Actually, they are—plus this PMS is brutal. I see so many women complaining that their doctors don't take them seriously. They just brush it off like, "Oh, that's just normal cramping" or "You're overreacting." And then there's the ☕ my doctor is the absolute best in town excuse—same exact reaction. He didn't even bother checking my hormones because he assumes the Pill will just fix everything. So, I'm waiting...🤷
So, first dose after starting Lyndette—and honestly? No pain at all... 😁 Good grief... the only thing that isn't "light" bleeding is the fact that I basically rained today... 🤦 PMS was absolutely brutal—I had migraines, felt like I wanted to end it all, flu symptoms... I’d wake up completely drenched in sweat and shivering from the cold. 👎 I'm hoping things settle down the longer I stick with this—honestly, if it’s just to deal with these endless periods, it's barely worth the hassle. I’d much rather deal with standard cramps than this absolute PMS nightmare... it's just not worth the trade-off.
Larry Castillo2 said:Frank Hall18, you sure you don't have anything going on with your hormone levels?
Have you ever tried Maca powder for regulation? It really helped balance things out for me—helped stabilize my hormones, stopped the weight gain issues, and gave me a serious energy boost.
I’m actually taking a break from it right now to try out another alternative—Lugol's iodine.
Tried that miracle stuff too—nothing but a temporary buzz, honestly feels like I just downed a cup of coffee. And I’m not buying the whole "hormone regulation" claim for a second... there’s zero proof for it anyway...
@Frank Hall18, if you stumble onto anything better than Neofen Forte, let me know—I honestly don't think there’s anything stronger out there without a prescription... 🤷
Looks like I’m not the only one. I recently started my first birth control—Lindynette—thinking the whole "spotting" thing would just be a few drops here and there. Instead, it’s like this constant trickle almost every single day... you know, like when it’s getting dark at the end of the day but there's still some light left? I'm stuck wearing pads constantly, plus dealing with all the PMS symptoms. 👎 One of the main reasons I even decided to go on the pill was because my PMS used to be absolutely brutal—it would totally wreck my mental health—and now everything feels even worse. I honestly don't know how I'm going to survive these three months while my body supposedly "adjusts." I've been feeling incredibly depressed, getting these sudden, sharp headaches right in my forehead out of nowhere, and I'm so irritable that I'm constantly snapping at people close to me. My skin is breaking out like crazy too, just like it does right before my actual period. 😢
Like that other user mentioned above, my gynecologist wouldn't even bother checking my hormone levels. He basically didn't believe me about the excess hair growth—which is one of my biggest issues—even though I doubt Lindynette is actually going to help with that. I'll try to tough it out until autumn, but if things don't improve, I'm going to demand he prescribes something else.
Brian Kim5 said:Thanks, I’ll definitely head back there and give something else a shot. If it works, great; if I realize right away that it’s a bust, I won't bother telling anyone.
And you can't expect results instantly—it takes about three months for your body to actually adjust to the pills.
Brian Kim5 said:Hey Dotty, thanks for getting back to me. 🙂 I get the theory that it’s different for everyone, but after that episode with the birth control, I swore I was done with it—even if I find myself thinking about trying again every single month when my period hits. I’ve dealt with PMS, breakouts, and a whole laundry list of other issues because of them. I guess I just fell into that cycle of accepting it as my "normal." I've been through a lot, and I'm definitely not someone who cries easily; my pain tolerance is actually pretty high. But this? This is unbearable. It puts me straight in bed, completely sidelining me from work... In short, it's a nightmare.
