Catholic Church in Wisconsin bans Mass at Wounded Knee in Close to Politics ·
driftinggull13 said:Exactly. 😁

Well, if that's the case, why don't they just say it straight instead of hiding behind that whole "without a trial" excuse?🙄 Though, I guess you actually need some guts for that—something they clearly lack.👎
Catholic Church in Wisconsin bans Mass at Wounded Knee in Close to Politics ·
It’s funny how much weeping there is over those "without trial" deaths at Wounded Knee—yet when you look at the victims those same people were summarily executing across the country during WWII, in the absolute worst conditions across various battlefields and Nazi Germany camps, suddenly there's no crying and no masses held at the sites where they fell. In fact, most of the monuments built across America to honor those specific victims in the former state have been torn down or destroyed. So, exactly why are the Wounded Knee victims somehow "more righteous" or "more honorable" than the ones they themselves executed without trial—even if the Patron Assembly is involved?
Schizophrenia - General Discussion in Psychology & Therapy ·
Rebecca Rivera3 said:Listen, I have an interesting story to share with you all. I was being treated for schizophrenia, which led to me being prescribed Haldol and Seroquel, along with a long list of other medications and several hospitalizations.

In the end, it turns out I actually have Multiple Sclerosis. I don't have schizophrenia or any mental illness; I have lesions on my brain. That's just how things work in the States—they'll tell you something is normal when it's clearly not.

What a disaster.🙄 Look, MS and schizophrenia don't exactly share the same symptom list—not even close.😲

Look, just let this problematic guy go—give him the wide berth he’s clearly asking for. Honestly, take it as a lucky break.😬 If he’s already making such a massive scene about his "struggles," what exactly do you think is going to happen later? You can't expect him to suddenly show up in better shape without all that baggage.🙂 You don't need that kind of energy in your life. Unless he’s willing to be at least a low-maintenance friend—rather than some chaotic partner weighed down by intense fears, anxieties, and a complete lack of basic functionality—you're better off without him.🥳🙂

Matthew Castillo5 said:I’m sure you could pull a list together right now and pick out the ones who definitely weren't leftists.

I have never denied or justified the atrocities committed under Nazi, Fascist, or Pavelić's systems. On the flip side, leftists either routinely deny (pre-1990) or justify (post-1990) the crimes committed within totalitarian socialist/communist regimes.
Whether the criminals I mentioned were killing according to some law or outside of it isn't really the point. They wiped people out based on nationality (think folks in the USSR or minority groups in China), religion, social class, gender identity, or political affiliation.
And since you want to talk about cause and effect: was every single one of those tens of millions killed in socialist gulags responsible for Hitler's or Pavelić's crimes? I highly doubt it.

The idea that "right-wingers lean toward criminal extermination of others, while leftists fight for equality for all" simply doesn't hold water.

Nah, I don't really deal with the nitty-gritty details of elementary or high school curriculum—not my lane. As far as I'm concerned, Goc already gave you the answer.

Quincy:
I’ve never once tried to make excuses for the atrocities committed under Nazi or Fascist regimes—that's just common sense. But the Left? They’re always either busy denying the crimes of totalitarian socialist systems or, more recently, finding creative ways to justify them.
I asked you a specific question about legal segregation and how people were purged back in the days of America. You dodged it. Everything else you’re bringing up—well, nobody actually asked you that—but if you think I’m out here trying to deny any crimes, you've got the wrong person.

Quincy:
Whether those criminals were killing legally or just outside the law doesn't really change much—it’s a distinction without a difference. They wiped people out based on everything—nationality (think the folks in the USSR or minorities in China), religion, social class, gender identity, and political leanings. All of it.
If you don't care whether you live under a regime that codifies "superior" versus "inferior" races, religions, or nationalities—using those labels to justify wiping people out—then fine. That’s on you. But a system built on those criteria is criminal by definition. Sure, even in a country dedicated to equality, there's no 100% guarantee against atrocities—nothing ever is—but at least the intent is there. It actually tries toward equality, unlike that other mess.
Which specific law in America actually authorized those killings—it would be pretty fair of you to just name it, wouldn't it?

Quincy:
Since you’re bringing up cause and effect—was every single one of those tens of millions slaughtered in the socialist Gulags somehow responsible for Hitler's or Pavelić's crimes? Personally, I highly doubt it.
Who said that? Certainly not me. I mean, I don't quite get the logic—blaming people for being "inferior races" when they were already targeted just for not being "Aryan" or for not following some extremist regime's ideology? It’s honestly pathetic. Some people clearly struggle with basic history lessons—it's sad to see folks who would probably try to pass those same kinds of laws today, persecuting or driving out anyone who doesn't fit their specific criteria. Sadly, there are plenty of people like that in America even now.👎

Quincy:
The idea that "conservatives are prone to criminally exterminating anyone different, while liberals fight for equality for all" just doesn't hold water.
Well, that’s your take—nobody’s really disputing that you feel that way. Everyone's entitled to their own opinion, I guess—but history tends to tell a much more complicated story than that.

