Man, what a disaster.

They aren't some fancy imports either. These are documentaries made right here in the States. So, what do you think? Look, it’s hit or miss. Some documentaries actually grab you, others are just straight-up garbage. Total waste of time.

Don't forget, I miss my old life too. You wake up in the morning and deal with bad breath? That’s just part of the grind. But honestly, that's no excuse to settle for someone who looks like they haven't seen a gym or a mirror in a decade. Don't marry a disaster just because you're having a rough start to the day.

Relativism is a beautiful thing, isn't it? Especially when we need to give our own guys a pass. 😁

Honestly, it kind of kills me that a huge chunk of people watching don't have a single good thing to say about our side during the war. It’s pretty rough to see. Makes me wonder who's actually pulling the strings behind this channel, though. Just curious.

Honestly, I couldn't care less who pulls the strings behind the scenes. Every now and then, I just want to sit down and catch some old American classics—stuff like Marathon Runners, Spy, or even Štefica Cvek in the Maelstrom.
And if we're being honest, I’ll even sit through heavy hitters like Breaking Bad, Game of Thrones, Person of Interest, or True Detective.

I'm not really glued to a classic TV network, nor am I checking HBO or Cinemax constantly, and I rarely bother with the local networks either.
So, frankly, I don't give a damn about the ownership or the political leanings of whatever station is broadcasting.
What kind of paranoia is driving you, anyway? Care to share?

Casey Cox2 said:Fair point. That’s probably one of the most played movies on cable TV or satellite channels nowadays—you know, those endless loops of *Dick Tracy*, Nick Lang's *Smoking Gun*, *Party Crasher*, or *Frog Dog*.

Well, I don't really watch much TV, so I can't say for sure.

I only saw it once a long time ago, so my memory is a bit fuzzy on the details, but I do remember absolutely losing it laughing. 😁

Look, there are still a few of us left who actually remember that movie. 😁

I think he's actually in Steve Jobs

Yeah, I see he's in Steve Jobs. Honestly though, I just can't bring myself to sit through that movie.

He was also in Casino, Once Upon a Time in America, and Nixon...

I mostly remember him from an old comedy with Michael J. Fox—it was ages ago. He played this incredibly high-strung detective, and if I recall correctly, he was pretty fantastic in it.

Ah, there it is: The Hard Way.

goldentinker70 said:Hands down, he’s the finest actor on the planet!

To be honest, I can't say I've sat through much of his filmography.
John Q., I remember watching him back then and knowing exactly what kind of man he was.
I actually caught a glimpse of him in some movie—I can’t quite recall the title, though. He plays some sort of soldier; I’m not entirely sure if he’s the one being interrogated or the guard conducting the session, but there's definitely an interrogation scene involved. It feels like a classic from at least twenty years ago. Does anyone happen to recognize the film?

Perhaps this one... They say you can't have one without the other, and honestly, looking at the way things play out in both arenas, I’m starting to believe them. There is a certain structural similarity between a messy breakup and a tactical skirmish that most people tend to overlook because they’re too busy being blinded by emotion. In war, you prepare for the worst-case scenario. You build fortifications, you scout the terrain, and you try to anticipate every possible move your opponent might make. It’s all about defense and calculated strikes. Now, take romance—if you approach a relationship with that same level of defensive maneuvering, you’ve already lost. You spend so much energy building walls to protect your heart that there’s no room left for anyone to actually walk through the front door. But then, there’s the flip side. Once the conflict starts—whether it’s a legal battle over assets or just a heated argument in a kitchen in Chicago—the "rules" of engagement shift. Suddenly, the diplomacy is gone, and you’re left with raw, unvarnished friction. In war, once the peace treaty is signed, you move on. In love, even after the "treaty" is reached, the ghosts of the old battles tend to linger in the hallways, much like how a small town in the Midwest never quite forgets a local scandal. It’s a delicate balance. You want enough vulnerability to allow for connection, but enough strategy to ensure you aren't completely leveled when things go south. It's a bit like playing chess while someone is constantly trying to change the shape of the board. A tricky game, to say the least.?

