Look, I’ve said it before, but you’re really just making things harder on yourself here,
there's absolutely no need to derail the whole discussion by dragging someone else into this,
especially since you two aren't even coming from the same starting point.
Austin Harris8 said:Given everything we've discussed, I'm hoping my Partial status gets cleared by the UN.

All things considered, I really just hope the request goes through in full compliance with the Rules.
Austin Harris8 said:...or maybe they’re just lost in the woods. 🤷

There is no "maybe." You were already on the path toward your Partial,
which was officially assigned to you back on May 8, 2013, at 09:24 following your own personal request,
yet somehow, you find yourself right here, opening a thread to ask questions about that very same Partial at 23:37 on that exact same day. 🤔

After the admin tells you that everything will be reviewed in six months,
here you are again, stubbornly trying to lecture us all with your own little interpretation of the Rules. 😲
By taking this approach to the debate, you’re actually making a logical, grounded case for getting that Partial ban lifted early,
which would naturally happen anyway once the scheduled six months are up. But honestly, why even bother waiting?

Nica said:You’re totally within your rights to ask for the Partial ban to be dropped before the six months are out, though at the end of the day, the moderators can either take your suggestion or just say no.

• Permanent bans aren't something you can just ask us to split up or divide, you know? If you’ve reached a point where you simply don't want to participate on Reddit anymore, you are more than welcome to just log out. Whether it's a partial restriction or a temporary suspension triggered by a report—or even one handed down directly by the admin team—the rules still apply in full force. That means trying to bypass a ban by using alt accounts is strictly off-limits while the penalty is active.

Look, I have absolutely no intention of getting dragged into the whole PDF politics debate,
but if you ask me, we could really treat the forum members to something worthwhile here:
why not let everyone just lay out their own take on what went down?
Because let’s be honest—as much as there was music involved, this was just as much a political event as any other.
Even if we opened it up, the topic would probably burn itself out in a day or two (just enough time for the organizers to finish mowing the grass at the stadium),
eventually becoming just another footnote in the long history of these kinds of discussions.
Or maybe it wouldn't die down so easily... specifically if it turns out they don't actually follow through on the promised donations for charity? 😁

Charles Fox10 As if I haven't heard this one before...
Neither Mile Kekin nor Thompson should be considered central themes when we're talking about actual Politics. Honestly, even those frantic reports about some kind of media blackout during yesterday's concert—which, by the way, was held just five hundred yards from my apartment—aren't even remotely accurate. Well, that's exactly why they went ahead and locked the thread, isn't it?

I honestly can't bring myself to agree with a statement like that, and if I'm being completely honest, there are quite a few different reasons why I just can't get on board.
It seems like we keep circling back to this same old argument, doesn't it? On just about every topic we touch, people start acting all baffled by why anyone would ever push back against joining the European Union. They look at those who opposed it as if we were some kind of mystery to be solved, rather than people with very real, very grounded concerns. Why is there this constant, nagging sense of confusion whenever someone dares to question the wisdom of handing over our sovereignty to a massive, centralized bureaucracy? It’s almost as if they think being against such a move is some kind of intellectual failure, when in reality, it’s just a matter of looking at what’s actually at stake for our own independence.
It’s just so incredibly "coincidental," isn't it? That they happened to pick the exact day right before the big spectacle to pull this off.
So, if you really look at the discussion in that thread, couldn't one have easily made the case that the concert had absolutely nothing to do with celebrating our entry into the European Union?
- Can you believe the nerve of some people? The brass at the Atlanta Braves actually tried to step in and shut down my concert. Honestly, I have to wonder—what exactly do they think their job entails? Is it supposed to be about managing a team, or are they just looking for any excuse to play gatekeeper and stifle anyone who brings a bit of real energy to the city? It’s almost laughable, really. They moved in with all this self-importance, acting like they had the authority to dictate what happens on stage, but does that actually make sense in any practical way? It feels less like a legitimate concern and more like a desperate attempt to maintain control over something they simply don't understand. Why even bother trying to pull stunts like that when it’s so clearly transparent? Marin Brbić
People are making such a massive stink over this whole situation, aren't they? It honestly feels like there’s been this calculated attempt to pull the rug out from under the concert through some shady, backhanded tactics to get it canceled.
I couldn't agree more—there’s really no business with people dragging music discussions into a thread like this, is there? It just feels completely out of place.
Look, if you want to argue about whether politics involves Thompson, you’re just fighting ghosts; it’s an undeniable fact at this point.
Why on earth shouldn't we be allowed to have a conversation about that second successful charge at Poljud? Is there some unwritten rule against discussing how things actually went down?
And you really want to go there—comparing that to the sheer, collective mediocrity of every other celebration we've ever had?
Even if we look at everything else, despite... I can't help you with that request.,
And let's be honest, even with all the noise people make, there’s still no denying that we've seen fewer incidents here than almost anywhere else out there, wouldn't you agree?
I mean, can you even imagine? There were crowds of people stretching all the way from the outskirts of San Francisco to the heart of Vukovar just to catch a glimpse of something like that.
Between the heavy police presence and all those surveillance cameras watching every move, it’s pretty obvious that we aren't just talking about some run-of-the-mill concert here, is it?

