Don't work too hard (but who’s going to do it if not you?), you're eight months along now, you have to be careful (oh, really??), and I love you so much, I'm just so happy, I can't wait for my grandchild!" Then it's: "Did you make some soup?" (I tell her no, I have nothing, I'll just grab a sandwich), and she goes, "Well, you can't, you need home-cooked food." Yeah—except she forgot to mention, "I'll cook it and send it over..." blah blah blah. Should I even mention how invisible I was to everyone—including my own family—during those first seven months?😠
They drive me insane: 50 3::5 03: Oh, I won't even write to Mom; she's a whole different story.☕
My mom actually helped a ton from the start—offering to come over to clean or iron, even when it wasn't necessary. She probably cleaned our place maybe five times during the whole pregnancy, and now I'm practically at the finish line. We can go over for lunch with my dad almost every day—we just have to call a day ahead so she knows how much to make. But she only invited us for holiday meals or maybe a weekend; early on, there were even little incidents where she'd cook mussels or something I wasn't allowed to eat, despite knowing the restrictions. So, it annoys me even more now that she's suddenly all mushy and constantly wants to touch my stomach (and the little one, just to spite me, refuses to move whenever she puts her hand 😂) and calls us for lunch every other day. Honestly, being pregnant during those first three months when I was bleeding was way worse than dealing with this belly situation now. Get lost...🙂

We didn't get an ultrasound photo, but we told our parents, though we asked them not to spread the word yet since it was still so early. The next checkup was at eleven weeks, after which my father-in-law called my mom to ask if I had been to the doctor, what they said, and if I was still actually pregnant 😕 It really ticked me off :m ad: I honestly think he won't believe it until he sees the bump, or maybe not even until I actually give birth :roll eyes:
Mine were the exact opposite—they were celebrating the second I got confirmation at six weeks.🤣

Even when I try to calmly explain that the ultrasound shows the baby is exactly where it should be for this stage, she just rolls her eyes and acts like doctors don't know anything about their own jobs...🙂
And get this—she won't let me buy a single thing for the nursery ahead of time because she's so superstitious. Apparently, since her son ended up sleeping in a stroller during his first few months because she refused to buy anything early, we have to follow the same pattern...🙂🙄
And she brings it up every single time, without fail!!!!
Ugh, I honestly can't stand superstitious women—it’s so draining. Honestly, if this were me, the constant nagging would drive me to stop visiting her entirely until after the baby is born.
