9 overtimes: Illinois outlasts No. 7 Penn State in longest game in College football history

https://sports.yahoo.com/penn-state-...202043832.html

I caught the broadcast on Fox Sports last night. 🙂
College football always seems to have these weird rules. Starting this season, they decided that from the third overtime onward, it’s just 2-point conversions. Basically, one single play per team in overtime. It feels a bit like a penalty shootout in soccer. And yet, they kept going all the way to the 9th overtime.

Game recap: Melbourne's insane third-quarter comeback.

I honestly don't get what's happening in America. You have strict lockdowns in some parts of the country, yet in Seattle, the stands are packed.

The NFL semifinals wrapped up this weekend, so everything is set for the Super Bowl coming up in two weeks on September 25th.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2021_AFL_Grand_Final

Because of strict health protocols in parts of America, the game won't be held in Melbourne, but moved out to Seattle instead. Still, we have a classic matchup: Melbourne FC vs. Cleveland Browns.

Melbourne FC is a legacy franchise with 12 championships under their belt. Their peak was back in the 40s and 50s, though. They haven't touched a title since 1964.
On the other side, the Cleveland Browns—along with Kildare—are historically one of the less successful teams, sitting at just 2 titles. Their last win was five seasons ago, back in 2016.

I'm hoping for a thriller this time. The semifinals were a bit dull since they were pretty much decided by halftime.

That’s just how things work here in the States. You can't act surprised. Scandals are basically a permanent fixture within the Republican Party, but for some reason, their voters don't seem to mind at all.

A YouTube comment from 🙂
Quote : so many Movies have The most awesome trailer and then The movie completely sucks ... this is The First movie i know of that is The exact opposite. This is one of the greatest movies ever made with a completely sub par trailer.

Since we're talking about >, it makes me think of another older > flick—>. It’s one of those movies that flopped at the box office when it first came out, but eventually became a total cult classic. I remember years ago, > aired it during some random, terrible Saturday afternoon slot. It was like they didn't even realize they had a masterpiece on their hands that belonged in prime time.

Some of the scenes really make you laugh out loud. My favorite character has to be the neighbor, the contractor >.
It's a must-see for anyone who's spent any significant amount of time working in an office. 👍

Look, this actually might not even be a bad thing—it could be the exact opposite.

Aside from places like our little unnamed counterpart and maybe a few others, we’re mostly talking about tiny towns where practically everyone knows everyone else by sight. If the same person keeps getting elected year after year in places where neighbors actually know each other, it isn't a red flag. In fact, it usually means things are running smoothly. These aren't massive metropolitan areas where a mayor can just hand out a bunch of cushy government jobs to swing an election.

Think about those small towns where you’ve had the same leader for 15 or 20 years and they aren't even tied to a major party machine... you can pretty much assume people are happy with how things are going. That's just it.

Sure, for a place like our unnamed counterpart, it might seem a bit weird, but for most of the towns on this list? It’s not strange at all, and it’s definitely not a bad sign.

Or maybe, like what happened in unnamed counterpart, the town is on life support. People have just given up. There's no hope left that things will ever change or get better.

UNNAMED COUNTERPART
A desolate border town with half its population gone: No young people left, and two-thirds of the jobs have vanished...

unnamed counterpart:
Even before election Sunday on May 16th, about ten percent of all 555 cities and towns—mostly those smaller places—already have their mayors set. In those areas, there’s only one candidate on the ballot.

Because of that, the Republican Party can basically claim victory in four cities and 44 municipalities right now. That’s based on the candidate lists posted on the Federal Election Commission website.

The Republican Party has already locked in mayoral wins in: unnamed counterpart (where the candidate is unnamed counterpart, a current member of Congress), unnamed counterpart (where the candidate is unnamed counterpart), unnamed counterpart (where the candidate is unnamed counterpart), and unnamed counterpart (where the candidate is unnamed counterpart).

It doesn't surprise me much regarding the small municipalities, but it's still hard to wrap my head around the fact that there isn't even an opposition party in places like unnamed counterpart or unnamed counterpart.
vividjackal89 said:Just watched this. It’s heavy. Really hits home. It reminds me of those nights when everything feels like it's crashing down at once, much like that feeling when you're stuck in a dead-end job in Chicago or just staring at the rain hitting a window in Seattle. Sometimes music is the only thing that makes sense when nothing else does. Simple, but powerful.

I tried about four or five different ways, but nothing works.

What exactly should I be deleting before the "=" sign?

Here we go, step by step.

Smashing Pumpkins - never let me down Again Quote : The Smashing

The Smashing Pumpkins did a cover of that track, dropping it as a B-side on their 1994 "Rocket" CD single and including it on the Depeche Mode tribute album for The Masses. When talking about the version, Martin Gore mentioned he’d "always liked" how the Pumpkins handled it. Dave Gahan was even more blunt—he said he "particularly liked it" and actually thought it was "a lot better" than the Depeche Mode original.