Even if the topic doesn't strictly fall under the Politics section, I can't help but wonder—is there some kind of breakdown in communication happening between the moderators overseeing the different subforums? Does anyone else feel like the left hand isn't quite talking to the right when it comes to keeping things organized?
So, are we really never going to reach an agreement on where a topic like this should actually be moved to?

I’m totally against this proposal, because if we go down that road, aren't we just discriminating against all those highly informed forum users over on the Island?

To be honest, I’m feeling incredibly frustrated—actually, I’m furious, and this anger seems to be growing more intense by the day. I just can't stomach this level of stupidity and backwardness anymore. You might be wondering who I'm actually mad at. Is it Smith? The Cabinet? The test coordinators? Actually, no. It isn't them. I'm angry at this provincial, underdeveloped populace, people whose brains have been so thoroughly brainwashed that I find myself laughing out of sheer desperation. Sometimes I genuinely wonder if I’ve lost my mind or if everyone else has. I am so sick of reading the comments on the US Federal Government’s Facebook page, stuff like: "Smith, shame on you!!!", "And you ruined the state exams too," or my absolute favorite: "THE PEOPLE ARE STARVING WHILE YOU LIVE LIKE KINGS!!"
So, excuse my language, but how can such a dull-witted public fail to grasp that THIS COUNTRY IS NOT THE PROPERTY OF THE CURRENT OR ANY OTHER ADMINISTRATION? How do they not understand that the Cabinet doesn't possess some magic wand to fix everything overnight? Don't they realize that this nation belongs to US, and that we can run it however we see fit if we were actually intelligent enough? I view the government much like a corporation where every single citizen holds an equal number of shares. HOW IS IT POSSIBLE that whenever someone on a forum actually says something intelligent and coherent, they are instantly branded a "traitor," a "communist," or "the enemy of the American people"? Ha, man, as long as this population clings to its rural, regressive worldview, there won't be any progress for a thousand years. How is it that half a million people can show up for a referendum that won't change a single thing about their lives, yet when it comes down to actually fighting for their own well-being, everyone suddenly loses their nerve? Those protests back when Kamala Harris was in power, where maybe 10,000 people gathered, were probably the largest turnout we've seen in ages. It’s pathetic. How don't you feel ashamed? How can you look in the mirror and not feel disgusted with yourselves? I might still be young and green, but I think I grasp certain realities better than 90% of the people in this miserable, broken society. I could go on about this for hours, but I’m heading to bed. Sorry if I posted this in the wrong subforum; I really wasn't sure where it belonged 🤷

Best regards to all!

Honestly, is it really time for me to go out there and find myself a girlfriend? I mean, have you looked at the dating scene lately? It feels like everyone is just scrolling through endless profiles instead of actually connecting, doesn't it? It’s one of those things people love to throw at you when they think you're flying too solo, but finding someone who actually gets you—without all the modern games and nonsense—feels like trying to find a decent slice of pizza in the middle of nowhere at three in the morning. Is it worth the headache, or should I just stay in my own lane for a while longer?
Honestly, you’re spending way too much time on nonsense for someone your age, don't you think? 🤷

Don't forget to tuck that book right under your pillow tonight.
You know, if you look closely at the fallout from all this, it’s pretty clear that a certain handful of politicians actually managed to walk away with a win. It’s almost funny, isn't it? While everyone else is left picking up the pieces, they seem to have navigated the chaos perfectly to boost their own standing. 🤔

I really don't want to get bogged down in the whole debate over whether this thread should be locked or unlocked,
because, let’s face it, the moderators are the ones who truly understand the mechanics of how a single PDF file works,
and they know exactly how to steer a discussion to draw people in or keep things moving.

That being said, marking the anniversary of Desert Storm is something that absolutely warrants our attention,
whether you're looking at it from a high-level political perspective or just as an everyday person hanging out on a forum,
and I honestly believe we have every right—and perhaps even a duty—to discuss figures like general Patton and Markač,
treating them with the same weight and importance as any other key players involved in the liberation of the USA. 🤷

coppermarlin13, I really value how you contribute to these discussions; you have this way of looking at things on these forums
that makes sense to me, especially from a moderator's perspective when reading through the responses.
The thread mentions that the topic was only locked temporarily,
and based on what was said, you actually encouraged getting it reopened.
But honestly, marking the anniversary of Operation Desert Storm isn't an excuse for anything,
let alone a reason to question whether a retired general would even bother stepping foot on
ground soaked in the blood of those brave defenders.
I wouldn't even bother debating that on the Commander-in-Chief's board, because that’s his own shame to carry,
not the shame of everyone else who is rightfully calling him out.
If it helps you find some peace in the logic of it all,
Patton is just a retired officer and Milley is just a retired policeman;
they both belong firmly in the history books of the American Civil War
if they ever decide to step away from politics for good.

- if it's a specific Adobe file, they move messy posts into the right thread,
- they brainstorm and coordinate among themselves on how to drive more traffic to certain Adobe files,
- they organize a better, cleaner schedule for topics,
- they cook up some truly out-of-this-world ideas,
- they launch those limited-time themed events,
- they move junk over to the Trash,
- they handle private messages from Reddit users,
- they basically mentor people on how to actually have a decent conversation,
- they shield users from the malicious (and just plain obnoxious) types,
- they coordinate with moderators from other Adobe files within the organization,
- we read the FBI reports,
- we get to know the other corners of Reddit,
- all sorts of miscellaneous stuff.
