Spa therapy in Palm Springs in Health ·
This isn't strictly on-topic, I know—but I have this memory from when I was a kid. After undergoing surgery on both Achilles tendons, I was sent off to Palm Springs for what they called "rehabilitation."
Essentially, being only about ten years old, I was placed in a room with six other kids who all had various psychological disorders (I was the only one in the room who wasn't still in diapers). Naturally, being in that kind of environment meant I was a constant target for bullying.
The food situation was a disaster; after just a few days, I ended up with a nasty case of diarrhea. Once the nurses realized what was happening, they put me on a "diet." In other words, for the next several days, my entire sustenance consisted of nothing but dry toast and tea. Luckily, my grandmother came to visit on the second day, saw how gaunt I looked, and started smuggling extra food in for me.
As for the actual physical therapy—despite being diagnosed with muscle atrophy in my legs—only one person ever actually showed up to work on my legs specifically. Most of the time, they just threw me into a group setting and made us grind through standard exercises like sit-ups, push-ups, and some back movements... It's actually quite ironic, because I eventually learned to walk again just by using the little park area behind the ward, thanks to some elderly relatives who came to visit me. I also only saw the pool about once; they would always find some excuse as to why it was closed, or nobody would bother coming to pick me up.

All in all, I came back from that experience both physically and mentally exhausted—shriveled up and thin, but with a rock-solid determination that the only way they'd ever get me back into a place like that was if I were in a casket. 🙄
Have you guys gotten your flu shots yet? in Health ·
dustycanyon6 said:Can you elaborate on that? My view is that vaccination actually works to suppress our immunity—flu and similar ailments are primarily issues within the immune system itself, which means they hit those with already compromised systems first and hardest. Because of the mercury and other toxins present in vaccines, our immune response gets weakened after the shot, leaving us more vulnerable to infections. Getting a flu shot just doesn't seem like a smart move.

Honestly, spending a full week battling the flu will do far more damage to your body than any vaccine ever could. That’s precisely why recurring bouts of the flu can be so dangerous.

I honestly feel like getting vaccinated against avian flu is a bit of a lost cause...
The way I see it, this vaccine only targets those specific bird-to-human viruses, rather than the kind of strain that would actually trigger a massive global pandemic...
It might be more practical to just focus on staying current with the standard seasonal flu shot instead.

Hmm... where were you actually standing when Chernobyl went up in flames?

To be perfectly honest, I haven't the slightest clue what could be causing that—but if I were you, I’d probably head straight to the ER before you start noticing anything strange happening with your fingers...

Well... I was just starting to feel like I might actually be a lucky person 🙂

Hmm... calling UV rays "harmless"... that honestly sounds like an oxymoron to me...

I’ll be sure to ask my dermatologist about it once I finally find a spare moment to swing by their office.🙂

Is there any actual risk of that causing cancer?

Haha... that bit about stress is a nice touch...
I mean, I’d love for someone to explain how you're supposed to be a college student at a place like MIT—while dealing with two seriously ill family members, being perpetually broke, having a landlord who's trying to kick you out of your apartment, and *still* somehow avoiding stress 😁
As for tanning beds... does anyone actually know how to get those beneficial effects from IBM without ending up with skin cancer? 😁

Honestly, nothing beats a shot of hot chromic sulfuric acid first thing in the morning. It’s a total miracle worker—cleanses your entire system right down to the bone 😁

More ads popping up for those "miracle" treatments...
Is this someone new trying to sell something, or did MacGregor finally land himself a new gig? 🙂🙄

I honestly don't know what to do with myself at this point..🙄

Why don't you just wait 😁

If it really is psoriasis, it’ll eventually flare back up—and once it does, then you can go see your doctor again...

Personally, I was never really much of a heavy drinker, but I eventually realized that things go much smoother if I just skip those "occasional" beers altogether.

A quick tip...
I’ve noticed that even sipping on small amounts of alcohol tends to make things worse...
If you ask me...

Hmm... I'm not entirely sure. Could you maybe go into a bit more detail about where this showed up, what area it's covering, what it actually looks like, and whether it's bothering you at all—like if there's any pain or itching?

Hmm... if you're already noticing a distinct little spot like that, I'm not entirely convinced it's actually psoriasis...
I’d strongly suggest heading over to your primary care physician right away—they'll likely end up referring you to a specialist after they take a look.

I just stumbled upon an article online promoting these supposedly "miracle" herbal, all-natural remedies for psoriasis—except, through some bizarre twist of fate, they’re packed with illegal levels of corticosteroids 🙄 ...
Shouldn't we be more careful about this kind of thing?
Johnson & Johnson in Health ·
Hannah Davis18 said:Oh man, my doctor actually told me that stuff like Johnson & Johnson or similar creams should only be used on the skin for about two weeks max.

My doctor is a real pro, though—he knows his stuff better than anyone. I’m honestly just glad he finally decided to refer me to a specialist instead of trying to handle it all himself.🙄

Mark Fox68 said:Honestly, they don't really provide lasting relief—at least not in the long run. I only end up using them when my skin completely loses its mind due to stress, and even then, I only stick to it for about a week before I have to stop...😢

I feel you, 🙂

My doctor actually had me on Johnson & Johnson for three full months... and there was absolutely zero improvement—nothing, except for that incredibly intense flare-up I got once I finally stopped applying it...😢

My primary care physician finally threw in the towel and wrote me a referral for a specialist.
So now I'm wondering—does anyone have a solid recommendation for a good specialist they trust?