I know exactly how you feel. My pain tolerance is huge too, but menstrual cramps and the mental side of PMS? Unbearable. 👎 There have to be pills out there that actually work for you—just try one, and if it doesn't fit, you just stop. I used to think just like you—telling myself I wouldn't bother going to the doctor or my OBGYN because it wasn't *that* bad this time, or it wasn't hurting enough to justify the trip. I kept putting it off until I realized I wasn't going to get anything done in life if I kept letting my schedule revolve around my period and my PMS. 🤣
Brian Kim5 said:I just need to vent to someone, somewhere... I’ve had debilitating menstrual cramps for as long as I can remember, and every single month they just get worse. This morning, my period started around 7 AM; I ended up vomiting nine times. I ended up taking a cocktail of Voltaren, Ketonal, and Ibuprofen, plus another Voltaren suppository. It sounds like way too much, I know, but it’s the only combination that actually dulls the pain, even if it doesn't make it disappear completely. Last time, the pain was so intense I actually blacked out. I was lying in bed, the agony was unbearable, and then everything just went dark—I didn't fall asleep, I just lost consciousness. I woke up three hours later... I’ve seen plenty of gynecologists, including specialists in private practice, and they all tell me the same thing: there’s nothing "wrong" with me, it’s just the shape of my uterus that causes the pain. I tried using birth control to manage it, but that actually made things worse and didn't help at all. Honestly, I am at my wits' end and have no idea what to do anymore. 😢
Hey, I’m in the exact same boat. Mine have always been brutal. Occasionally, I’ll have one where I feel almost nothing—which is super rare and catches me off guard—but most of the time it's intense pain and extreme PMS (I've honestly felt suicidal over it a few times...). Pills don't even touch the pain for me. Last time, I had to take 3 or 4 Neofen Forte plus some Tylenol with codeine just to get any relief. I haven't thrown up, but last time I nearly collapsed—I had to lie down on the bathroom floor just to gather enough strength to crawl back to bed. My doctor also told me everything looks fine, though he didn't even bother checking my hormones; he just prescribed some light birth control and said it should fix things. Apparently, it's due to ovarian cysts or some kind of hormonal imbalance. I haven't started taking them yet because I'm waiting for my period to start, so we'll see. Have you tried switching brands? You know how it is—not every prescription works for everyone. 🤷
stupid question; regarding that "nearly 100% effective" claim—what does it actually mean when they say you have to take the pill at the same time every single day? like, does that mean roughly around 5 (maybe giving myself an hour of wiggle room), or does it seriously have to be exactly at 5 every single day?🤷
Megan Sanchez27 said:Can you get nose surgery while wearing braces? I read somewhere that you shouldn't because your face shape won't fully settle until after the braces come off... :O
You can. I had them—still have them, actually. It's not like your facial structure is going to shift so drastically overnight that your nose suddenly ends up in a different zip code. 🤣
So, what’s the deal with Lindynette 20? I just got prescribed my first pack of birth control—so I'm curious (yeah, I know there's a whole separate thread on this, I'll get to it later)... how does it actually work, besides the obvious protection part? Like, does it do anything about excessive hair growth, or is it too weak for that sort of thing?🙂
Everything went fine for me, but thinking back now... I don't know if I could pull the strength together to do it all again. :coward: It honestly wasn't painful at all—the surgery and the recovery were actually great... but I get the feeling that if I had to go through it today, I’d be panicking way more. I'd just be waiting for something to go wrong, so it wouldn't just be the money factor—I don't think I'm mentally ready for another surgery. 😬
Yeah, same here. Everything was smooth and painless, and I'd probably do it all over again without a second thought 😁 except for the fact that I'd have to hunt down the nurse around the clinic just to get some pads. 🙂
neonstag63 said:Oh, really? Everything went fine for me. Honestly, the most traumatic part was getting the stitches out because they stung just a tiny bit, but even that wasn't exactly a nightmare. 🤷
Yeah. I don't think they even pulled my stitches—they just kind of fell out on their own. I can't even remember if there was anything to actually remove. But pulling out the tampon? That is hands down the grossest thing I have ever experienced. It’s not even about the pain, it’s just that sensation... like someone is trying to pull your brain out through your nostrils. Ugh, just... gross. 😱 If I knew I had to deal with that again, I'd probably shop for a few packs of Normabels beforehand just to be safe. 🤣
Honestly, breathing through your mouth isn't even the main issue here. The real dealbreaker—the one thing that would definitely land you in trouble again—is if you tried pulling that tampon out.
fadedfalcon13 said:Wait, two and a half hours? Isn't that way too long?! I thought these surgeries usually only take about an hour tops... were you at a General Clinic or something?
