Kate Taylor59 said:I look in the mirror and don't see that bump at all, but when I look at photos, I just fall into a depression...

Photoshop usually makes every flaw look way worse.

but it bothers me so much that I'd even go through with surgery...

Do other people actually see that bump, or is it just you?

and I'm terrified it'll hurt afterward and I'll lose my mind from the nerves—I don't know how I'll manage without being able to breathe through my nose... :O

The only part that really hurts is getting the tampons pulled out, everything else is manageable. Breathing through your mouth just happens naturally, kind of like when you have a nasty cold.
rustygardener172 said:We clearly just got luckier than most 😛 That’s exactly my point... everyone is different and everyone heals differently... so someone else's experience with pain or recovery doesn't really help much since it's all subjective 😁

Gomast? I have no idea what she's talking about... maybe the first month or so... honestly, I've already forgotten... but I get what you mean 🙄

Everything went great for me, except I had the rotten luck of catching a cold—still haven't fully recovered—and running a fever right alongside that post-op fever before they take the tampons out. The whole thing lasted about five days and it absolutely wiped me out.

Yeah, Gomast is basically rubber. 😬 I know you guys were discussing here how the nose shape keeps shifting during those first few months...
mellowgull51 said:So, I'm checking back in. It’s been about 10 days since my surgery with Dr. Toncic, and I took the cast off two days ago. Honestly, I am beyond happy with my nose—really, no complaints at all 🙏🙏 The only thing is that it's still pretty swollen, especially on the right side, but he mentioned that about 30% of the swelling should subside within the first two months. Anyway, I promised I’d post some photos here, so here they are. I'm sharing this because reading through the forums gave me the courage to actually go through with it when I was on the fence. Looking back, it was definitely the right call... and like I said in my last post, having family support is everything. I totally agree with that—without their blessing and encouragement, this whole process would have been way, way harder 😍😍
That's all from me for now...
P.S. I also went and got a new hairstyle today 😁😁

Yeah, tell me about it—I’m honestly baffled by people who claim the whole thing was a piece of cake... you know, those folks who were back to smoking(😳) or heading straight back to work just a few days after surgery. 😕

Maybe this sounds dumb, but how long does it take for my nose to stop feeling all soft and rubbery? Right now, it swells up like a frog whenever I blow my nose.🤣 Since I've had to wrap it myself at home because they took everything off earlier than expected, I'm low-key terrified I'll mess up the shape or something... even though I'm being super careful with it.
Sophia Hill22 said:@stormyharbor2/">@@stormyharbor2 how was your experience with Dr. Glusca? Did you fly in from D.C. too? Are you happy with the results?

I'm not from D.C., and I ended up staying at a hotel for a few days that Dr. Glusca will probably suggest to you... So far, I'm really happy, but I want to wait until everything settles down before I give my full take.
rustygardener172 said:stormyharbor2, how’s it going???? You still alive? 😛 😁

Yeah, I am. Recovering...🙂
Donna Jackson8 said:I’ve been lurking on this forum long enough to know you’ve been hunting for the real deal for a while now 🙂. So, did you pull the trigger on the surgery? And who's the surgeon?

Glushac.
Donna Jackson8 said:Hey everyone—if you have any experience at all with Dr. Glushac or Dr. Kincl (besides the people I've already grilled with questions who actually got back to me 🙂), please shoot me a DM with your thoughts, photos... anything! It would mean the world to me. Thanks!! xoxo

Just ask me again in a few days.
Raymond Kern3 said:Can someone please answer me... Does anyone know about this kind of surgery???

Blepharoplasty?🤷 Pretty much every surgeon in the US does that one...
Some people might think this is a bit much, but personally? I think this nose (this profile) looks great.

Not bad at all in my opinion.

I’ve noticed that with our surgeons here, the nose always looks "glued" onto the face—there's none of that subtle space near the nasal ala before it blends into the cheeks. Is that just how it goes, or is there another way to do it?🤔

@mellowgull51/">@@mellowgull51, I totally agree regarding Toncic's noses—specifically the tips. Honestly, I've read plenty of criticism here about both Toncic and Ostojic, and even a few bits about Glushac, though those weren't quite as bad...
http://www.lindabriggs.co.uk/cosmeti.../nose3_bef.jpg

This is what mine looks like 😬—but honestly, I’m not feeling the "after" result at all. The bridge is way too high now and it just gives off this heavy "Roman nose" vibe... 😢

A specialty of Dr. Toncic
is African American noses.

