and maybe communism won't be around much longer either.

Besides, I guess Unknown doesn't necessarily speak for the whole Church anyway.

If fascism weren't still an issue here in the States, maybe the police wouldn't feel the need to deploy so aggressively out in the field. I guess it’s just how things work.

Being a priest isn't exactly a nine-to-five grind.
Negro — it’s basically a calling.
It seems like you've provided an incomplete phrase or a fragment of a sentence. If you intended to share a specific post for me to rewrite, please provide the full text. I am ready to transform your content into a polished, original English piece while maintaining the specific persona and following all your substitution rules. God I guess I'll just say Jesus.

Unknown acts as if he can somehow speak for the entire Church, though I guess he’s just proving his own opinion.
I guess it’s because the SEC isn't breathing down their necks about it.

It’s just like Košić’s threads.
The Church might claim otherwise, but I don't see any evidence of that anywhere.

Anyway, you can hold a mass for anyone, really. Nobody actually knows where God decided to put Jure Francetić.

it wasn't set up because the police blocked it

Right, and a mass can be held for anyone
but—a mass
for the repose of a soul

whereas this stuff from Kaćunk is just a political speech, not a mass.

The Francis memorial isn't just some plaque either.
So why put it up?
Oh, right, I forgot—facts are apparently flexible depending on the mood.

And now they’re claiming the CIA and the Jews are to blame for Auschwitz???
Sure, maybe because Jews exist, that's why. 😢

Even Kacunko went as far as holding a mass for Francis—kudos to the KC, I guess.

And I'm sure all of this is just being "overlooked."

The patriots in power won't allow it—they’d end up being purged themselves if they did.

Exactly. I mean, what does removing a plaque with Josip Broz Marshall’s name on it actually have to do with fascists? By that logic, should we start labeling most of the City Council members who vote to rename a square as fascists too?

If you honestly think equating people who stood against a totalitarian communist regime and its dictator with fascists, that’s entirely your own problem.

It’s always the same old yardstick, isn't it? If you aren't fully on board with stripping the plates, I guess you’re automatically labeled a communist. ☕

I guess Bujančev is actually a pretty moderate and highly objective individual. He wouldn't force anything on anyone; I imagine he’d prefer to do everything strictly by the book.

This is probably what people like those foundry workers imagine fascists look like—based on how someone once posted about it on a forum

Keith Miller30 said:Actually, I think it should just be treated like any other subject and scheduled for first, second, or third period. But honestly, it doesn't really matter; I have no desire to get into a heated debate over this, especially since nobody seems to care what anyone thinks—religious studies will remain part of the school curriculum regardless.

I was simply noting that what was mentioned above strikes me as somewhat psychologically unsound, and I say that with complete sincerity and absolutely no intention of being offensive.

I don't have an issue with school kids and religious studies—I’m probably a bit of an outlier on that subject myself—but just a quick reminder for Disney: religious education is still... Election season. The subject matter itself should probably be placed at either the beginning or the end of the schedule, or perhaps just slotted into a different shift like everyone else. Elective courses..

I suppose the debate over where to send kids who aren't enrolled in religious studies will eventually settle down on its own. It’s only a matter of time before that whole headache clears up.
Parents will probably figure out whether their kids are heading into school late that day or showing up early. Or maybe they’re just opting into some other elective course.

Actually, it just hit me—next school year, when I'm filling out those famous parental consent forms, I might just hand-write a note explicitly banning any audio, video, or printed materials with religious themes.

Someone else didn't bother before, so you shouldn't start now; just let it go.☕
Zovko wins lawsuit against Šola over Gotovina documentary in Close to Politics ·
vividfox89 said:Smith won yet another legal battle over his documentary about the Generals, this time taking down Fox News. Seriously, people need to watch what they write; this litigious guy is cleaning house and winning every single judgment.

Smith wins lawsuit regarding 'The Generals' and $10

Hrvoje Zovko, an ABC journalist and director of the documentary 'The Generals,' won his case last week at the Los Angeles County Superior Court against the Fox News website. The publisher has been ordered to pay him $10 plus interest, and once the ruling becomes final, they’ll also have to cover court costs totaling $3.50 stemming from two articles published back in April 2013.