It was definitely closer to two hours, not two and a half. And yeah, it was at a General Clinic.
neonstag63 said:Now I’m genuinely curious how anyone claims this can be handled in just 10 minutes? 🤔 I’m no expert, obviously—my last surgery took about 2 hours... and if the procedure is basically the same, they still have to "open up" the nose (depending on whatever technique they're using, I guess) to get rid of that new bump. Sure, it might be smaller this time, but that doesn't exactly sound like a five-minute job to me...
Someone who's actually been through this or heard something solid, please set me straight. 🤷
Yeah, mine lasted about two and a half hours, I think. There was this one forum for plastic surgeons where they answer questions, but I can't seem to track it down again. Maybe it's less work because there's nothing else to do besides nipping that bump out and stitching up?🤔 Though, honestly, they didn't do much else to my nose anyway—like, my nasal bridge is exactly the same as before.
neonstag63 said:Well... I'm holding off because I just don't have the energy for another surgery—I haven't got the time or the headspace for it. Plus, I'd probably end up footing the bill again, which is the last thing I need right now... 🙂 I'll just deal with it for a while longer and wait until the bump gets more obvious before deciding on surgery. Oh well...
Let me know what your doctor says if you end up calling them. 🙂
I get that—I've got zero energy either—but maybe they'd fix it for free 🤷 I was reading this forum where someone mentioned having a bump after surgery, and the specialist told them it could be fixed in ten minutes flat. I honestly won't be able to afford surgery ever again, but this is really starting to worry me... I had a massive lump before that was also a bump that just kept getting worse (probably from a broken nose). 😢
neonstag63 said:stormyharbor2, I think we’re actually in the same boat since we didn't even have the same surgeon. Lately, I've been noticing this tiny bump on one side of my nose that definitely wasn't there right after the surgery. It shows up in a profile view from one angle, but you can't see it from the other. And yeah, I get that it still looks better than how it used to, but like you said—I didn't drop that kind of cash just to have a bump pop up two years later... who knows what it'll look like in another few years. 😢
omg, same here. From one profile, you can clearly see a little protrusion, but from the other, nothing. It's most noticeable when you feel it with your hand—it's almost sharp. 😢 Whatever, I'm going to have to reach out to him and ask what's going on, because there's no way this is just going to disappear on its own... 😢
Just to add one thing—I’m not sending my photos to random people in DMs whom I don't even know. I sent them to one girl who had seen him too, because I actually trusted her. I just don't want to deal with the headache of hearing, "It wasn't that bad before, you're overreacting." That's not the point. It doesn't matter if things were better or worse before... the point is that after paying all this money, I don't want to end up with yet another bump or lump that I've dealt with my whole life, just in a different spot. To the naked eye, sure, you can't see it—but I can feel it under my finger, and I can see it if I pull the skin on my nose even slightly. Before, that bump was an obvious ridge everyone could see; now, it's "just" a little lump. Either way, it's there, and I'm terrified it'll become more noticeable as time goes on.
Ashley Bishop43 said:I feel so bad for you... 😢 who did your surgery?
Total idiot. If he keeps messing with me, I'm going to have to reach out to him 😢 but I can't afford another surgery right now—not to mention I can't make it in for a follow-up since he's all the way across the country in Seattle.
I already posted in another thread about how this lump has come back after my surgery. I really thought it was going to go away, but honestly, it’s getting worse by the day 😢—it used to be the same size, just more to the side near my nose, but now it’s moved almost to the center and you can actually feel it when you touch it. If I pull the skin taut, it looks white, like some massive subcutaneous pimple... though you don't even need to stretch it to see it clearly. I can't afford another surgery, and I have no clue how this happened when the specialist isn't supposed to scrape anything, but specifically targets the lump because of this 👎
