Megan Moore76 said:@Adam Smith77, send us some before and after pics in a DM—I'm dying to see them.

Me too! Spam my inbox, pretty please.

Just make sure they're actually yours... no random photos from the internet, please.😁
rustygardener172 said:Maybe it hurts when people call you out like that...

😂
about all the pain I went through—not even gonna get into it...

So why does everyone insist it doesn't hurt?
Rachel Barnes5 said:I was starting to think my nose looked way too "done"—like, it’s leaning a bit towards that fake, piggish look... It just doesn't look natural at all, it's way too symmetrical.
Maybe I don't look too bad—I've got a pretty soft face—but honestly, I was way more happy with my nose when it was a bit larger...

I’ve been thinking about this too. I have that kind of soft facial structure myself, and honestly? I’m terrified of ending up looking like a Barbie with a Kardashian nose. Don't get me wrong—I love a good doll-like look on people—but I don't mean those over-tanned, silicone-filled blondes... I want that aesthetic to actually look natural, not like some obvious byproduct of plastic surgery.

The changes in these photos aren't even that dramatic—and honestly, most of the surgeons' websites just show profile shots of noses that are turned up way too much. You can't actually see the front view to judge how the nose fits the rest of the face... and just because a profile looks "softer" doesn't mean it actually looks good on you...

Yeah, I noticed that too. That’s actually why when rustygardener172 was sending me those photos, I was curious about what it looked like from the front... 😁

redcobra92 said:So, how's the lodging situation looking? Since I'm coming all the way from New York...

I don't have a place to stay or a car either—even though I live a bit closer... I'll just ask him about it when I head in for my consultation. Maybe there's a hotel nearby?🤷 It's pricey, but honestly—I don't really have a choice...
Rachel Barnes5 said:It’s been two years since her nose job (which I don't think was even necessary)

What exactly was the point of that comment?🤔

So, sure, there are better rhinoplasty examples in the US, but personally, I think these results are way better than most of what you see here in America.

I haven't seen such glaringly bad noses on any of our local surgeons' websites. 🤷 I mean, just look at them... If a woman goes in to fix a bump and ends up with two bumps and some weird indentation or a hook at the tip?😕 They don't all have to be "done up," but they should at least look normal and balanced. Why fix one flaw only to leave others behind? Unless that's what the patient actually wanted, I guess...

classic, "overdone" upturned noses—kind of like that 70s and 80s style

If you read the comments here, it seems like everyone loves those narrow, unnaturally upturned Barbie noses. 🤷
Rachel Barnes5 said:they're heading to the States for audits.
I've been reading comments from surgeons here who claim open rhinoplasty is basically obsolete nowadays and totally outdated.
That’s just not true. Most top-tier surgeons abroad actually prefer using the open technique...

Yep, based on what I've gathered from reading international sites, everything you mentioned is spot on. 👍 Just trying to stay informed—honestly, if I actually asked a surgeon face-to-face why they think the closed technique is better, I'd probably get kicked out of the office immediately. Since I'm just some clueless person with zero surgical background, asking that would be pretty bold... 😬 🤣 but I'm just naturally curious like that. 🤷

And what about broken noses or cases needing full reconstruction? To me, the open approach seems superior even for those, especially when you consider symmetry...
rustygardener172 said:I woke up and they had stuck one of those IV needles in my arm—on the back of the hand, I think? Hahaha, I have no clue what the anatomy term is... first they tried running some fluid through it... but since my vein wouldn't take it and just swelled up, they had to stick another needle higher up on my arm to move the fluid over... that one worked fine... everything is still kind of blurry, honestly, I don't even know exactly when I passed out...
🙂

Man... 👍
rustygardener172 said:You’d really need to ask a professional... I have zero clue, and honestly, I doubt most other girls here do either.
Or maybe just browse some health sites—there’s probably an article or something about it somewhere 🙂

I passed out—didn't feel a thing—and woke up with a perfectly fine nose... I thought I was under general anesthesia, but I wouldn't bet money on that being true 🙂 Elizabeth Collins5 has me totally confused 😉

Elizabeth Collins5 and I are both pretty confused by this. I know roughly what the difference is since I've been under general before. Apparently, Glusac only works locally, but I highly doubt anyone needing a full nose reconstruction would settle for local anesthesia... 🤷 I'm curious about how that actually feels, though—some people described it before... Like, they give you a sedative injection first, blah blah...
Hey, Elizabeth Collins5 and I are both curious about how general versus local anesthesia actually works before surgery... if someone could break it down, because it’s all a little confusing.
Nancy Perez74 said:I look exactly the same—just like before! And what’s even worse... yesterday my partner's parents saw me for the first time since the surgery, and they just stood there circling my nose, staring like total idiots, only to conclude: "Well, nothing changed—it looks just like it did before. That doctor probably never had an easier payday than he did with you."
So yeah, I can tell you that seriously pissed me off!!!😠😠🙂

😢 First he tells you that you aren't yourself anymore, and then these people claim they can't see any difference at all? From what I can tell, there's definitely a change—your face looks softer, maybe a bit rounder. At least from the profile view...
Nancy Perez74 said:@stormyharbor2/">@@stormyharbor2 : Hey, lady... I honestly can't believe this. So, I saw a coworker yesterday for the first time since my nose surgery—showing off the new look—and he was just totally disappointed. He actually looked at me and said, "Didn't I tell you not to mess with your face? You used to be a total knockout, but now you're just... a wreck."
So, apparently I used to have more defined features—you know, actually striking—but now everyone’s telling me I’ve "lost myself"... like I'm not even me anymore! Hahaha... honestly, the whole thing is just ridiculous to me... 🤣
You were the first person I thought of!