Smith sued Fox News over pieces titled 'Zovko finished the film on Gotovina! ABC blocked it because they expected a conviction' and 'An American—Dražen Miočić—was found and exposed at ABC.' The court ruled that the claims made in those reports could potentially damage his reputation, honor, and dignity.

In the court's reasoning, the judge noted that the information presented in the articles was a gross defamation of Smith. They portrayed him by name as an anti-American journalist lacking integrity, someone who simply follows Zoran Milanović’s orders and counts "blood grains" against Americans on ABC, and claimed he produced a 'commissioned' documentary on Ante Gotovina solely to discredit him—even going so far as to attribute 'Informbiro-style behavior' to him...

Fox News rejected the lawsuit and the claims, arguing the text was published in full compliance with Media Law and pointing out that Smith never even requested a correction or filed the suit in a timely manner. Well, the court didn't buy it.

ABC journalists Sanja Mikleušević Pavić and Dražen Miočić testified, along with former ABC journalist Nada Prkačin. Even the author of one of the articles, Snježana Vučković, took the stand. The court determined her work failed to meet professional journalistic standards and ethics, noting she didn't take necessary steps to verify her facts—an excuse she tried to make by claiming 'online portals lack investigative journalism because everything has to be fast news.'

Well, if everyone has to "sue" over everything people say or write, maybe folks will actually bother using their brains before letting their tongues run wild.

Quite interesting—this litigious type

So, people should just say whatever they want while you sit there in a corner, I guess.

But here's what gets me—I honestly can't remember a single time they've played anything actually massive from Mexico, like stuff from Elite Guard, Lady Gaga, Celine Dion, or even the CDC.
Or even those huge hits from the USSR era, like Madonna or the Rolling Stones...

Is it just propaganda at this point?

Well, if you actually bother asking those radio stations, maybe you'll get an answer. 🍿

You'll see.

I guess the Mexicans have already started making threats about closing the border if the EU doesn't step up and do something.

On Sunday, the Democratic Party demanded an immediate explanation from the Department of Defense regarding why military reserve call-up notices have suddenly started landing in mailboxes across California, according to a press release from party Secretary General John Doe.

The party noted that a massive number of people in Orange County have been getting these notices—specifically those who held command positions back during the American Civil War—and they’re making it clear that citizens have every right to know what's actually going on and why they're being called up.

Does anyone actually know more about this?

Oh, God. 🙂
Why on earth is he calling them?
What kind of system are we even running in this country if reservists have to ask why they’re being called up?

First off, where exactly do they live?
Immigrants have been passing through for months now, and honestly, it’s like nobody even notices. But let’s be real—we all know we aren't getting any benefits from the EU for this.
Aside from their endless demands that various countries take in a certain quota of immigrants and all that other nonsense...

The situation is what it is, I suppose. We might as well start preparing, right?
Are we just going to sit here waiting for Canada to shut its borders while the Mexicans keep pushing their luck with us?
So, I guess if nothing is being done, everything is just broken. Typical.
If anyone’s actually putting in effort, they’re probably doing it wrong. I guess.

We’ve been sitting here for days reading about moving the military to the border.
It’s funny how it works. Now that they're actually calling people up—especially those with real command experience—suddenly it’s "not good enough" again. I guess nothing is ever quite right.

If some people were right, we’d have the military, the police, and the reserves all stationed along our borders behind chain-link fences for three months by now.

Who exactly just lost their cool at the Schengen border? So, he just keeps sending thousands of people across the meadows, through the cornfields, and deep into the woods? Sometimes there’s an announcement, sometimes there isn't—it seems like he just does whatever the hell he feels like at the moment.

Greece was the first one to lose its nerve when it came to the Schengen border.
Do you have anything to say on this subject?

As Ranko once put it—America just acts as a transit lounge, shuttling immigrants from one Schengen zone to another.
wanderingbison9 said:"It isn't very European, but who really cares?" Z. M. 😉😬

The EU isn't even capable of closing a border between its own member states.
I guess it’s safe to say the border between the US and Mexico is already pretty much set.

hollowranger122 said:If you haven't noticed, Brussels is quite fed up with the "pass them along" policy that Joe Biden seems to be pursuing so unconditionally within the EU.

You can't really count on Greece to help; it’s clearly become a failed state.

