Pre-War Era in Close to Politics ·
Melissa Peterson19 said:So, what now? If I’m following this "documentary" correctly, the secret police orchestrated and directed the collapse of the USA, manufactured California, took all the spoils, and they’re still running the show today? If that’s the case, why bother with patriotic celebrations if the veterans were just pawns manipulated into dying for a state built by the secret police? Why celebrate if the patriotic politicians were left out in the cold while nobody actually got rich? Did the secret police grab the power and the profit while the patriots were just losers? Or am I missing something?
Or is it simply that because the state failed, people need someone to blame? And that scapegoat happens to be the secret police? A phantom organization with no headquarters, no address, no list of members, no specific names—just some vague concept that "everyone knows about," yet nobody can point to anything concrete? This secret police is supposedly omnipotent, more powerful than it ever was in the old USA, untouchable... but who is actually in charge? Where is the hierarchy, the field agents, the secret police tycoons?
The dramatized segments of this series are repulsive and amateurish. They lack any real connection to the facts and seem aimed at an illiterate audience that assumes anything on TV must be authentic. Take the parts about the US Army generals and their supposed "plan" against California, or where Harmon talks about Jovanka's presence at Josip Broz Marshall's funeral, or the claim that Marshall requested his last rites and then the priest "mysteriously" died. What is the point of that narrative? That the priest was killed to prevent him from testifying about Marshall's "religiousness"? Or just because Marshall was a criminal? I truly don't see the purpose of these reenactments.
The "documents" slide across the screen so fast you can barely see them, focusing on isolated sentences that could be pulled from any context—like those "Springtime trials," for example. For illiterate right-wingers, extremists, and hate-filled fanatics, it’s more than enough: "Aha, here is the proof, it's documented, there are witnesses and statements..." Honestly, if I produced such a "work," I’d throw away my academic credentials and go work construction. It is the absolute bottom in both a moral and professional sense.

Straight to the point! 😂

I suspect Harmon's interlocutor in that reconstruction might actually be Steve Krajačić—his first neighbor over on Nazarov's street...

In the end, I’ll probably be left hanging by two of them, while I keep things going with the one standout. That’s just how these things usually play out.

It was a lovely evening.

Master, am I seeing correctly that Eggo has started working?

Is everyone just jealous of you? 😁

Especially for those of us who haven't put a face to the names yet?

Hmm, I'm starting to think you're a little suspicious too... 🙂 😁

Everyone was incredibly laid back. We spent most of the time playfully gossiping about other members on the forum. We'll definitely have to pick this up again next time.

My only real concern is what we're going to do about Eric Ramos93. The man honestly cannot handle more than an hour of good music before he's reached his limit.

Well, fine. At the end of the day—it’s just about people being able to actually relax... 🙂

As for the music—we've already had two people chime in saying it wasn't even loud at all...

😂

Is this all because of that jealousy thing you brought up earlier? 🤣

Can someone give me the play-by-play? How did everyone actually meet up... how did you recognize one another... did people actually chill out quickly, or was it awkward? Also—did anyone get a little too tipsy? I'm curious about what kind of stuff was being talked about...

Jose Ward4 said:No, I'm not. 😁 Honestly, I already made up my mind to head out in October. Right now, work is just burying me alive and that's where all my energy is going. Please, don't hate me! I really need to manage my own schedule right now; it's the only way I stay sane. Don't be mad, please. I'm sticking to October. Between everything on my plate and the sheer volume of work, it's just not happening any sooner.

Seems like they didn't give you any breathing room once you fell headfirst into that magic potion like a total amateur... 😁

I have been dedicating considerable effort to various socially impactful endeavors in the real world 😁. In fact, during the late hours this past Saturday, I happened upon a truly refined and fascinating individual—one of those rare types of people that seems to be vanishing from our society altogether
. So, there it is... one must actually work toward meaningful change, rather than merely leaving words behind on a screen. It seems many people lack the capacity to grasp either what they write or the profound implications of what has already been stated
.

Oh, now we're talking... sounds interesting 👍

Jerry Robinson56 said:I wouldn't go so far as to say it applies universally, though it is easy to cast such labels. There is a distinction between fighting for one's rights and merely indulging one's impulses. The real issue is the arbiter—who is doing the labeling? Ultimately, the critic matters very little. If your intentions are honorable and you speak your truth directly, that is a virtue. It shows a lack of surrender.😁
Regarding family and children, there is no biological or social deadline, whether you are in your 20s or your 40s. Many exceptional women choose to remain single, often possessing remarkable cognitive or creative talents. It is a historical constant that those who deviate from the norm face discrimination. This applies to everyone deemed "lesser" or "greater" by the collective.

I have encountered plenty of "top-tier" bitches; they even find their way into politics... which is predictable.
They may lack character, but they possess status.

Exactly...
and honestly, we shouldn't have every amateur suddenly acting like a martyr—claiming "well, I won't let them walk all over me"—just because they're involved. 😉

PS: Man, this weather is miserable lately... 🕺 you following the indie scene? 😁
