Does the tenant pay the rental tax? in Real Estate ·
Michael Howard65 said:And how exactly are you supposed to know if the price was bumped up for taxes or not?

The simplest way is to take the landlord's asking price, subtract the tax amount, and then ask them if they would accept that lower figure if they weren't obligated to pay the tax.
Vector graphics vs. Raster? in IT Support ·
Zachary Bishop11 said:Which software should I use for this, and roughly how long will it take to complete a single image?

What kind of images are we talking about here? I suspect they aren't photographs.
I believe the professor's request for a vector format was simply intended to ensure your images don't end up looking low-quality or pixelated—which won't happen as long as you maintain a high resolution. In that case, even Microsoft Paint would suffice, though the final result wouldn't actually be in a vector format. Just let him know that everyone will be happy with the outcome.
Nosy banks in Banking, Insurance & Loans ·
I’ve just been reading about how someone was interrogated by their bank regarding absolutely everything under the sun...

To be honest, this isn't the first time I've heard reports about banks becoming increasingly aggressive when it comes to harvesting client data. They seem interested in every little detail—the number of children you have, your spouse's income, accounts held at other institutions, overseas holdings, tax IDs both domestic and abroad, even real estate assets...

Has anyone else dealt with something similar?

What exactly are banks legally entitled to know, and where do they draw the line? One specific detail in this article really struck me: it sounds as though the client was practically coerced into handing over sensitive personal information to the bank....

US Federal Budget 2012 in Economy ·
says:
The paper is pure bullshit.

According to the projections in the guidelines, federal revenue for the next fiscal year should grow by 5 percent, reaching $112.8 billion. Over the following two years, we expect growth of about 6.4 percent per year—hitting $120 billion in 2013 and $127.6 billion in 2014.

So, let’s be realistic here and read between the lines. It is naive to expect this collection of pseudo-intellectuals to actually do anything to make these revenue growth projections REAL. There are only two possibilities:

1. This is all just empty rhetoric that won't materialize, which we get fed from election to election, and we blindly forgive every single time.
2. It isn't empty rhetoric and it will happen, but only because the dollar slides against the euro by, say, 10% annually. In other words, December 2012 -> 1€=$2.75, 2013 -> 1€=$3.00.

That crisis with the Swiss franc this past summer was a wonderful shock and durability test; it showed us our limits and proved just how much we can be pushed around.

Bottom line: the projections in these guidelines aren't science fiction.

Bradley Hayes6 said:Greece, Portugal, and even Ireland all have junk ratings, yet nobody's letting them default.

The USA sits there with an Aaa rating while Ben Bernanke is out here sweating over the possibility of Congress triggering a massive default today.

We’re living in a total comedy of errors. 😂

Perhaps it is all just a matter of synchronizing phase shifts.

Essentially, if everyone defaults at the exact same moment, perhaps no one will even feel the tremor.🤷
What is this forum even about??? in Forum Help! ·
I was doing some searching online and stumbled upon a site that looks identical to our forum, but it’s hosted at a different URL...

The problem is, I can't seem to log in there.

Could someone please clarify what is going on here? Is this a phishing attempt?😲

Is there actually a meaningful difference when you have the same chipset (like an AMD Radeon) but it's from different manufacturers (such as Sapphire Technology, VTX3D, or ASUS)?😕

Thanks!🙂 I did a little digging online... for what I specifically need, this card seems like a perfectly solid choice.

Now, I have one more question:

Will there be a noticeable performance difference between the 512 MB and the 1GB version?

I mean, the price gap is $67.🙄

Kyle Sanchez4 said:That sounds great, but does it support DDR2?

You should be able to run Wormsi without much trouble, though I wouldn't count on Dragon Age performing well. Which specific motherboard are you using?

Here are the specs. To clarify, it does have DDR2(800), specifically 2x1GB.

I am using an ASRock Motherboard CoreDual-SATA2 paired with an Intel Pentium 4 running at 2.8 GHz.

I actually plan on replacing this entire setup in about two years anyway...

So, which graphics card should I pick up that remains

relatively affordable, yet offers a noticeable upgrade over my current NVIDIA GeForce 6200?

Austin Rodriguez41 said:Wait, is that an AGP graphics card?

The NVIDIA GeForce 6200 uses an AGP interface, though that isn't really the main issue here. The motherboard is one of those highly versatile ASRock models that supports both AGP and PCI-e, and even handles different memory types like SDRAM and DDR.🙂

I am looking for a graphics card for my PC setup. I have it hooked up to an HD LCD TV, and I mostly use it to run games like Wormsi, Heroes of Might and Magic V, Civilization IV, or Dragon Age from time to time.

My current NVIDIA GeForce 6200 just isn't cutting it anymore.

The specs are as follows: Intel Pentium 4 at 2.8 GHz, 2 GB of RAM, and a 500W power supply.

What would be the best budget-friendly option for this build?

Thanks in advance 🙂
feralwolf24 said:Look, I don't think I'd ever work for $1000, at least not in my current role or the way I do things now! And honestly, those five thousand dollars I've made over my entire career feels like a lot... personally, I've been feeling the squeeze since I left daycare, not just over this past year.

You say that now, but you'll change your mind.

If you scale back your hours, $3,000 should be more than enough to get by.🤣😂

The Tang produced for the Austrian market likely has a lower vitamin content, which accounts for the cheaper price tag.☕

Good grief... just another guerrilla marketing tactic playing out on a forum.😠

Do the math on what 2% of 6.7 billion actually looks like
The irony is palpable...

If that statistic holds up, then the crisis isn't even real. It turns out those wealthiest 2% of people are essentially "indebted" by about $2,500 per person.
That’s pocket change for people at that level. The issue isn't really about "how much money is owed"; it's about "how much money needs to be earned."
That 2% will never be able to earn or work off that amount!😁
Did Josip Broz Marshall really have $2 billion? in Close to Politics ·
We ought to establish a formal commission to investigate the true origins of this wealth. If there are actually funds to be found, they should be distributed among the families of those who fell on all sides—whether they were fighting for the resistance, the Axis, or the nationalist factions.
Rachel Murphy18 said:I’ve been reading quite a bit about the financial crisis lately. A lot of people seem to think the Chinese yuan is going to gain value, but we don't really have access to it here in the States, do we?

What are your thoughts? If anyone here has more experience with this, do you think it will actually rise?

Also, where would one even go in America to buy Chinese yen?

For a while, I thought investing in the yuan was a smart move. However, now that I see Clintonism is negotiating the sale of U.S. bonds—essentially offloading our debt onto China—everything is looking pretty questionable.

The way the Chinese are being forced to play this hand is terrifying. They’ll end up buying foreign debt that was created specifically to exploit them! 😂

It’s got that plaster feel, but then it's wrapped in gauze... that sounds like a splint to me.

If it is a cast, I'll likely be stuck in it for at least three weeks.😳

Can someone tell me, when do you typically go in for a check-up after a break like this?🤔

An open fracture on your thumb?????😕 😲 😲 😲

How on earth did you manage that?

Anyway... you're in a splint now, right? They didn't need to use any surgical screws, did they? Usually, you'll have a follow-up after a week, and then they’ll likely take more X-rays before putting you in a cast for three to four weeks.
