Carl Garcia22 said:I honestly don't get it—is it really that much of a struggle for people to just step up and admit when they've messed up? It feels like such a massive hurdle for some folks, you know? Like, instead of just owning the mistake and moving on, there's this whole elaborate dance of avoidance—it’s almost like watching someone try to fix a leaking pipe with nothing but Scotch tape and wishful thinking. Why make it so complicated? Just say, "Yeah, I blew it," and let's go from there.

People are tossing around labels like "insurgents" in these PDFs left and right—it’s getting ridiculous. And now, look at this one "exemplary" forum user... they’re handing out permanent bans without even bothering to check the facts first. Honestly, it feels like this isn't even the first time it's happened.

Yeah, honestly? That kind of moderation style has been hanging around for way too long. It’s one of those things that just feels off from the start. But, if I’m being totally real—I actually want to thank them for banning me. It basically just cleared out a corner of my life that was getting pretty toxic, you know? It’s like finally cleaning out a junk drawer or moving away from a neighborhood that was just draining your energy—sometimes you need that space to breathe.

Down in Miami, specifically inside the Torcida boxing gym over at the Poljud arena, there’s some serious training coming up—from October 17th through the 23rd—where the US and Italian national senior teams are going to be hitting the bags together.

Leading the charge for the Italian squad is Roberto Cammarelle, their national selection director—who, if you follow the sport, is a legendary Olympian and honestly one of the most decorated fighters in all of Europe.

This whole setup, including the big showdown between the US and Italy, is really just the latest chapter in this long-standing, incredibly productive partnership between the American Boxing Federation and the Italian Boxing Federation; it’s actually because of this bond that our guys get to head over to that top-tier National Boxing Center in Assisi quite often for training.

It’s a bit of a reunion, too—the Italians were visiting the States back in March 2021 for a fantastic dual meet held at the Grips arena, which was pretty impressive considering we were all dealing with those messy pandemic restrictions and social distancing rules at the time.

The Italian roster looks solid: Giuseppe Canonico and Danilo Mosconi at 60 kg, Paolo Di Lernia at 64 kg, Yoel Angeloni at 67 kg, Manuel Lombardi at 71 kg, Remo Salvati at 75 kg, Gerlando Tumminiello at 80 kg, Jesus Acosta at 86 kg, Mattia Facchini at 92 kg, and Diego Lenzi in the super heavyweight class; they'll be guided by coaches Carmine Cirillo, Michele Cirillo, and Roberto Cammarelle.

Representing the US during these sessions and the main match will be: Rostyslav Bilostotskyi at 57 kg; Patrik Licul and Tadej Černoga at 60 kg; Filip Poturović and Ivan Božac at 63.5 kg; Marin Jelačić, Dorjan Marko, and Deni Alagić at 67 kg; Krešimir Petar Knežević and Marijan Vujević at 71 kg; Noa Ježek and Petar Pavčec at 75 kg; Antonio Grabić and Dmitro Ribalko at 80 kg; Marko Ramljak, Matej Uremović, Nikica Radonjić, and Vito Košar at 86 kg; Marko Čalić and Ivica Bertić at 92 kg; and Marko Milun in the +92 kg slot, all under the direction of head coach Kristijan Hodak.

The right side of the pistol started working just like some kind of high-tech robot...

That logic just doesn't hold water with me—I mean, if you follow that line of thinking, you could basically grab a baseball bat tomorrow, beat someone to death, and then try to spin it as some sort of self-defense move because they "attacked" you first. It’s a slippery slope, really.

It isn't about logic for me, honestly—it's more about understanding that reaction... that raw, split-second reflex. We all have different personalities, right? Some people might handle a situation like this much smarter or stay calmer and just walk away without any drama. But I’m pretty convinced that if you put a lot of former or current boxers, MMA fighters, or kickboxers in that exact same spot, they’d probably react in a very similar way.

So, there’s this tourist—Mohammed Fadel Dobbous, born in Kuwait but holds Irish citizenship—who ended up in quite a mess. Apparently, he was just at a corner store in Istanbul, trying to grab a bottle of water from the fridge.

The thing is, the shop owner lost his cool because when Dobbous opened those glass doors, he basically sent every single bottle flying off the shelves. Just total chaos.

In the footage, you see the owner charging at this former boxer with a wooden stick. Dobbous tries to defend himself by grabbing the stick and tossing it aside, but then a whole crowd starts swarming in, backing the shopkeeper up.

Once that clip hit the internet, the local police swooped in and arrested Dobbous immediately. He was facing some pretty serious charges—assault and causing grievous bodily harm.

But Dobbous isn't buying any of it; he’s maintaining that the whole situation was just one massive misunderstanding.

"When the bottles fell, the guy in the shop tried to swing at me with a stick," he said. "I grabbed him and threw him off. I was disoriented. Then someone else came after me. One guy even tried to stab me in the back. I knew if I went down while they were attacking me, I was finished."

Ultimately, the judge cleared Dobbous of all charges, ruling it self-defense. Meanwhile, the shop owner, Senol Punel, was sentenced to three and a half years—though he’s already served that time.

Looking at that first YouTube video—the one where the guy is protecting his girlfriend—it looks totally intentional how he provoked her, sort of "soothing" her, then hitting and pushing her away. You can see them approaching, and when they were still a few feet out, he glances to his left to gauge the distance, and then just as they reach him, he turns slightly and hooks her with his arm to move her. If the guy is just high-strung and views the situation as a threat to his girl—you know, those low-life thugs who mess with couples while they're walking—then honestly? It makes sense to me that he stepped up and handled them.

