollar balance. If you run out of dollars, you're stuck—you won't be able to buy anything even if your other currency balances are looking pretty healthy... and honestly, the fee is basically the same regardless of how many different currencies you've got sitting in there...

Look, I used to have separate PayPal cards—one in Euros and one in Dollars. Each account was its own thing with its own set of fees. I know what I'm talking about here. It comes down to the card itself; the currency is printed right on it. Why else would I bother having two different cards? If you try to use a single-currency card for a different currency, you're just inviting conversion fees to the party...
placidmaker6 said:That’s not right.
At JPMorgan Chase, you only need one foreign currency account because it can hold multiple currencies at once. That means they only hit you with the fee once—usually in whatever currency the card was issued in, which is most often USD.

That's just not true if you're looking for a card specifically for something like PayPal; you'd have to open a whole new account for that! And obviously, I need a card... I mean, how else am I supposed to grab cash when I'm traveling?
Honestly, the absolute dumbest thing about JPMorgan Chase is how their foreign currency accounts work. You can’t just have one multi-currency account; instead, they force you to open a separate account for every single currency, which means a separate card and separate monthly fees for each one. It’s such a headache. At the end of the day, a dollar is a dollar, or a euro is a euro—it should all just be under one roof.
So, I had this Euro account that I didn't even need anymore since I’d switched over to a USD one. I wanted to just shut the whole thing down, but the teller at JPMorgan Chase basically told me, "Oh, don't worry about it, if there's no activity on the account, they won't charge you anything." So I was like, okay fine, let it sit there—you never know when you might need it. Fast forward a bit, I check my USD statements and realize that for the last two or three years, they've been quietly bleeding a few bucks out of my main account to cover those monthly maintenance fees for the old Euro one. I absolutely lost it. I marched right back into the branch, went straight to that same teller, and demanded to know how she could pull a stunt like that. She just gave me some vague "I didn't know" nonsense and kept babbling. Long story short, I went off on them, but nothing really came of it. My personal banker eventually reached out, admitted the teller gave me bad info, and that was that. Honestly? What can you even say? Just another day in paradise.
velvetmoose9 said:Generally speaking, CRP spikes when there's bacterial inflammation going on (though obviously, a bacterial infection isn't the *only* reason CRP climbs). Your white blood cell count doesn't always jump significantly, either—sometimes they actually lag behind the CRP rise... It’s not always a straightforward case of 2+2=4 😁
What about a urine test?
Clinically speaking, what symptoms actually drove the doctor to order these tests in the first place?

Well, my doctor diagnosed bronchitis just by doing a physical exam. I ended up paying out of pocket for the labs because she never sends anyone for blood work or anything else; she just jumps straight to prescribing antibiotics based on her assessment. One time, she finally sent him for blood tests after two different rounds of antibiotics didn't work, and that's when the results showed it was actually just a virus.
velvetmoose9 said:Yeah.

I’ve been digging through stuff online and apparently even a standard viral thing can bump up your CRP levels. And then you’ve got cases where the white blood cell count spikes right along with the CRP during an infection. Honestly, I’m just totally lost here. 😕
The CBC looks totally normal, but the CRP is sitting at 24 (normal range is 0-8)
Is it actually possible to have inflammation going on if the white blood cell count and everything else on the CBC is fine?
Sandra Brooks91 said:It’s funny how you call her sister, tell her you’re in agony and having some light bleeding, and then ask when they can squeeze you in. And then she just shoves you somewhere because—hey, it's an emergency...

I told them right away that I was feeling this sharp, stabbing pain, and all she tells me is that she's keeping an eye on it, so just call back once they get home from the pharmacy.😁
Well, you should've just said, "Look, I'm calling again tomorrow to let you know I'm in too much pain to wait and I'm actually getting pretty scared," and then we'll see where that gets you...
Sandra Brooks91 said:Megan Wells8, you know how it goes with your primary care physician—you basically have to show up with a whole list of symptoms and reasons all lined up just to talk them into giving you a referral...
Lawrence Alvarez2, wait, is he really the only doctor available?

I should've been clearer, I'm talking about your regular OB-GYN, not some specialist visit where you need a referral from a GP first.
Hey everyone, I’m looking for a bit of insight if anyone’s dealt with this before.
What happens if my doctor basically brushes me off and refuses to schedule my checkup? Like, they tell me the clinic is slammed and I should just call back after the summer ends. 🙄
Do I actually have the right to go see a private specialist instead and then try to get reimbursed by my insurance? Thanks!

Honestly, when your provider sends over a new one, you just swap out the old one for the new one and call it a day. Simple as that.
What the hell is going on? in Forum Help! ·
So, what's the deal now? If I just ignore the warning and jump straight onto the forum, am I actually going to pick up some kind of virus or what?
They didn't even bump the prices that much, going from $4.25 to the $6.00 tier for up to 4 lbs... 🙄 then you've got doorstep delivery and if you actually need them to wrap it $8.25 it ends up costing a fortune! What a joke.
edit: honestly, at this point, it’s way more worth just using USPS Registered Mail if the package is under half a pound and valued up to $33, because that's only $5.00 and they'll still drop it right at your door in major cities like Chicago or NYC
