It feels like we’re seeing more and more instances lately where it’s actually the kids who are calling the shots and basically raising their own parents. I swear, I can't go anywhere without spotting some parent losing their absolute mind in public because they've completely lost control of the situation.
Andrew Doyle said:Physical abuse teaches you nothing except how to be a victim: small, helpless, and utterly worthless. It molds you into someone defined by frustration and constant fear. Down the road, this carries directly into your relationships, where you either end up bending over backward to please everyone or you become the very person using force to get their way.
Any parent who thinks they need to resort to hitting a child just to make them "learn" something is fundamentally incompetent and weak. If they actually knew how to lead, they wouldn't have to rely on brute force, dominance, or intimidation just to be heard. And frankly, forgive my language, but screw any kind of "authority" built on terror.
So why the focus on physical discipline? Why is it that women seem so determined to dodge the word "violence"? Maybe it's because they're more prone to verbal lashings rather than actual hits, so they just brush it off as being insignificant, even though that kind of psychological stuff can be way more systemic and happen much more often than physical abuse.🕺
I’m really looking to meet some new people out here in Washington, D.C.
My main goal is just basic socialization—meeting new folks, hanging out, maybe catching a movie or something similar now and then. I don't really want to set any strict boundaries when it comes to age or gender, as long as it doesn't make communicating a total nightmare (for instance, I can't really picture myself grabbing coffee with someone who's only 13. There's no upper limit on my end, either, since I figure anyone too old probably wouldn't even know how to log onto a forum🧐).
If it matters, I don't have any medical diagnoses.
My starting weight is sitting right around 240-245 lbs. For now, I'm trying to cut back on food as much as possible and stay active—maybe doing some 6.2 miles walks two or three times a week, or more, especially since I'm planning to move somewhere where the local pools will be easier to get to, and eventually, I might try running or cycling too. I'm not really going to set strict goals, like aiming for a specific weight by a certain date, because I'd rather just focus on making progress that's actually noticeable and tangible.
Well, here I am again. It’s been a little over a year since I last took photos. I've been on a keto diet for about two and a half months now, and lately, I've been hitting the gym whenever my job allows it.
Back on August 12th, my physique was sort of somewhere between how I looked last year and how I look now. I don't have any photos from then, but the weight was pretty much the same as before, roughly 240 lbs.
Today, it’s fluctuating between 220 and 225 lbs (though I assume there's a bit of muscle gain happening because of the gym).

I mean, it looks like we have a perfect example of symbiosis here. And apparently, Bachelors can still hold their own when it comes to quality🙂 :haiku: Honestly, what exactly is so offensive about that? Sex is a beautiful thing—though, I guess if you don't have the right partner, maybe that part is up for debate.
I didn't bother reporting anyone for calling me out directly—you know, freedom of speech and all that—even though there was definitely some targeted stuff going on in the Group chat. It’s honestly irrelevant whether they used my actual handle or just quoted my exact words to call me out; everyone knows exactly who they were aiming at. I didn't report the posts where people were basically begging the mods to treat them like some special third category and unlock the Finger, either. And look, I’m not even complaining now that the Finger has been disabled since the 62nd edition, especially since everyone else has just been rebranded as Bachelors. These guys are basically sabotaging the whole vibe by acting like they own the place, essentially running a gatekeeping operation to pick and choose who actually belongs in the chat.
I honestly don't get why some people still can't grasp why a user's private address isn't just blasted out on a public forum? I guess it's just a matter of how much you value your digital footprint after all these years.
And if I recall correctly, everyone who actually wanted to show up at our last meetup made it happen, even though the location wasn't posted publicly. You can always just pass an address along via DM or through other private channels.
I hop onto WhatsApp and what do I find? A bunch of people who don't even belong to an organized group—if you can even call them a clan—are out here actively sabotaging the chat. It just goes to show that these "clans" aren't actually a thing, and honestly, it proves there’s no real desire for everyone to just get along and coexist here. They aren't even trying to play fair or ask for their own special little corner with their own private rules.
Look, you really shouldn't get too caught up in all those flashy discounts and little bonuses; you need to focus on the actual price tag. I mean, it’s also worth noting that the terms and conditions can vary quite a bit depending on which insurance provider you end up choosing in the US.
Hey everyone, I’m not entirely sure who’s pulling the strings here, but a friend of mine—who happens to know I’m lurking on this forum—was asking me about why she can’t get registered. Basically, her application was rejected, but from what I can tell, none of the usual red flags seem to be present. I mean, I know we usually block things if a username is offensive, if it’s already taken, or if someone tries to impersonate some big-shot celebrity.
But none of that applies here. I guess there’s always the slim chance they flagged her as a clone of a permanently banned user, but that isn't the case either.
I can pass along the specific response she received to a moderator, a supermod, an admin, or whoever actually handles these kinds of headaches, so maybe someone could clarify what’s going on? My surface-level grasp of English, combined with her own, just isn't quite enough to decipher why she was turned down in the first place. 😁

