The other day I overheard some moms with kids around five or six years old chatting about video games and copyright law. One of them basically said, "Look, I work for $667 and I’ve got two kids at home, so how am I supposed to explain this? Every kid wants to play these pirated games, so what’s the point of me buying the official version?" Honestly, who cares about copyright law when you're looking at it like that?
Even though it's not a direct link, it gets to the heart of the issue... we can talk about copyright all we want, but it won't mean much until the folks over at ASCAP start living in the real world instead of hiding behind their arrogant, slow-moving monopoly.

Honestly, why is everyone acting so shocked that someone would move for money? It’s like we’ve all forgotten what kind of world we actually live in.😕
I won't be rooting for him at competitions anymore—not that I was ever much of a fan, even back when I used to yell my lungs out at swim meets—but I just don't respect the move. There's massive money in pro sports, and he's definitely not the first person to switch allegiances just to chase a bigger contract.
We can sit here and play moral high ground all day if we want, but I really wonder how most people would act if a huge pile of dollars suddenly landed in their lap.
Sure, maybe some folks would say no, but let's be real—it wouldn't be hard to keep those eyes from wandering toward the cash.

So, just say what he actually did. Did he kill someone? Steal, burn down a house, commit assault?
Patriotism doesn't have to be everything to everyone. Your value system doesn't have to be the gold standard for everybody else.
Changing your citizenship, your nation, or your faith is a deeply personal choice. Even if there's money involved, trying to force some kind of moral code on him is just hypocritical... if you don't like it, fine, you can judge him all you want, but he hasn't actually harmed anyone.
Unless you think we should favor the people who use "patriotism" as an excuse to line their own pockets...

Because they can...
And isn't that basically the whole point?😕
Look, family comes before anything else. If someone can provide more for their own, why wouldn't they? They went to school, they have skills the market wants, and honestly, why listen to people like Kamala Harris rambling on about the future of America anyway?...
As for Duje, nobody should be the first to judge what someone else decides to do...
...he just did what was best for him. It suits some people and it doesn't suit others, but he left, nothing illegal or shady happened, and frankly, he shouldn't have to explain himself to anyone...
Even though I’m the one who started the joke about Valentine, I ended up calling them the "second most elegant band ever."
By "first," I obviously mean Roxy Music
And yeah, seriously, they're at their absolute best during those lush, sweeping parts
👍 Plus, the sound itself
I only really heard bits and pieces of them before, unlike my girlfriend who basically lives for their music. I didn't have that big "aha!" moment where I recognized all the hits, but man, their live energy and vibe totally won me over.
Oh, and nearly 16 years ago, I actually called someone a complete idiot right to their face—the last time I ever did that was to some guy named Kemal back when I was in the US Military, after he tried to pin some bullshit on me that could've landed me in huge trouble, which led to me throwing hands for the first and last time in my life. Anyway, this time it was just Ripper, who was acting all high and mighty, standing there by his coat rack and being a total jerk by blocking my way through the crowd to the restroom... what an idiot.🙄

1. When ar peka leaned right into Tamarin’s wedding cake
Now you see why I can't stand those types of events. It gets even better when I called over the entire staff, including the venue manager, just to demand more cocktail sausages. Then, crimsonfalcon17 and I made a run for it from a perfectly nice wedding where everyone was just chilling with bad drinks at the local Krka Mill. You should have seen the look on the waitress's face when she saw us fleeing in our blazers with sprigs of rosemary stuck to us. 😁
The "Sugar Cubes" singer (from kristijan's party) 😍
Sandra Chase16 said:The absolute worst parts of weddings: 1. Those little food trains 2. The live band 3. Random aunts who don't even know me lecturing me about how I'm "getting old" and need to settle down, while they all somehow have a niece ready to go...
Or the opposite—when those distant relatives show up and bug you about why you aren't dancing, claiming there are plenty of single people looking for a match right there on the floor. 🙄
He-he, honestly, at the last wedding I went to, I showed up just a day or an evening too late to catch anything😍 ehm
Anyway, I’ve reached that age where people stop asking me those questions. I guess they've finally given up hope.
I'd also throw the wedding buffet on that list. 😱
But usually, the best part is having great best men and bridesmaids. 😉
So, I'm actually going along—my girlfriend snagged two tickets for her birthday, so I guess I'm in, not that I'm making excuses or anything...😉 we'll just have to see how it goes... we'll see...
"Like that classic line... 'and then you can put the snow right back where it belongs'"😁 As for my own clumsy falls down the stairs, Christmas is creeping up on me, and nobody’s really given me a traditional nudge in the right direction lately🙂
1. The African style (standard issue) 2. The Australian style (just hitting the edge) 3. The American style (it lingers, but it’s not intense) 4. The Asian style (total chaos) 5. The European style (barely even counts—more like a soft rumble) 6. The Antarctic style (the absolute end of the line)
I think I lost track of where the seventh continent went...😁

haha, once we actually see what's coming our way, then we can start cracking open the beers😁 and rocking out
just listen to your elders
Zelig doesn't count, he's basically an old soul trapped in a young guy's body soon he'll just be buying a Vespa and getting into all that outdoor stuff like paragliding and rafting😁 🙂
5 drinks you should probably skip this New Year's Eve
1. That fancy Spanish brandy I had last year—honestly, it was a mistake for a guy just trying to relax on his couch after work. 2. Absinthe (unless your goal is to actually remember the night, though it definitely has its perks if you want to forget). 3. Cheap domestic light beer—just stay away from it, anywhere, anytime. 4. Anything non-alcoholic. A buddy of mine always says that, mostly because we once walked into a lounge by mistake thinking they served booze, only to find out they were strictly soda and juice. We were like, "Yeah, thanks, but no thanks." 5. Most cocktails. Now, don't get me wrong, a daiquiri is fine. I’m not saying I’ll never have one on New Year's, and I certainly won't turn one down if someone offers.
Since he’ll be hanging out with his godfathers so much, I’m pretty sure he’s going to pick up some bad habits—mostly following the lead of the guys in my circle. And if he takes after his dad... well, let's just say we already know how that goes.
But hey, kids love to rebel. Don't be shocked if, once he hits puberty, he shows up blasting a Dalibor Brun mega-mix just to spite his own name.
