Dealing with Erythema Nodosum in Health ·
granitebadger25 really made my day today.
Thanks, granitebadger25!

granitebadger25 said:The reason is that textbook descriptions of diseases are almost always just copied straight from American medical literature.😉
Basically, how sarcoidosis progresses and its overall prognosis depends heavily on race and the specific geographic region where it pops up.
For instance, you see severe forms of sarcoidosis in Black populations in the United States, but not in Africa... Puerto Ricans living in New York City show it, but not those in other parts of America... Irish women living in New York City exhibit it, but not those back home in Ireland...
The highest rates of sarcoidosis are actually found in Scandinavia, but there, the disease takes on a completely benign form—the acute type with erythema nodosum.
On the flip side, they don't see erythema nodosum at all in Japan.

It's a total circus, and nobody really knows why... 😕

In the United States, the "Scandinavian" type is currently the most common version we see.😉

Man, this is an extremely interesting disease. You see? Even pulmonology can be pretty fascinating if you look closely...😁

Man, I don't know...

Honestly, my allergies feel like winning the jackpot compared to sarcoidosis, at least based on everything I remember reading about what that disease actually does...

It’s totally possible it was just a reaction to a streptococcus infection, like granitebadger25 mentioned.

Either way, I'm really hoping it has nothing to do with sarcoidosis...
Dealing with bone spurs? in Health ·
Yeah, honestly, that usually starts creeping in once you hit your twenties, so there's really no reason to stress about it. Besides, there’s often a huge gap between what an X-ray shows and how you actually feel...

To Gatorade smells and tastes a bit too much like Charlie's laundry detergent for my liking, and I've got a nagging feeling it's just loaded with sugar, too.
Dealing with bone spurs? in Health ·
Bone spurs are basically little bony growths that pop up when your joints start showing signs of wear and tear, usually right along the edges.

An incipient osteophyte is just a fancy way of saying a bone spur is just starting to form—it's still in those very early stages.

Have you been dealing with any knee pain lately? This could be an early sign of some arthritic changes setting in...

Arthur Barnes, come on, don't mess with me here 😁

Is your brain actually fried from all that studying?

spavanje said:Unlike in the US, only a tiny fraction of drugs in the EU have actually been tested for side effects in children.

Do you really think we have one set of medications and Americans have another? Not at all. We're using the exact same stuff on both sides of the Atlantic; it's just that some drugs aren't registered in the EU while others aren't approved in the US. Most medications overlap heavily and are used everywhere... even generics are identical, they just go by different brand names.

For example, take Sumamed—I believe that’s called Azithromycin, Zithromax, or something similar over there...

Quite a situation here.

I wouldn't do it if I were you. I don't know how you feel about it, but personally, I’d try to hold out without antibiotics entirely... or at least ask for one that's been thoroughly tested and is completely safe.

Back when I was at Sunflower, the staff over at Savannah Women would wipe everything down after every single person. I’m the same way—I always make sure to clean up after myself no matter what, and if I don't see the staff doing it, I'll just jump in and do it myself...

A friend of mine was on Accutane last year, and they had her getting blood work done every three or four weeks at her doctor's office in Chicago.

We’ve picked up gold at the Brussels Eureka fair in '94, gold and silver from Innova in '96, gold from ExxonMobil in '00, and both silver from Geneva and Nautica in '03. Beyond those innovation awards, we had our functional testing done by the Mayo Clinic, and if you happened to swing by the Medicine and Tech expo last week, you could have seen the testing performed by the American Academy of Pediatrics. There are plenty of other quality control reports out there too.

American Academy of Pediatrics 😂 😂

Wait, are these the same people who hand out those "Doctor of Energy Medicine" titles???

I mean, what kind of testing did they actually use to issue you guys a certificate???

How’s everyone doing with their progress?

So, I’ve cut out soup for a month now—down 3.5 lbs
Just keeping things steady for now...😁

Those glasses protect you from UV rays, which are incredibly intense and can easily penetrate even thin eyelids. If you skip them, you might not notice anything right after a session at the tanning salon, but the damage hits you years down the road.

It’s honestly non-negotiable to wear them. Anyone suggesting otherwise clearly doesn't understand the basic science behind it or isn't using their common sense...

They're so low-profile that you won't end up with any weird white rings around your eyes, since they're designed to cover just the eyelid area.

There’s no permanent cure for this, you can really only manage the symptoms.

There are so many options out there, so just try to find whatever works best for you.
I’ve been using Letitia lately, and honestly, it hasn't been too bad...

I’ve heard of this one:
www.rheumatology.org

But honestly, I’m not really sure if there’s anything specifically tailored for RA... I just don't know...
Hahaha, none of them.

I mean, maybe Tae-Bo, just because you don't have to worry about too much choreography...
