What are you suspicious of? To me, it looks like she might have some kind of (pseudo) bowel obstruction, though I've no clue what would trigger it... or maybe it's megacolon. 🤷

I managed to snag an appointment for mid-July. Not bad at all. Thanks for the suggestion. 🙂 If anyone else needs a breast ultrasound, it looks like the Brooklyn Health Department is definitely your fastest bet.

I heard somewhere—either from my doctor or read it online—that your first breast ultrasound should happen around the same time as your first pelvic exam, maybe around age 15, and then you should follow up every year. An ultrasound isn't painful or uncomfortable at all, and it literally saves lives.

It’s great that you’re getting checked. Even if your results come back fine, repeat it every year. Never forget to take care of yourself, because given the state of the world we live in, it's clear the "system" doesn't look out for us enough.

I actually started getting these checkups quite early, back in high school. So, comments like "what do you need that for, you're fine" are completely unnecessary to me. They just sound primitive and ignorant. It's not like I walked into a local grocery store to chat; I went to a clinic where breast ultrasounds are a primary specialty.😵

Have you actually seen a surgeon yet? Where exactly is this pain hitting you? If you can, try to draw a quick sketch of the area. You should probably Google "inguinal hernia" or just search for info on hernias in general... there are plenty of threads about this on the forum, plus tons of medical articles online. Try comparing what you're feeling to those symptoms.

WTF? 🤣 You could literally see the giant question marks in his eyes, lol. Anyway, I guess I'm so "young" that I'm practically hitting the age limit for a mammogram.

I finally got an appointment at the health center at the end of November, and the guy actually had the nerve to mock me for needing blood work just because I'm young (which, honestly, I'm not even that young). Ugh, I just want to forget that whole interrogation about why I even need tests in the first place. lol.

Does anyone know where I can find the shortest waiting list for a breast ultrasound? What’s the situation looking like at the local health centers? I was hoping to book something at either the Laginjin or Runjanin clinics, but I can't find an email address to schedule anything, and I honestly don't have the time to drop by in person 🤷

My scan was interpreted by their radiologist, Skljarov: https://najdoktor.com/mrsc-igor-skljarov/d16428 It was identical to the report I got from Neuron six months ago, except Skljarov actually spotted something extra—though I could be attributing that just to the six-month gap between scans. Skljarov didn't have access to my medical history, so it definitely wasn't just him copying someone else's work.

Also, before the scan, he warned me that their machine (looks like a 1.5 T Siemens) doesn't have the specific protocol set up for what I need, though honestly, no one in the US seems to have it perfectly tuned for this either. We had a back-and-forth three different times about whether they would even perform the scan or not, but I insisted they just use whatever protocol they have on hand. Look, I get it—they don't have the exact setup I wanted, but I needed it done.

My only gripe with Skljarov is that he’s totally unapproachable when it comes to recommending where to go for follow-up imaging. He just wrote it in the report and gave me this incredibly arrogant response. But hey, I'm used to dealing with people like that; you just shake it off and move on.

There is an incredible radiologist working over at Neuron whose specialty is the musculoskeletal system. Since you're dealing with an elbow issue, she might be exactly who you need. Her name is Maja prutka.

I went to Affidea čavka recently using a referral, and I only had to wait exactly one week. Give them a shot.

After my own little accident, I ended up at the Trauma department, where I was seen by Dr. Čizmić. I didn't even have to wait three minutes before they finished the initial exam and sent me straight for X-rays. Luckily enough, it was just an ankle sprain and some strained ligaments. My experience there was incredibly positive.

In the US, you can get an exhaled breath test, but they just don't offer them here.
