Issues creating new folders! in IT Support ·
@all_or_nothing: Thanks a ton, looks like it actually worked!! 🙂 🙂

I'll try running through the process again once I'm back from my trip, but everything should be good to go now..

Hey guys!

The issue is still there, and even after running an antivirus scan, nothing turned up. If I remember correctly, this started happening really fast after I bought the laptop—maybe within a month or two of getting it.

I don't have any "external devices" plugged in besides the USB receiver for my wireless mouse. But the laptop freezes even when that USB is pulled out. Now that I think about it, a few days ago I was plugging and unplugging an external hard drive and a thumb drive, and things went a little crazy—I heard that USB disconnect sound pop up like 5 or 10 times in a row.

Reaching out because I picked up a new laptop about 8 months ago, specifically this one:

https://www.hp-store.com/product/hp-...n-6ec69ea/4925

And I'm already dealing with this stupid issue.

Here’s the deal: When I right-click on the desktop, hit "new," and then try to select "folder," the system hangs for like 5 seconds before the option actually shows up. It just stutters. I don't know how else to put it, but you get the idea. 😁

I’ve tried everything—installed the best antivirus I could find, ran CCleaner, used malware scanners to hunt for Trojans or whatever junk is hiding there, but nothing worked. Then I went ahead and did a full factory reset. Still the same result.

The laptop is running Windows 10 Home.

Anyone have a clue what's causing this? Is it a software glitch or a hardware problem?

Has anyone else dealt with this?

If I can't figure it out, I'll just drag it to a repair shop, but I’d really rather avoid that if possible.

Thanks!

Anyone got a solid GP recommendation around Brooklyn? I'm specifically near the Depot.

Thanks! 🙂
Hey everyone! 🙂

I’m posting because I’ve been dealing with something pretty weird for the last two weeks.
Normally, I’m someone who can't stand the heat, but lately, I've been feeling this strange "heat" inside my head that eventually spreads to my arms and legs. On top of that, my heart feels like it skips a beat every now and then, though it doesn't last long. My ears also feel weird, almost like there's constant drumming going on—could that be high blood pressure? Usually, my BP is quite low, around 90/60, so this is definitely out of character for me. I recently had blood work done and everything looked fine, and my thyroid tests came back normal too. Aside from the heat and the ear sensation, I feel okay otherwise and can go about my day normally. One thing I have noticed, though, is frequent headaches. Since I'm only 22, I highly doubt it's menopause. 😁 I’ve been wondering if it’s one of two things: First, I’m really sensitive to weather changes, and these temperature swings are killing me. Second, I have scoliosis, so I'm wondering if my spine could be causing this heat sensation. Has anyone else dealt with these weird symptoms? Any ideas what might be going on? :/

Thanks in advance for any help!

Donna Johnson16 said:those could be the early warning signs of pressure sores.

Body weight creates pressure between your bones, tissue, and whatever surface you’re sitting or lying on. If you don't shift positions enough, blood and lymph circulation drops so low that the tissue actually starts dying. For bedridden patients in hospitals, staying still for more than two hours is basically the red line—you have to move them to prevent open wounds. Being cold does pretty much the same thing to your skin and subcutaneous tissue.

Avoid sitting still for too long, wearing tight clothes like skinny jeans, or putting constant pressure on areas that are already looking red or dark.

Patients are usually told to watch their diet and hydration, but in your case, I'd say—get up at least every 45 minutes, stretch, massage the area, drink more plain water, and bump up your protein and Vitamin C intake. Find a different way to sit while studying or grab a better cushion for your office chair.

...

I went online to look up what pressure sores actually look like, and honestly, I'm glad I didn't see more.😲 Thanks for the input, everyone, but I really don't think I have that... 😉
Hey there! 🙂

Quick question about Co-Perineva 4 mg/1.25 mg:

I’ve gone through the entire list of side effects on the package insert, but I want to know if anyone here actually deals with throat irritation, sneezing, or watery eyes while taking it. I’m looking for real-world experiences because my mom hasn't stopped coughing since she started this medication..

Thanks!