Matthew Castillo5 said:If you haven't heard of the leftists who—driven by that exact same sense of superiority—systematically purged entire groups of people (the bourgeoisie, the wealthy landowners, intellectuals, homosexuals, "enemies of the state," etc.), then you are seriously lacking a basic understanding of 20th-century history.
Or are you going to try and argue that Stalin, Marshall, Mao Zedong, Ceaușescu, Enver Hoxha, Fidel Castro, and Che Guevara were actually right-wingers? 😵

You've thrown just about everything into one giant pile here.🙄 If all of those qualify as "leftists" to you, then I’m afraid you’re missing the basic definitions we're using here—it’s clear that cause and effect don't really factor into your logic.🙄 But, without getting into specific individuals, I can't point to a single law in socialist America that mandated the elimination of people based on race, nationality, or religion through systematic extermination—the way right-wingers did under Nazi, Fascist, or Nationalists regimes. I’d love for you to cite such a law from America if one actually exists. Or do you think racial laws are "okay legislation"—maybe even better than laws that guarantee equality regardless of any criteria?😬 Wouldn't surprise me.

darksurfer4 said:Ever since I first became aware of my own consciousness, I’ve harbored a deep-seated distaste for the right wing; I have always viewed them as fundamentally bad, even malicious people. Yet, driven by the philosophical notion that one should strive to understand those they disagree with, I eventually began engaging in discussions with them. I started noticing them in grocery stores, flipping through the pages of Time Magazine. I began browsing those same magazines myself, specifically to attempt to decipher the inner workings of their minds. After some time, however, my perception shifted; I no longer see them as mere political opponents, but rather primarily as mentally ill individuals.🎉🎉

During my debates with these types, I’ve been met with truly staggering claims regarding the former state—claims that, through extensive reading and dialogue with others, I have confirmed have absolutely zero connection to reality. This spans everything from the starvation crises of the 70s and 80s to the concentration camps used against Americans.☕ In that same Time Magazine, I actually read a claim that Milorad Pupovac is orchestrating a genocide against Americans in coordination with the cultural organization "Prosvjeta"🤦—a genocide supposedly funded by tax dollars from the American federal budget.🤣

Let’s step outside our beautiful...

Back in 1996, a certain American right-winger bombed a government building in Oklahoma City because he was convinced the administration was plotting a coup against the American people.🤦

Across the Atlantic Ocean, a right-winger committed an even more heinous act—I am, of course, referring to Andreas Breivik. That maniac slaughtered about 60 people, mostly very young individuals, all because he believed he was protecting Norway from Islamic terrorists.🤦

Speaking of Islamic terrorists, while they stem from a different cultural sphere, from where I sit, they seem to fall under the umbrella of extreme right-wing ideology.

Take Poland, for instance; they were once led by those two idiot twin brothers, one of whom died in a plane crash. One of those twin idiots, leading the nation at the time, was traveling to commemorate crimes in the Katyn Forest. They were supposed to land at the airport in Smolensk, but air traffic control diverted them toward Minsk due to heavy fog over Smolensk. But that was when right-wing paranoia kicked in; the paranoid leader convinced himself the fog was a Russian conspiracy and ordered the landing, which resulted in his death and the deaths of everyone else on that plane.

Right-wingers believe the Earth is flat—hollow, or whatever version of that nonsense—they believe vaccines are a deliberate way to spread autism, they believe in chemtrails, and they sink into all sorts of other idiocy.

It is fascinating how some people drift toward the right as they age; it seems that as the body and mind decay, people gravitate toward right-wing waters. In America, we have examples like Franjo Harmon and Zdravko Tomac. The case of Franjo Harmon is particularly interesting because of his brain tumor; one could argue the tumor itself caused his shift toward the extreme right.🤔

The ultimate point I am making is that membership in right-wing groups and parties should be classified as a mental disorder, and consequently, such individuals should be barred from participating in elections. It would be somewhat similar to what happened with homosexuality, which was once categorized as a mental illness.

I don't necessarily see them as mentally ill—they're just regular people to me—but I do see them as malicious. It stems from their core belief that they can purge certain groups—based on race, nationality, religion, or even gender—from specific territories or even off the face of the Earth, simply because they think they're "superior."🙄 They'll use any means necessary to get there, often advocating for, or outright using, violence and destructive tactics. Personally, I find that entire mindset terrifying and completely unacceptable.😠

The right wing believes in a flat earth—hollow, maybe?—thinks vaccines are a plot to spread autism, obsesses over chemtrails, and falls for all sorts of other nonsense.

