If it means anything, bear posted on our local community board recently regarding fitness and recreation, and he was actually incredibly kind, polite, and easy to talk to. I really don't appreciate how people are using this ZAG case to make sweeping generalizations right now. It feels like they're just projecting their own old frustrations onto everything. Compared to the rest of the forum, the discussions over at ZAG are pretty laid-back and casual, which is exactly why reading those PDFs is such a breeze. (And honestly, even those tacky celebrity baby stories contribute to that vibe.)
Because the moderation there is a bit more relaxed, you actually need more flexibility and solid communication skills to present an opinion. There's nothing wrong with that. So, let them scream about who is what. Like I said, everyone can see everything that’s been written, and I assume they’re capable of drawing their own conclusions. I actually love it when people who don't usually post on ZAG jump into a thread. For instance, seeing Beljki pop up recently was pure entertainment. And I don't just mean that when I agree with them—not at all.
And don't even get me started on Amelie, who is probably the best moderator this forum has ever seen.
The real issue here is this thread being shut down prematurely. In my opinion, that goes for the one on political correctness, too. The clones pulled off a brilliant little subversion to make that happen. 😁
Seriously, that was a disaster. The kid literally said she wanted a technical foul herself. I don't see how Peter’s decision made any sense at all. What I really want to know is if they intentionally used that playground bullying tactic—that whole fascist little trick—just to shut the conversation down. If that was the plan, it was pretty smooth. 😁 👍
By the way, I have zero issues with labels. I wouldn’t dream of deleting them or archiving them. Nobody is so slow that they can't figure out who is being told what and why for themselves. But I really don't get the whole "closing the thread" thing. Nor do I get those posts about political correctness.

Either you'll find it, or the mods will just move you there themselves.

That's not necessarily the case. I have a family story that's almost identical. This guy was basically living a fairy tale—perfect family, totally mild-mannered, a real sweetheart. Then, overnight, he completely flipped. He became alienated, picked fights with everyone, just turned sour. His folks noticed this vacant stare, this total shift in his demeanor. He was snapping at everything, becoming paranoid, and incredibly stingy. Get this: he actually threatened to kick them out of the house within a month! Yeah, he started drinking too. It was like a different person entirely, and there was no obvious trigger. We were all genuinely worried he'd had a minor stroke or something had fried his brain cells. Turns out, he got tangled up at work with some drunk woman who systematically poisoned him against his wife and kids. Was it just a massive stress reaction to an impossible situation? Was he intentionally making life hell because he couldn't find a way out? Or did that witch actually brainwash him into feeling that much hate? I honestly have no clue.