When you're looking at those 3-on-3 or 10-on-10 scenarios—you know, all that wrestling and Jiu-Jitsu stuff—I honestly don't think that's the smartest way to handle things. Boxing or kickboxing techniques... they just feel a lot safer in a real situation.

I remember being there personally with my buddy when we arrived early in the morning at Union Station in Chicago on the day of the big rivalry game. Looking back, we were incredibly naive. To be fair, they didn't actually want to beat us up, and they weren't some elite fighters either—I was probably about 20 years older than them, and my friend was maybe 16 or 17, which is likely what they were too—but they did snatch his shirt. I tried to grab it back after handing it over, but then the two of them split up—two on him, two on me. One guy just stood there watching while me and the other guy down on the ground were basically having this childish scuffle, grappling and tugging at shirts, until some guy from a nearby shop yelled out, "Hey, come on, leave him alone! It's 2-on-1, just get outta here!" My buddy ended up losing a bunch of expensive sunglasses, and I ended up out in the cold—maybe 50 degrees and damp—across the street near the market area. We ducked into some half-empty cafe because we figured they might be waiting for us again, and my head was absolutely pounding; I eventually got hit and slammed into the ground in the park.

There really should have been one more person with us—someone from my year who was seriously built and knew how to scrap, since he used to train privately with his brother and stuff like that. If he’d been there, they probably would have brought even more people, since word had already gotten out from the bus that we were arriving. He would've chased them off—they wouldn't have dared—plus, we were carrying around nearly a full bottle of whiskey, which could've easily been used as a weapon.

So, that guy and another kid from my grade? They both ended up joining the military. Their actual fight happened back in elementary school, maybe fourth or fifth grade—I don't know if it was ever officially recorded. If cell phones and the internet had been a thing back then, there would've been millions of clips of it circulating on YouTube. Even now, almost two decades later, there are about ten of us who were standing around them, essentially forming a makeshift ring, still retelling the story.

There was even this older kid, maybe in eighth grade, acting as the referee. They went through about 8 or 9 bloody rounds of free-style fighting before it ended with the loser being shoved into the drainage ditch by the local playground and getting slammed onto his back five or six times. There was talk of a rematch—that the referee, who was actually the loser's neighbor (the same guy who was supposed to go to Chicago with us that time, the one with that whole anecdote about the season opener voucher derby), would train him for it—but it never happened.

We were split into different classes from fifth through eighth grade, so I'm not sure if those two ever spoke or what their relationship is like today, especially since they've both grown into successful adults with totally different personalities and don't even live in the same state anymore.

How did Tom Clancy manage to recover and then turn the tables on Mickey Mouse in the Z-4, considering he was just sitting there when the guy landed that hit? It's all over YouTube—I'd love to hear your take on it, placidtiger142. You always write such insightful stuff, seriously, props to you
The Spaniards might actually pull off a hat trick and grab their third straight Euro title! I mean, wasn't River coaching the squad back when they absolutely crushed Dance in that 2013 final? shadowcobra89 is spot on—it’s not only in handball, either. Sure, there are always outliers—like back in 2016 when the Germans just tore them apart in the championship game—but generally speaking, once they grind their way into a final, man, you really don't want to be the one standing across from them.

Yeah. Does he even have his own signature sound, or is he just basically pigeonholed into that whole "lightweight, catchy pop" category?

Sometimes, honestly, it’s just better to be a solid B-list success—someone who actually connects with the masses—rather than trying to be the next big thing like "Vuco."

Honestly, this guy is a total jerk. Someone needs to get Bruno to talk him into giving his take on those tennis finals at the Olympic Games—man, he’s such a die-hard tennis fanatic, probably one of the biggest walking encyclopedias of the sport in the modern era (I actually saw him on some YouTube trivia show once, I think it was the one with Luke from Pursuit and that Beauty and the Genius duo)

It’s definitely not all black and white—things aren't always that simple. If something is glaringly obvious, sure, you can wrap it up in a couple of sentences. This forum exists for debate, after all. As for whether something was ripped off or if there should actually be a penalty involved? Well, that’s not really my call to make.

I mean, I just copied over an article about Mati Parlov a little bit ago myself.

Just looking at this from the sidelines—listening to you guys on TV and catching bits of the terrace chatter—it feels like there’s a lack of real leadership out there. I mean, look, it’s not like you’ve got some massive, world-class anthem repertoire, but you definitely have five or six solid tracks. Regardless, you Blubacs seem built for that raw, hardcore energy—the kind of stuff involving pure shouting, heavy drums, and just going absolutely wild. I don't mean that in a bad way at all; honestly, it was such a blast listening to the Boys' chants back before everything started falling apart around 2010.

Well, I won't go so far as to claim you're lying, but I don't personally know anyone quite like that.

According to the Bible, stoning a thief is the only way to handle it properly.

I edited the quote in my previous post just for a bit of comedic effect. I hope you aren't offended; there was no malice intended.

I'm not lying. Honestly—whenever I get a chance to sit down at my PC, I am absolutely hooked. But it’s true. Look, I know a guy—this old man, a total kleptomaniac, a huge patriot, a devout Christian, and a die-hard conservative all rolled into one. He’s been trying to pilfer things from me here and there, so whenever he does, I just end up scolding him with whatever fruit happens to be within arm's reach.