I have to agree, he’s a solid actor. It’s just that I haven’t actually sat down to watch one of his films in quite a while.

I’ve tried watching it five different times, and every single time, I just ended up passing out. 🤷

Well, what do I know? Personally, I thought it was a solid film. I almost skipped it when I first saw the subject matter, but it didn't disappoint.
Plus, I think Hilary Swank is a fantastic actress.

goldentinker70 said:I'm not sure if he made the cut—but honestly, he’s a total mediocrity to me.
It's the same story with Richard Gere, regardless of how much women apparently swoon over him.🙄

Meh. It was pretty lackluster. Reminds me a bit of some scavenger out in the wild.

Those are great films, sure, but in every single one of them, he looks like a guy who just lost his best friend and his dog in the same afternoon. 🤷

Keanu Reeves—honestly, the guy has exactly one facial expression: a total blank stare. Don't get me wrong, he was pretty solid in The Matrix, but that’s about the only time I actually liked him.

🤣
slywolf45: I just can't stand Gwyneth Paltrow. She comes off as such a total brat in every single movie she’s in. And don't even get me started on that Academy Awards ceremony where she and her colleague Halle Berry spent half an hour crying... god, it was so awkward. I actually had to change the channel because I couldn't handle the secondhand embarrassment.

I honestly can't stand Keira Knightley. I’m not even going to bother commenting on her work because, let's be real, I'm totally biased. I just don't like her.

Halle Berry is actually a decent actress, if you ask me.

Honestly, I don't even see Gwyneth Paltrow as an actress. She’s more like Martinov's lady or the mother of that Apple company, you know? Or take Jennifer Garner—she's basically just the ultimate surrogate for Ben Affleck's kids. 🤷 I know exactly how much that chicken coop influence messes with people. 🙈 Honestly, those good dealers hit the spot like a charm, and I was just sitting there waiting for a whole pack of kids to follow suit: 🙏
So, you want to know about Keira Knightley? What kind of movies does she do? Honestly, it depends on your mood. You’ve got her in stuff like *Pride & Prejudice* if you're feeling classy, or you can check out *Pirates of the Caribbean* if you want some action. She's been in plenty of big things, too—everything from period dramas to more modern flicks. It’s a pretty wide range, really.

🤣

It’s either those soft, sentimental little romances—think Pride and Prejudice or Love Actually—or she’s just part of some endless Pirates of the Caribbean franchise. That's pretty much the spectrum.

I’d also throw in Angelina Jolie's role in that Rudanicin flick, maybe another Hanging performance, or anything else starring Keira Knightley. 😳

goldendrifter19 said:How on earth she snagged an Academy Award over someone like Cate Blanchett is still a mystery to me. For a year or two, everyone treated her like she was some kind of legend, but she’s really not all that—and frankly, I have no clue what she does now, besides running some wellness blog and filming yet another sequel to Iron Man.

Someone else mentioned Depp above. I actually used to like him—some of his nineties stuff still holds up—but the man has turned into a total caricature of himself. Sometimes I think Jack Sparrow was the worst thing to ever happen to his career. It's like he forgot you can actually act without being a cartoonish mess, overacting, or working with Tim Burton.

I’m with you—that Academy Award win felt pretty arbitrary to me too, though at this point, the whole thing isn't exactly a reliable barometer for actual quality.
She’s just... I don't know, a total non-entity.🤷

Let’s talk about how many times we end up mentioning Nicolas Cage, an actor who seems to possess exactly one facial expression: the "sad puppy" look.

Then there’s Keanu Reeves, who also appears to operate with a single setting: a total blank slate. Don't get me wrong, he was perfectly fine in The Matrix, but that’s really where his range ends for me.

As for Gwyneth Paltrow—I just can't bring myself to like her. She comes across as incredibly precious and whiny in every single role. And don't even get me started on that Academy Award ceremony where she spent half an hour sobbing (alongside her colleague Halle Berry)... honestly, it was so awkward I actually had to change the channel to escape the secondhand embarrassment.🙈

I find Keira Knightley completely unappealing too, but I won't go into detail there; I know I’m being biased.