What exactly?
I’ve been saying this for years now—instead of moving forward, we’re just regressing. Honestly, psychologically (and probably physically) abusing a partner, regardless of gender, is nothing short of monstrous. I don’t wish ill on anyone, but I’d love to see that same psychological torment turned back on the people responsible for what happened to that girl. Just to let them feel what it’s like when someone systematically strips away who you are, piece by piece. Unfortunately, we live in a country where concepts like equality, tolerance, and empathy feel totally foreign. Anything "different" is immediately labeled as sick, twisted, or unacceptable. Some people really need to clean up their own damn houses before they start preaching about everyone else. Or maybe it’s just pure frustration manifesting as a way to tear others down? Pathetic.

It reminds me of that old song: "America, America, my sweet America..."

I think it’s actually possible—you just fully embrace being gay. Once you truly accept that part of yourself and fall for a guy, women just sort of... stop existing to you. It’s like they fade into the background entirely.

Man, you actually got me laughing with that one. Seriously, I was tearing up. 🤣 I'm just not so sure I could pull off those kinds of sudden pivots myself. 🤷

I feel like I’ve said this a hundred times already, but I’ll say it again: sexuality isn't some black-and-white issue. It’s made up of a million different shades and nuances.

Look, Dušo, I’m not exactly looking at things in black and white, if that’s what you think. That’s actually the whole reason I’m asking these questions—I'm trying to figure out what kind of colors I actually have inside me. I can't seem to uncover them on my own, or maybe I’m just colorblind. 😵

Look, I’m trying to give you some constructive advice here. I’ve been chewing on this for a long time, but honestly, how am I supposed to just sit around and wait? This has been my reality for years now, and I've already cycled through seven or eight of these "crushes" that went nowhere. 😕 That’s the core of my struggle—this constant impatience and the way I miss out on opportunities because I’m always overthinking everything. I can't help but wonder if being this cautious actually counts as bravery, or if I'm just stuck. But what really keeps me up at night is whether all this mental gymnastics will eventually cause me to lose feelings for my boyfriend. We have this deep connection, and I’d hate to let my own neuroses get in the way of that. Maybe you have a point about how toxic society can be. It’s possible that my subconscious is holding me back, not because I’m actually afraid of changing my life, but because I’m terrified of the judgment from everyone around me. I worry about how my choices might affect him, or how my friends will react. Honestly, I’m spiraling a bit. I need to take a step back and process all of this. Thanks for the input. 😘

Honey? 😁
Look... the biggest issue here, in my opinion, is that you're already in a relationship. Now that I've realized that, I can't exactly give you advice like, "Go out and try dating that girl." 😁
placidwolf2 said:Thanks for the input. 😘 I get where you're coming from, and I've actually considered that possibility. Maybe I didn't make this clear enough, but when I fall for a woman, men basically cease to exist in my mind—I just don't perceive them anymore. 😕 It feels like an all-or-nothing situation for me; there isn't much middle ground. The real issue is what happens if I actually commit to a woman after having physical experiences with one. That pull is obsessive, yet at the same time, it absolutely terrifies me.

I know the general consensus is that sexual orientation mostly solidifies during adolescence, and back then, my feelings definitely leaned toward guys. That’s why I’m so conflicted. If anyone here knows the clinical take on this: is it actually possible to suddenly realize you're homosexual right as you're hitting thirty? When you're young, you just drift along without overthinking things like I am now. I'm scared to dive into something REAL that could completely overhaul my life, because part of me keeps telling me this is all just some temporary phase.🙄

I've said it a hundred times before and I'll say it again: sexuality isn't black and white.
It's made up of a million different shades.
A huge number of people experience attraction to the same sex without being able to put a label on it themselves. Some act on it, others just keep it as a fantasy. All I can tell you is to figure out what you actually want. If you want to feel a woman's touch, then go for it. If you think it's just a passing whim, then wait. Don't just rush in or drive yourself crazy overthinking it. People end up feeling miserable (like the OP here) when they realize they aren't strictly straight—not because they're "afraid" of themselves, but because we live in a society that still treats being gay as something unnatural or shameful. This is your life and your desires. At the end of the day, the only thing that matters is that YOU are happy, not the judgmental crowd surrounding us. Good luck! 😉
