Need some expert eyes here. I’ve been rocking a +3 prescription for ages—wearing contacts too—but it doesn't matter. Every single night when I'm reading, my vision just... fades. It's like everything starts drifting away after a few seconds, and then I’m stuck squinting just to make sense of it. Is there actually a fix for this, or am I just stuck dealing with this crap forever?
Donna Hill82 said:I think I first heard Radiohead about 4 years ago... and man, was I hooked. I grabbed Hopes and Fears pretty much immediately—it’s still a total masterpiece to me. But that second album, Under the Iron Sea? Ugh... honestly, just a huge letdown. I guess I'll have to pick up the third one next.
Look, if you're hoping this new record is going to be the next Hopes and Fears, you're gonna be disappointed. There aren't any sob stories here—just dance tracks.
This album is killer—total dance vibes with a massive 80s throwback feel. My absolute favorites have gotta be The lovers are losing, Spiralling, Better Than this, Perfect Symmetry, and Again and again I pretend that you're alone.
You know that search bar right on the front page of Reddit? The one where you can just scour the whole site? Yeah, well—it’s dead to me. Every time I type something in and hit search, I just get stuck on a page that says

Is this some kind of ban from the admins—and if so, what did I even do to deserve being blocked from searching the forum? Or is it just a glitch... maybe it's happening to everyone?
Honestly, I’m kind of over Maroon 5 lately—just totally burnt out. Now I’ve been stuck on a massive Radiohead loop instead. Can't wait for the new album this summer.
Lisa Jones2 said:Hey, I used to listen to Shakira non-stop, but a few days ago I realized No Doubt actually has the better tracks—I basically tossed my whole Shakira collection. They're seriously incredible. I downloaded an album and everything is hitting right. Now I'd love it if someone could tell me everything they know about them or drop some interesting websites, because honestly, I don't know anything about them.
You gotta check out the "Live at Madison Square Garden" DVD. It absolutely floored me.
Walter Garcia53 said:well, now you know 🙂 Anyway, she’s still touring—saw some clips on YouTube where she was in Moscow a few years back—but she isn't really dropping new stuff. Sad news, I guess.
Look, there are plenty of 80s artists who haven't put out anything new in forever but they still tour (think The Pretenders). What else are they gonna do? It's their livelihood. As for Madonna, Summer Rain, Runaway horses, I Get Weak, Heaven is..., lights on—those are my jams. Honestly, if I hadn't heard Heaven is... playing at an open mic earlier, I wouldn't even be making this post.
Hands down, their best track is "Nevermind"—nothing beats it. Looking back at the older stuff, I'm still digging "You stole the sun from my heart" and "If you tolerate this..." too. Right now, I've got "Born to Run" on repeat. It’s got these tracks referencing seasons—"Summer of '69"summer", "autumnsong" and "winterlovers"—plus they tucked a hidden cover of John Lennon's "Working Class Hero" at the end. That collab with Shirley Manson isn't half bad, but it’s definitely not the highlight for me. Honestly? The standout on this record is "Summer of '69".
U2's track "Stuck in a moment you can't get out of" is basically all about Michael Hutchence http://www.songfacts.com/detail.php?id=480 On his official site—link's up there somewhere—they've posted the full text of the book "Just a man," which his mom and sister wrote to finally tell the real story about who he actually was.
Can we just rename this thread to U2? My bad for getting the name wrong earlier. Anyway, has anyone actually listened to their comeback album "Switch" or maybe that "pretty Vegas" single? It’s alright, I guess—but let's be real, it just hits different when Michael Hutchence isn't there.
P.S. I swear I've spotted scraps of some old "U2" poster hanging around Wall Street more times than I can count. Does that mean they played a show in Chicago? Anyone remember that?
Honestly, I’d take No Doubt over Gwen Stefani any day—not that she isn't great, but the band? Total legends. Why? Because their discography is stacked... I mean, Sunday Morning, Running, Simple Kind of Life, Underneath It All, Don't Speak... I can't even list them all without getting tired. Plus, Gwen Stefani is killer, especially after catching that Rock Steady Live set. And man, that drummer? Absolute beast—everyone in that band is just completely unhinged in the best way possible.
What's the deal with this singer? All I know is he was the frontman for U2 and passed away back in '97 in Sydney. Does anyone still spin this band—and how do they even sound now that Michael's gone?
Kyle Jackson54 said:Bruce Springsteen isn't really my thing. 🙂
I mean, he's just the singer. Anyway, Rihanna definitely had the biggest hit even if that kind of music isn't my vibe. Personally, I think her song Shut up and Drive is way better—also from 2007. But hey, if we're talking about the biggest hits of the year in general rather than just my own taste... then for me, it's Kelly Clarkson.
(As for numbers 5, 7, and 10? Never heard 'em, so how could they possibly be the biggest hits??)