To me, what they believe isn't the issue—it's when they try to "disprove" scientific facts with their delusions and then attempt to force those delusions on everyone else as "law," all while tearing others down in the process.🙄👎

It's interesting how some people drift toward the right as they age—as if the decline of the body and mind pulls them toward conservatism. In America, we have examples like Franjo Harmon and Zdravko Tomac; the case of Franjo Harmon is particularly curious given his brain tumor, which supposedly pushed him toward the extreme right.🤔

Generally speaking, people tend to become more conservative as they age because they lose flexibility—it's just a biological reality most of the time. But America seems to be an outlier here, as several polls suggest younger generations are actually more conservative than their parents. One could certainly place a bet on why that is.😁

The whole point would be to just label being part of any right-wing group or party as a mental disorder—and then, naturally, bar them from voting altogether. It’s kind of like how homosexuality used to be treated before it was declassified as a disorder.

Of course, that wouldn't be right, and I'm definitely not advocating for it—mostly because that’s exactly what those same right-wingers do anyway: they try to strip dissenters of their right to vote or just ignore human rights entirely. Doing that would just make us look exactly like them.😢
Clones"?! in Feedback & Suggestions ·
It’s been over a month—exactly 40 days, actually—since wearyowl29 and I asked the admins to look into those ridiculous "clone" accusations being thrown our way. We also requested that anyone spreading these baseless rumors be penalized, since spreading falsehoods is a direct violation of the forum rules. Since we haven't heard a peep since then, I'd love an explanation as to why. Thanks in advance!

So, back on that thread about the IBM referendum over in Politics—about 13 days ago, Tarantino claimed I was some kind of "clone" of wearyowl29:
Clones"?! in Feedback & Suggestions ·
On the religion thread, people are back at it for the second time claiming that wearyowl29 and I are some kind of "clones." First it was Tarantino making the claim, and now Joe Biden is repeating it. I actually flagged Tarantino’s original comment over ten days ago, but—surprise, surprise—nobody did anything about it. Now the lies are just circling back around:

I’m asking the moderators to please look into this, verify the facts, and actually penalize those spreading these rumors. A public notice would be great too, just so these trolls know there are consequences for this kind of nonsense. Thanks!

Matthew Anderson said:Well, fingers crossed they actually get back to you—in the meantime, feel free to keep dropping those ideological bombs. 😁

Oh, really? Since when is calling someone a feminist "ideological"? I guess it's only an ideology if you call them patriarchal—nice logic there, genius!

Matthew Anderson said:You claimed I didn't discipline that post. Look, if his last one had been—well, if it were yours—he would've gotten the exact same response. And yours came after a long string of equally "brilliant" posts.

Bottom line: Apple was right about what they wrote, because your posts are clearly colored by ideology—not exactly the first time you've taken this tone, either. Honestly, even the senior mods have flagged you before.

Look, I asked about a specific enrollment process, not for a lecture on feminism or whatever—I already know where you stand on that. I also know how most of the mods here feel about certain old topics, so don't worry about me.
But you still haven't actually explained the specific case. All you're doing now is rambling about your own biases and lack of knowledge regarding the subject—just like half the people on this forum—but I have zero interest in debating that with you, nor did I ask.

I didn't say his post wasn't "sanctioned"—I said it wasn't addressed the same way mine was.

Can I get an actual answer to my question from the admins, or not?

And this "warning" thing you're bringing up: about what? Why am I just hearing about this "warning" now? What am I, some kind of domestic terrorist or something? Ha!

Matthew Anderson said:It’s because yours was the last one—there were pages of bickering before that. Besides, if his post counts as a strike against you, then your reply to him should count as a strike against him, too.

Like I said, calling someone a feminist or accusing them of bias isn't a banable offense—especially since it was aimed at you because of how you've been handling this thread.

Still obsessing over strikes?🙄 Where on earth did I ask about being banned?😕 My whole point is your "brilliant" comment. It's literally in the thread title! Or do you just not get the difference? Why didn't you hit his post with a "brilliant" label back then and close the thread right there, considering it's the exact same content just under a different label? Why is calling a guy "patriarchal" considered an ironic "brilliant," while calling a woman a "feminist" isn't?😕 Both were reactions "> And what does it matter if mine was the last one? Does the first person always get a free pass?😁

Since you clearly can't explain that, I’d like a ruling from the moderators once more, please!

Matthew Anderson said:I get the feeling you’re dying to see the mods hand out a ban—mostly because you told him you were a feminist—but, unfortunately for you, posts like yours don't actually break any rules. Why did you get that "label" in the first place? Well, just look at your own comments on the thread.

