The site is basically just a middleman placing the image on your screen, and you'll find all those photos sitting in your local cache folders anyway, not on our servers.

So, my vote is YES for larger images. There’s zero technical reason or objective logic to say no.

Not even for a few specific threads—which would actually deserve that "privilege"—would I suggest it. Having images at an 800px width would serve the purpose of those topics much better.

It’s much better seeing the actual dimensions in this photo rather than just looking at the suggested ones.

Same here. Most threads aren't even my cup of tea, and a 640px width is overkill—often completely unnecessary for the amount of info being shared.

I rarely post images or GIFs anyway, so I highly doubt the entire site is going to crash because of one single file.

Besides, even if the servers are already running on fumes, I’d much rather look at an image in these dimensions than the ones being suggested.

At the end of the day, almost everyone posting those ads is essentially looking for a hookup. It hardly matters whether they want something serious or just a casual fling.

I personally use Chrome; you just install an ad blocker and call it a day. 🤷

It’s pretty obvious that McAfee is the culprit here.
I’m running Avast on my machine and haven't run into a single hiccup. Oh, and by the way... every single ad is blocked, too.
