Can anyone recommend a solid build for under $1667? I'm looking to put this rig together primarily for gaming. It would be a huge plus if I could pick up all the parts on google.com. Also, just a heads-up: I definitely don't need an HDD.

EDIT: Just noticed you swapped out that I5. Any specific reason you went with the 4460 over the 4690k, or were you just trying to save some cash?
To be honest, I don't think he's going to mess around with overclocking, but this seems like the better way to go. His current RAM runs at 2400MHz, while the one being suggested is only 1600. Is that a massive gap? And if it is, what are we actually looking at? 😁I figured he picked that motherboard just because of the HDMI port, but whatever, it shouldn't be a dealbreaker. EDIT: Just got off the phone with him. Turns out that HDMI port is actually a pretty big deal. His monitor only supports D-Sub or HDMI.
I’m not going to start a whole new thread just to vent again, so I'll just drop this here and ask for some help. A buddy of mine is putting together a new build and asked if I could pick your brains. It's pretty similar to my own setup, but why guess when we can just ask?
Here’s the kicker: what kind of PSU should we pair with this, and any suggestions for a case? Also, I'd love some general feedback on the build itself. Can we do better? Is there anything else we're missing (we don't need an optical drive)? Should we invest in extra cooling fans right away? We're pretty much rookies at this, so we really need your guidance. Thanks! 🙂

I’m looking for a build that skips the HDD, RAM, case, and optical drive. Just give me the essentials: CPU, GPU, PSU, and the motherboard. If we can squeeze in a 64 GB SSD within the budget, even better. This setup is mainly for gaming, so an Intel + Nvidia combo would be ideal, though I'm not strictly tied to it. Since I'll be paying cash on delivery, I'd prefer ordering from somewhere like Micro Center or a similar retailer.

So, here’s the deal. I’m picking up an R7 250X because my budget is pretty tight right now. While looking at my power supply, I noticed it only has two Molex connectors and lacks a dedicated 6-pin port. However, the card comes with a DVI to VGA adapter and a 6-pin to 4-pin power cable. Does that mean I can just use that 6-pin to 4-pin adapter to pull power from the Molex instead?

You're better off waiting for someone else to post, maybe a Fosun or something, if you ask me. $183 -That price doesn't account for the case, which you didn't even mention. It’s ancient. It might have some value, sure, but who's actually going to buy this today?