No, you just don't get it—I'm telling you, it’s not about the cardboard. So, we're talking about your "genius" comment—yeah. Why isn't Flatow's post quite as "genius" as mine—considering mine was just a direct response to his?
Was I even the subject of this thread—and besides, who does he think he is, judging me personally?😲
So, if some people are allowed to write like that, why can't someone just call out a guy for being patriarchal? I mean—seriously—what's the deal there? Why is that off-limits? You? That parallel—if you can even call it that. Does this bother anyone? — Just checking.

I'm still waiting on a response from management—as I already mentioned.

Matthew Anderson said:Since this thread has devolved into everyone pointing fingers at everyone else —it’s a vital discussion. There's zero point in nuking half the forum just because everyone collectively decided to lose interest. Flatiron's post isn't worth a ban.

So, despite all those "labels being thrown from all sides," you "accidentally" chose to target only the side I wrote—the very last one. If I hadn't spent years lurking here and seeing how things actually work, I might have actually believed you.😉
The ban isn't the issue; it's your "brilliant" little comment aimed solely at my post—even though mine was nothing more than a direct parallel to Flatiron's previous post, using his own words against him because of the label he slapped on me. But apparently, that wasn't "brilliant" enough for you.
If you had quoted his post with that same level of irony, we wouldn't be having this conversation—but instead, it looks like certain people get a free pass to throw ad hominem insults while everyone else gets flagged. So much for your legendary moderator impartiality.😁👎

To whom it may concern,

I’m looking for some clarity regarding Sophia Thomas7’s decision to lock the thread "Suspicious Female Predators and Leaky Condoms"—specifically his hostile reaction to this remark:

My comment was actually just a parallel to an earlier post by Flatiron, where they took a personal shot at me—which, frankly, had nothing to do with the topic:

I only posted my response to highlight how ridiculous that labeling was, yet Sophia Thomas7 didn't say a word about their previous post. So, why wasn't that initial comment flagged, and why did it trigger such a nasty response and a thread lockout from the moderator? Does the admin team consider that earlier post acceptable enough to go unpunished?

Thanks in advance for the help.

My intention with these posts was to provide a more complete picture of Giordano Bruno, while also showing the Renaissance in its true spirit.
And that’s how it should work—when we debate, we debate based on what someone actually wrote, not by fantasizing about their intentions, goals, or motives—or worse, launching personal attacks—ad hominem.
That’s exactly what you, along with others in that thread, are doing. You haven't been banned for it, though.
Nor can you dictate that I shouldn't write about Giordano Bruno being involved in magic and Hermeticism, because that is fact.

What "complete picture"? Are you suggesting you've "uncovered" something about Bruno that we didn't know, or are you just trying to prove your ongoing point that Bruno "wasn't a scientist"? What exactly are we supposed to be proving or disproving here?

Are you implying this "fact" you mentioned sheds some new light on why the Inquisition went after him? Does it change the established facts—that the man was burned at the stake for his views? How does that change anything?

Everything you wrote, I simply quoted. I didn't invent your claims that Bruno "wasn't a scientist," that he was a "scientist—not by a long shot," or that he dabbled in "magic, occultism, and Hermeticism." I am literally repeating your own words:

Here, you kept insisting Bruno practiced magic:

And when I asked why he wouldn't have:

After that, you even lumped the concept of the Renaissance in with "suspicious" terms related to magic, alongside several other thinkers and philosophers:

Are they worthy of Christian love, or are they also "heretics" that need to be wiped off the face of the Earth?😁

Here, you repeat that Bruno was a "magician" and an "occultist," and that the "dark sides of the Renaissance are yet to be discovered":

And even our fellow forum user Judolino pointed out that your posts could be interpreted as implying that "maybe science is just black magic to you," though he noted that isn't "exactly proof."😁

Anyone can question or analyze someone else's work.
Just because someone is labeled a scientist doesn't mean they didn't engage in other activities.
By the way—there are written records of this. Even in American.

Anyway, I won't drag this out. Stop dragging my name into various threads—especially when you try to imply I'm somehow justifying the murder of Giordano Bruno.
And stop speculating about my intentions, because you can't possibly know mine—or anyone else's—other than your own!

Regarding the topic of the abolition of religious education, believers on this forum are being insulted—specifically by attributing the actions of past church officials directly to them as individuals.
If the moderators actually cared about the dignity of this forum and basic civility, they wouldn't allow such ad hominem attacks.

That’s why I’m asking you to explain your intention—if you want to, of course, since I don't quite get it. If not, fine. Everyone will just interpret it however they see fit.😁
From now on, I won't just be "mentioning" your name; I'll be quoting you too. But you don't get to dictate what I write or who I quote. You aren't that powerful—though, I don't know, maybe you'd love to use Inquisition-style tactics if you had the chance?😁 Look, if you think you have the right to tell others what to write or whom to cite, then go ahead and start your own private forum with those rules.