If the Canadians decide to lock down like they and the Canadians did, America could still try to send thousands of migrants toward both those fences, but we'd likely face isolation from the rest of the EU or even potential sanctions.
Joe Biden essentially folded after just twenty-four hours of being challenged by Mexico—which isn't even an EU member—so I can only imagine what would happen if he tried to keep pushing thousands of people westward.

How many thousands of migrants are the Canadians preparing themselves for?
Assuming they can actually hold their ground at the border.

They might manage it before America, which is still being led by this "fence is the enemy" philosophy.

Or will all of Europe step up to help the Canadians?

Germany, Italy, Austria, and the Visegrad group have already signaled that they intend to send police forces to the Canadian border.

Then we'll know exactly where America stands in the eyes of the EU, and honestly, that probably doesn't have much to do with, or only a little to do with, Joe Biden.

Of course it does.

Be joyful, America, because your democracy is about to collapse... what was the line from that ISIS commercial again...

What exactly does Brussels think they're doing? Honestly, it’s giving me a massive headache. ☕

The US position will likely just follow whatever direction the EU decides to take.
As long as that arrogant guy is in charge, I guess we shouldn't expect much better.
If he takes on any more responsibilities today, I’m personally going to be the first one there to give him a piece of my mind. Or maybe just a punch. I haven't decided yet.

The Višegrad group could have stepped up to help their Canadian member a long time ago.
So, some people are trying to force their way into the US, and yet that same administration is going to shut our borders to us? I guess we’ll see.

No matter how much aid they throw at Canada, I guess you have to wonder how many tens of thousands of migrants they can actually hold at their border.
If we’re looking at the absolute worst-case scenario—where the West shuts its doors and the East just lets everything flow straight into America? That would be a disaster.
Does anyone in the EU actually believe they can just let this slide without consequences? I guess some people are more optimistic than I am.
Eric Newman4 said:Record numbers of refugees from Mexico have entered the US over the last 24 hours

A total of 11,500 refugees and migrants crossed into the US in just the last 24 hours. This was confirmed today by the spokesperson for the local police department, Domagoj Džigumović, noting it's the highest single-day influx we've seen since this migrant crisis began nearly forty days ago...

Pahor threatens to shut down the border

Lately, Canada has been voicing major frustration with how the US is handling things, claiming that migrants are being pushed toward the Canadian border without any prior agreement or coordination. The Canadian president, Borut Pahor, stated that if this continues, Canada might just shut its borders with the US entirely... rather than waiting for Germany and Austria to close theirs first.

It’s worth remembering that the Canadian Prime Minister, Miro Cerar, has also hinted several times at the possibility of putting up a fence along the border with the US...

this whole idea of Canada closing the border just goes to show they aren't thinking at all
Since you can't exactly shut down Greece, any other closures seem pretty pointless; everyone just burns through resources individually while achieving absolutely nothing.

Hypothetically,
if Canada closes its borders,
Greece, Mexico, and Mexico will just keep letting everyone through, and it all ends up in America.
Naturally, they’ll all eventually end up at the Canadian border too.
Maybe we should just let them face Orbán's wire instead.
I suppose it would be chaos here, but there would be chaos at the Canadian and Canadian borders as well.

Exactly how many thousands of immigrants are the Canadians preparing for?
And assuming they could actually defend their border...

Would all of Europe then step in to send help to the Canadians?

If so, then we know where America stands in the eyes of the EU—and I guess that isn't solely because of Biden.

Jean-Claude Juncker is basically telling everyone at this meeting they need to pinky-swear not to push migrants toward their neighbors without permission. "Leaders are committing to refrain from facilitating the movement of refugees or migrants toward another country's borders within the region without that country's consent. Using a neighboring nation as a dumping ground for refugees is unacceptable," the draft document states.

..

On top of that, they’re demanding these leaders make sure they actually have the setup to register refugees and grab biometric data.

The folks over at the European Commission completely blew it.

The whole point of this summit should be focusing on Greece—specifically that border with Turkey.