So basically, he's your guy if you're looking to fix a smaller, button-style nose.
mellowgull51 said:So, I’ve been playing around with things a bit—ended up messing up the tip of my nose a little, though... Regardless, this is basically the look I'm going for. Once I get a bit more practice in, I'll take a photo to a consultation and see what they have to say about it...

And here's the picture too... 🙂

I can't see the image you're trying to share—link seems broken or something... anyway, if you were trying to show me something specific, just try again. I'll be here...

Hahahah, I did the exact same thing—except my fake nose looked like something I was born with... 🤣 I see where you're going with this—I'll go along with you, except for that basket... it's just a little too sharp. 😬

Nancy Perez74 said:I’m just sitting here waiting... and waiting... but that nose isn't getting any more defined, period. I'm still waiting on the results, but since the doctor already told me the shape wouldn't change... that basically means it's not going to get that sharp look I wanted... and I paid a small fortune for this...😢
And it's not even symmetrical... honestly, it doesn't look like I even saw a plastic surgeon—which was literally my only goal here. It’s been almost two months now, and at this point, I shouldn't even be holding out hope that anything will actually change...

Dammit... 😢 I was wondering where you disappeared to. So, it's not perfectly straight? If it helps you feel any better, I've seen noses from both Zgaljardic and some truly top-tier surgeons out here that aren't just perfectly straight like a candle... they go straight for a bit, then have this little dip of maybe a few millimeters, and then the tip. 🤷
For those of you who went to see Zgaljardic but aren't from around Santa Monica or San Francisco—where did you stay for those few days? I mean, the surgeon isn't exactly cheap, so I'm guessing you didn't shell out for some fancy hotel, right?😁
rustygardener172 said:No offense intended... just read the last five pages of this thread and you'll find everything you need—he’s been the main topic lately. No point in constantly repeating ourselves...

I'm with you on that. If she hadn't actually read up on him here, she wouldn't even be chiming in right now, so this whole thing feels a bit weird to me—confusing, even... 🤔

There's a search function in the top right corner, here is his specific page, and honestly, you've got Google if you want to dig up any info you're missing... 🤣
rustygardener172 said:hahahahahhahahaahah watch your mouth! Once I get back to you in a few months... listen, you stole my thunder, so now you can pay for my cartilage resurfacing hahahahahahhaahahah 😂
Honestly, I really hope that doesn't happen to anyone else 🙂

🤣

Me too. God help us.

In a few months, we'll all be wearing clown noses.

😂
rustygardener172 said:So you just keep going back to have it shaved down... and when it grows back, you go back to shave it again, and when it grows back, you go back to shave it again, and when it grows back, you go back to shave it again, and when it grows back, you go back to shave it again... etc. If you're stubborn... but if you aren't, you'll probably just give up after a few times and learn to live with that cartilage growing all by itself 😂 🤣 😂 🤣

Cut the crap. 😂 I hope you grow extra cartilage yourself. 🤣

Just kidding. 😉
silentotter99 said:Has anyone dealt with this kind of swelling before? Is it actually possible to get cartilage buildup just a week after surgery, or am I just freaking out for no reason?

I've been wondering about this too—I read somewhere that cartilage can actually grow back. If that happens, then what...😕
silentotter99 said:I'm not sure yet—I haven't taken the cast off. I'll let you know once I do. It looks like my nose got shorter and more lifted, but hopefully, things settle down once the swelling finally goes away...🙂

Why wouldn't you go closed? Seems better to me—smaller scars, plus the wound heals faster. Who did you see for your consultation? Have you actually booked the surgery or are you still on the fence?

Wait, who did you go to? I'm seeing Glušac, and honestly, I'm torn. I have to head back in with my insurance referral because things got messy—they told me to come back tomorrow when my doctor is actually in the office.

The nose will drop and shrink a bit—it's supposed to happen...
silentotter99 said:I actually dealt with an overprojected nose too, and my surgeon used the closed technique. Honestly, your best bet is just to book a consultation—let a pro take a look and tell you if it's doable. I don't see any reason why a closed technique wouldn't work for you...😉

So, how did yours turn out? I went for a consult, but he does everything using the closed method. I guess it should be possible...
