Look, obviously I'm going to listen to the album—multiple times, actually—since I'm heading to the show... I don't want to be moping around after the concert because they played all the new stuff (I mean, it's a tour for the new album, so 😁), it's just that I'm really not feeling it right now. Same thing with the new Maiden tracks everyone is raving about; I'll start listening and immediately lose interest 🤷 Ah, anyway, see you guys at the gig. Hopefully we haven't cluttered up this thread too much, but the main thing is they're finally coming to town—it's about time!

And hey, that's totally fine—actually, it's pretty ideal. But I'm just not feeling this specific direction they've taken lately, simple as that. They were never static; they always evolved, and you can really hear it if you dive into their earliest stuff or something like Nightfall. Back then, it all worked (at least for me). The last two I checked out didn't hit the mark, and I haven't even gotten through this latest one yet because the single sounds kind of boring to me.

By the way, I'm not a big fan of orchestras in metal 😁, which is why I'm struggling to get through the recent Iced Earth releases, even though they've been one of my absolute favorites since I first started getting into music.

Anyway, I don't want to get into a whole debate about it; it's just my take. Some people love one album, some love five, and some love the whole discography.

And here I am, totally lost 😁. To be honest, I was watching them back in 2006, and they definitely hit harder for me then. I don't know, man—nothing seems to quite click the same way after listening to Nightfall.

Well, honestly, it's way easier than trying to scrub mud out of canvas Vans 😁. Besides, those sneakers are basically my official uniform for shows at The Fillmore or House of Blues anyway—I'd feel too guilty wearing anything else there =)

Mud aside, I had such a blast! Though, if I'm being real, the crowd could have brought a little more energy during sets like them Bones or dati that River. But man, Angry Chair and Nutshell totally made my night, obviously. 🙂

For real though, I ended up getting there right at 11 and walked way closer than I should have, not that I'm complaining 🙂 I had an amazing time regardless, but I was being such a klutz and wore sneakers that I've spent the last half hour scrubbing them clean.

Man, I wish! But honestly, it all really boils down to how much those tickets are gonna set me back...😢 Uh, so, how much cool stuff is actually 🙂

I know I’m probably going to sound like a total heathen here, but I’m genuinely curious how many of these shows are actually going to happen at the end of the day. Man, there are just way too many bands on this list—it's impossible to catch them all. I already checked out Amon once, and honestly, I've seen them three times now, so I think I'll have to sit this one out.

Me again! 😁 Nah, there isn't one, they were just talking about the Metal Melting Summit, which that guy Juras had been hyping up for a while. I actually went to the first Metal Melting Summit and even back then, half the lineup didn't show up (I think it was Paul Di'Anno and divlji jagoda), and the second one was a total disaster... such a waste of cash 😢..that's probably why Juras was pitching the next Metal Melting Summit as a freebie to try and make amends, but who knows if that'll actually happen...

And yeah, if you grab train tickets in groups of 3 or 5, it's definitely cheaper—if I remember correctly, they sell those group passes for sets of 3 or 5.

Yeah, from Washington, D.C....

So, my friend and I headed up to the ticket window, and the lady there quoted us something close to $100, just for the two of 😲 us... but then we happened to spot an even bigger crowd of metalheads hanging out at the station, so we decided to join forces with them and grab a group pass instead. Ended up costing us $43 🙂