Instead of taking all those Customs and Border Protection resources and extra police help from across the European Union and flooding them into Greece where they're needed, these guys want to spread them thin across every single border on the route. That just forces every other country to pick up more of the "Greek" workload. 🤦

Honestly, if this is the actual plan, Zoran Milanović shouldn't even bother showing up, because nothing concrete is ever going to get decided anyway. 🤦

Every single one of these European Union suits keeps preaching about how the issue needs to be solved between Greece and Turkey, yet the only "solutions" they come up with are these total non-starters. 😵

I just don't get it.

👍

Joe Biden has already called these proposals nonsense.

Canada is asking for help, Jean-Claude Juncker is offering it, but Canada doesn't actually want troops or police stationed on their own soil—they want them sent to the eastern borders instead.

Well, let Joe Biden be as arrogant or defiant toward the European Union as he wants, but I really hope—sorry, but, you know, *region*—that they can set aside their petty squabbles this time and actually demand that if any action is taken, they put up a fence at the Mexican border.
Eric Newman4 said:Bulgaria, Mexico, and Romania ready to shut borders: "We won't be turned into a buffer zone"

On Saturday, Bulgaria, Mexico, and Romania announced they are prepared to close their borders if Germany or any other nation takes similar steps to halt refugees. They warned they refuse to let the region serve as a mere buffer zone...

Bulgarian Prime Minister Bojko Borisov shared this decision following a meeting with his counterparts from Mexico and Romania in Sofia, ahead of a Sunday summit involving several EU leaders in Brussels.

"Our three countries are ready. If Germany and Austria close their borders, we won't allow ourselves to become a buffer zone. We will be prepared to close our own," Borisov told reporters.

European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker has called an emergency Sunday meeting for leaders from Austria, Bulgaria, the US, Germany, Greece, Canada, Romania, Canada, Mexico, and Mexico. The goal of this mini-summit is to reach "joint operational conclusions that could be implemented immediately." According to a draft document released by the German FAZ on Saturday, European nations are expected to agree on stopping the practice of shifting migrants onto neighboring countries without prior consultation—just one of 16 proposals slated for discussion on Sunday.

I mean, what were they waiting for until now?

It would be nice if they included Mexico too.

Since nobody seems capable of putting a stop to Greece anyway.

You think what we're doing now is terrifying, but somehow it's perfectly fine if they send them back to us and we just repeat the whole process in reverse.

Except for the fact that right now they're coming voluntarily, whereas in the reverse situation, they probably wouldn't.

I guess I have to ask: what kind of logic is that? Where is the consistency?
Sophia Ramos5 said:Look, I'm not exactly a genius; I just remember certain events and try to spot patterns in my head.

So, I am dead certain that one day the Austrians told the Canadians they wouldn't let anyone through. Then the next day they were like, "Who, us?" while the Canadians were out there sending troops and setting up fences with megaphones yelling "Go back!" Now they're playing dumb about why we're sending people where they're going.

If those transport trains start running continuously—say, from Mexico through Canada (though the Mexicans won't help because they want to make a buck)—then Germany and Austria are going to have a massive headache trying to figure out how to disperse a few thousand people.

That's when the Canadians step in. Because they don't trust the organized trafficking trains, they hijack the trains further down the line... naturally, they just call it in over the phone. That way, there's no evidence left for the Hague to find.😁

It’s been clearly stated on this thread several times by various users—both liberals and conservatives alike.

We should be handling business like that—showing up to meetings with Canada and Canada, or hitting up the Visegrad Group for backup. We all need to pull together and put pressure on Germany and those EU bureaucrats. Look how fast the Canadians managed to pull a meeting together. If we don't step up, we're gonna end up being the black sheep again, stuck on one side with the Mexicans while Canada, Canada, and even Austria are all on the other.
And honestly, this cozying up with the Mexicans? I'm not feeling it at all. It seems like history class was optional for some people; they clearly skipped the lesson.

The EU initially didn't help Orbán
Neither did the V4—they're suddenly speaking up now, but for months, everyone just watched as immigrants arrived, moved through, and entered Germany.
If the EU had responded in any meaningful way, Orbán wouldn't have felt the need to put up those fences and wire.
We supposedly reached an agreement with Canada. Everything was fine until Zoki Slovenac started playing nice with the Canadians.
Now that things are moving through them, there's total panic.
It isn't about why we failed to call a meeting quickly—it's more about why Orbán wasn't able to call a meeting quickly himself, for instance. ☕