Shit. Kljukica. 🤣 I mean, is it just me, or do you actually look that different?...😳 I feel like I’m gonna look exactly the same from the front—just maybe a little better from the side... 😁
rustygardener172 said:it's the same way for me too

What's up? Yay! So, Dr. Glusac's page says they work at a local clinic, but I'm dead set on going to the general hospital—which is honestly the standard for situations like mine or yours... 🙂
Kimberly Baker13 said:Just one thing—did they do the surgery under general anesthesia or just local with some extra numbing stuff?

I'm wondering the exact same thing! And I have the same question for rustygardener172—though I think she already mentioned it was local, I can't quite remember... 🤔
Megan Moore76 said:That kind of nose works for girls with smaller faces—mine is super long and narrow, so I doubt it would look any good on me either.

Yeah, tell me about it. Just imagine putting a tiny, narrow little button nose on a face like that—where you can't even see the bridge, just two nostrils... 😬

I actually like her nose. It’s long enough to balance out her elongated face, but it's still shaped nicely and thin.

I'm not a fan. 😢 To me, she looks a bit too plastic. http://www.exposay.com/celebrity-pho...rty-Vu5qmt.jpg

Ever heard of Hedy Lamarr? Personally, I think she was one of the most stunning women to ever exist—her nose was considered the gold standard. I even saw it cited in an article about rhinoplasty as the perfect example. 😁 I don't want anything like that for myself, obviously, but it looks gorgeous on her...

Nancy Perez74 said:You’d probably be the dream patient—not demanding at all. Me? I think I'm actually a nightmare to deal with... I tend to have these totally unrealistic expectations and I'm way too much of a perfectionist for my own good...

I'm not being demanding!?... 😳 Actually, it's quite the opposite—I’m incredibly demanding and easily the biggest perfectionist I know. Getting that cute little button nose isn't exactly rocket science since everyone seems to want it anyway, but I have a very specific look in mind... if I don't show at least one photo, there's no way they'll know what I'm actually aiming for...

You’re going to be perfectly happy just making sure you don't settle for anything too small—or too much of a mess...

I don't want that. I’m looking for a small nose—but nothing too tiny, because my face isn't exactly small... 🤣 I hope you get what I'm trying to say... 😁
Megan Moore76 said:John Newman2, it’s tough to tell just from a profile shot how your nose actually fits your face—or if your old one was better than the new one. You really need to see the whole face...😉

That's exactly what I said.
Nancy Perez74 said:@stormyharbor2, hahaha, seriously, where on earth do you even find these emojis? I'm actually dying over here...

right
it reminds me of those girls who want surgery but are terrified they’ll "lose themselves"—you know, lose their identity or character or whatever... just nonsense...

Nah, I agree—it's total nonsense. It's like when people say the same thing about Jadranka Djokic; that she'd lose her personality or uniqueness or blah blah blah... Since when does a nose define who you are?😕 Like, if she fixes it, suddenly she's some plastic person without a soul? No. We just have different tastes in noses, that's all. I think there's a general rule that smaller noses look better on women by default, but I don't want one that's TOO tiny or upturned because I know it wouldn't suit me. 🤷
Nancy Perez74 said:Look, @stormyharbor2/">@@stormyharbor2, the new nose is basically "without that little bump—just shorter with an upturned tip"...🤣

Yeah, but it’s a completely different vibe. The original had this sort of elegant, sweeping feel to it—long and flowing—whereas this version is just short and... "blunt." I don't even know how to put it into words properly. And now you want to make it even smaller? Even shorter?... 🙂 🤣 And maybe you could fix that mouth of yours too? Jeez. Don't make me come over there and slap you... 😂

Look, don't listen to me. Honestly... if you're happy with how things turned out and that's what you were aiming for, then fine. Good for you. 👍
Nancy Perez74 said:I can't believe it—apparently Dottyika likes my old nose better... hahaha, I'm actually in shock!!!🤣

🙂 Don't you dare laugh at me...

Honestly, I just think that shape suited you better. If it didn't have that little bump—maybe a bit shorter, with the tip turned up...

Look, I get it—the newer one is technically superior and looks a hell of a lot better, but...🤷

I don't know... maybe just leave it alone?
rustygardener172 said:It’s not even about that—it’s more about her doubting herself after picking Dr. Ostojic despite those few crappy posts about him on the forum...
shame on you, you clearly aren't paying attention 😉 😛

And what do I know... everywhere I go, I just cause a mess. 🤣

John Newman2, once you're done being Nellie, can you send me a pic via DM?🙂
