redbadger162, are you absolutely sure he isn't seeing someone else on the side?
I'm curious about how these viruses actually spread? Specifically, the ones linked to lymphomas.

"Chicken contains a natural amino acid called cysteine that is released during cooking. Chemically, cysteine is incredibly similar to the medication acetylcysteine, which is prescribed for bronchitis and respiratory infections. Acetylcysteine was originally derived from chicken feathers and skin. Pharmacologically, it works by thinning the mucus in your lungs, making it easier to cough up. When inhaled, chicken soup provides better results than just hot water—which people usually attribute to essential oil vapors. To prevent or fight off the flu or a cold, you should eat a bowl of this soup every day. You can boost the effect if you cook it with plenty of onions, garlic, and some spicy kick—like chili, pepper, or curry. The therapeutic effect lasts about half an hour, so you should sip it slowly."

In what way are they more harmful? I’ve heard that before, but honestly, nobody ever gave me a straight answer.

Usually, when we come down with the flu or a nasty virus or a heavy cold, our appetite just vanishes. Honestly, nothing beats sipping on a warm cup of pure broth.

A good homemade meat or vegetable soup provides exactly what the body needs to recover.

That’s true, but in my experience, chicken soup is the absolute gold standard. It works every single time. If anyone is curious, I have an explanation somewhere and can write it out for you. Personally, I usually whip up a big batch and stick it in the freezer. As soon as someone in the house starts looking a little suspicious, I serve them some soup, and the problem is usually nipped in the bud. Oh, and if your nose and ears are totally clogged, you should eat something really spicy—it helps break up that congestion. Avoid milk, though; it does the exact opposite. Also, you need to drink tons of fluids—literally pour them in—both to prevent dehydration and to flush those toxins out of your system. Plain water is fine, too. I usually brew some sage tea, and I read somewhere that kidney tea is great for almost any infection.

You guys are all amateurs. I’ve taken things to a whole new level: fried hair dryers, burnt-out lightbulbs, even public streetlights that cut out the second I walk by... I think I read somewhere once in a Clark book that people like this are actually just obsessed with polishing things. As long as we're just dealing with power surges, I'm fine. Heh...