*To be fair, Halle Berry is actually a decent actress.

Jerry Rogers6 said:Honestly, this is just pure nonsense—if someone isn't capable of maintaining a coherent line of communication with the administration, they should just go find themselves a different subreddit to hang out in.

Furthermore, I can't help but feel like this is just another predictable thread in an endless cycle of repetitive topics. Déjà vu. Again. Who exactly is trying to step in and meddle with policy regulation? That’s really the core question here—who is primarily pushing for that kind of interference?
Look, I’m not going to dive into all the granular details right now—that’s a conversation for another time. I'll just say this: if we want this PDF to actually turn into something meaningful, it comes down to individual effort. If everyone who actually gives a damn about this takes the initiative to contribute, we can significantly boost the quality of the final document. It’s really about personal accountability here—improving the caliber of our own input while showing a bit more respect for perspectives that don't align with our own.

Look, it wouldn’t hurt to take a step back and look at how people approach this whole thing—honestly. We really need to address the general mindset here. If the individuals who are so desperate to carve their names into the margins of historical fact would just realize that certain eras are already settled, documented, and universally accepted, we might actually get somewhere. Instead, we have people constantly trying to rewrite the past—essentially forcing modern biases onto history like they're trying to reshape reality itself—all while aggressively fabricating some imaginary version of the future. If everyone stopped trying to "re-interpret" what’s already been decided and stuck to the actual record, this entire PDF would finally be able to breathe. It would be a much healthier discussion if we weren't constantly fighting against people's attempts to bend the truth to fit their current agendas.

When you approach political engagement through aggressive interventions—essentially trying to force everyone into a single, "correct" way of thinking—you basically guarantee your own isolation. It’s a self-defeating cycle: anyone who falls for that style of dogmatic shouting is ultimately just left stumbling around in the dark, unable to see the reality of the situation. Meanwhile, any actual, thoughtful conversationalist worth their salt is going to walk away, looking for an opponent who actually values a real debate over a forced monologue.
The mods and the admin team aren't actually to blame for why we can't have a decent, high-quality conversation here—it’s not their job to fix the culture. At the end of the day, real dialogue starts with the individual. If you want better discussions, you have to start by being a better participant yourself.

comment section ftw. 👍

casualraven said:Man, I honestly didn't even realize it was Jared Leto in this movie until I finished watching it and actually went looking up some details online. 😁

What they did to him and Matthew McConaughey... what a show.
Great flick.

I ended up doing a quick Google search because I had this nagging feeling that I’d seen the actor somewhere before.🤣

As for James Garner... honestly, she did a decent enough job with the role.
Nothing groundbreaking here, really. It’s not like every single role in a movie needs to be an Oscar contender to be worthwhile. To me, it felt like her character was primarily there to serve a specific narrative purpose: to show that not every doctor is just another cog in the machine of a predatory Big Pharma corporation. You know, there are still empathetic professionals out there who aren't just chasing a paycheck. 😳

I honestly don't grasp why anyone finds quoting so bothersome (unless we're talking about quoting an entire novel).
I just don't get it.
I mean, what's the point of editing a post when you can just quote properly? That way, everything remains perfectly clear, and you can see exactly who said what to whom without any guesswork.

As for those rules Henry Edwards33 was quoting from the Department of Commerce... there's absolutely no way something like that is actually in the rulebook. If you try to reply to a specific post, but five other people jump in before you can hit send, it becomes an absolute mess trying to figure out who you were even talking to. Quoting is honestly a necessity if we want to maintain any semblance of order. 😳

Will that one get scrubbed too? Or will they finally issue a warning that sarcasm isn't exactly welcome around here?

It actually reminds me of those folks over in Pojtonovac and that old skit about the Piran brothers. You had one guy who was a literal menace, and then the other was arguably worse because he weaponized sarcasm. 😁

To be honest, I’ve always found ŽUD to be a bit of a dead end, so I usually just skim through it occasionally without bothering to weigh in.