Thanks 🙂
I think I got skipped over here 😬 So, is it a yes or a no? Or should I just accept my fate and deal with this curse 😢
EDIT: Now that I'm re-reading the rules again, I guess there might be an issue with the dashes; if that's actually the problem, then maybe it should just stay the way it is 😳

It crossed my mind, though, and I was wondering if it might be possible to just change it to "Rocket " instead, you know, by adding a space after the "t"? Looking over the rules in the first post, I guess it shouldn't technically break anything, but I figured I should probably double-check with 😁 . Actually, that probably wouldn't work because the system would likely view it as the exact same username. I suppose if I added an initial or something after the space, maybe the system would recognize it as a different entry, but as it stands, it probably won't see the difference.

Sure, you can get them up to 168 with a 50% discount, but I think Matthew was asking whether there's any extra wiggle room if you happen to have multiple vehicles. That’s why I mentioned that some providers offer "group" discounts if you hold several different policies with them (and it doesn't necessarily have to be auto insurance). Some companies just try harder because, honestly, it's much better for their bottom line to keep a client with three cars rather than just one, so it's probably in their best interest to hunt down some sort of commercial rate for you.
It really just depends on which insurance provider you go with—you know, since they all have their own little versions of family discounts or group rates and whatnot—but I wouldn't exactly count on anything groundbreaking there. You might see a difference of maybe 5%, if you're lucky, though honestly, you'd probably get a better deal just by switching to a completely different carrier altogether. I suppose if you're bringing both of your vehicles to the same place, you could try to push them a bit harder and haggle for a better commercial discount, just because it’s in your best interest to try.
It’s not exactly direct, but it’s pretty close. If I interpreted the ad correctly, Aetna doesn't actually have some specific card linked to their system; instead, you just scan your receipt and they supposedly just refund the money straight back to your checking account automatically.
Do you seriously have to go with Chase? 😛 I’m honestly not even sure if that extra coverage works quite like that. It seems more like they use your age as the main deciding factor, so if you're in the 18-20 bracket, you get one rate, then maybe 21-24 gets another, and 25-30 is something else entirely...
Some companies, like Geico, tend to base their rates on how many years you've actually held your driver's license.

Like, I'll go in just to ask how much something costs and suddenly I'm just... uh... um... err... and then she's just standing there staring me down like, "Do you need a number? Do you need help?" And I'm just like, okay, let me actually finish my sentence so maybe you can hear what I'm trying to say.
I think you're being a little rude here. 😳 The question was about what we're doing today (or something like that, 😳)
Well, I already posted my take. As far as the clerk goes, the conversation went pretty smoothly. We were just talking about the 🙂 item, we settled the price, and then I just moved on.
So, yeah, even though I'm not exactly the most talkative or social person, I don't really deal with that awkward freezing thing 😬
I was sitting at my desk today just spiraling through thoughts about my past, specifically that advice I got about needing a total life reset. I can't stop obsessing over the future and this whole struggle I have when it comes to actually meeting people. It’s been weighing on me—like, I keep wondering if those few sentences I exchanged with the staff over in the Sports Division were just some casual, friendly small talk, or if I somehow missed a genuine opportunity to actually connect 😳
