Yesterday the convertible was packed, and honestly, the restaurant was slammed too. But hey, being just a hundred yards away from downtown, you don't really feel the chaos.
PS In that movie with the lesbians starring Anne Hathaway and Natalie Portman, Anne shows some skin but Natalie doesn't.👎
I didn't make it out anywhere yesterday. Spent the afternoon tackling some stuff around the house and I was just totally wiped out. Honestly though, I'm betting it’ll be pretty packed today, just like it is every single year.
The new VFF kicks off on August 25th. I’m calling on everyone to show up again—it’s always such a vibe, huge crowds, and we've got some killer European films lined up along with a few from the USA 👍
I remember watching Elite trop there for the first time (can't quite remember if it was two or three years ago), and then catching Metastasis last year 👍
Look, I didn't actually call them sluts, but people just keep insisting on it, unfortunately...
Madonna is Madonna. Even if Taylor Swift from that local High School for Business and Finance was sleeping with ten different guys, she’d get that same label—and it wouldn't even be coming from the guys, it would be from other girls...
Maybe this sounds a bit chauvinistic, but honestly? I’m glad I wasn't born a woman...
Yeah, there are some perks. Just look at the Titanic or Katyn—men took the brunt of it while women were spared. And sure, nowadays women in the West are doing great and have plenty of protections, but let's be real, that's only about one-sixth of the global population. In most parts of the world, women are treated like second-class citizens, and in some places, it gets even darker with female infanticide.
When it comes to sex, things are even more skewed for women. Seriously, even an average-looking woman can find someone for a hookup way easier than a good-looking guy can—assuming she isn't being picky. Men almost never say no to sex, but then they deal with the fallout, which usually comes from other women rather than men. You know, that "slut" label.
The result is that women constantly have to lie or hide stuff about their private lives because men tend to brag about everything openly.
a) A guy sleeps with 10 girls—he's a player. b) A girl sleeps with 10 guys—she's a slut. It's totally unfair, but that's just how it is.
Because of all that, being a woman feels like driving a car with the handbrake on. There's just not enough freedom, even here in the States.

I'm trying to use (IMG)IMAGE(IMG) on a thread about historical maps—since I spend a ton of time working on History stuff—but it's not working. All I can get to show up is the link, not the actual image itself.

Man, I loved these things when I was a kid. Golden Gun,Pilot, even the newer stuff like Don't Be Cruel
Darkness movies were kind of this weird transition period where they went from funny to just gross—especially the later sequels. They finally hit rock bottom with Disaster Movie. Honestly, that one was just nasty, and it wasn't even funny. Not even a little bit... 🤷
Seriously, even rewatching Pilot recently left me feeling pretty let down. Like, why wasn't it as hilarious as it used to be?
So, am I being too harsh on modern parodies, or have they actually just gone to hell?
I'm really hoping this turns out to be a solid flick. Honestly, they could've just gone all out and thrown in the whole Hanna-Barbera roster, like Quick Draw McGraw and the rest of the gang. 👍

Unless you're thinking of Father Brown, though that doesn't really fit the whole medieval vibe.
As for the main topic... hmm, maybe Hamlet? You've got ghosts, betrayals, murders, all kinds of scheming. It's basically a classic medieval thriller, I guess. 😁
