You can't just pick a name like that and expect things to be fine. Don't you think about how much kids get roasted? They'll be getting laughed at at preschool or even just out on the playground. It's like, what, am I gonna name my kid "Stupid"? Seriously...😠 Anyway, his wife is pregnant now, too, and honestly, I don't feel like it's my place to judge their choice of names. That's their business, not mine...
Come on, I'm dying to know—what name did you guys end up going with?.. Look at our guy's signature down there 😁 and, honestly, we never dealt with those kinds of aggressive comments... it was mostly just people being genuinely puzzled; like, "Wait, how? Why? Where did that come from?" Or, since the name is a bit unconventional, people who actually appreciate unique names were super supportive and told him he nailed it. Truth be told, a few people thought it was ugly and said so, but it was just an honest opinion, nothing more. And frankly, why should we care what they think? 🙂 I honestly can't imagine anyone being so aggressive about forcing their opinions on others like you all are describing here. 🤷

It’s not even that I don't want it, it's just the way it actually happens. 🙄 It’s either my bladder acting up so I have to run to the bathroom (total mood killer), or my belly getting in the way of mine 😬 so we can't get comfortable, and then I just end up getting shoved aside... yeah, it's a mess. 🙄 And sleep? Don't even get me started on sleep. There is no sleep. I crash around 9 PM, but I’m wide awake by 2 AM. Between bathroom trips and everything else, I don't get back to sleep until basically sunrise. What really gets under my skin is how everyone stares at my stomach! They ask all these stupid, mindless questions—you know the ones, you've all said them already. Or they look at my bump and give me that patronizing little grin like, "Aww, look at the mommy-to-be!" 🤣
To top it all off, I had a freaking cyst flare up on my butt the other day, so now I can't even lie down or sit properly. It is killing me, I can't even describe how much this sucks. I am seriously just praying this thing pops so I can finally sit down like a normal human being. 😢
Other than that, nothing else really bothers me... hopefully... If I can just deal with these little annoyances, I actually love being pregnant! Seriously! And if it were up to me, I'd stay pregnant forever! 😍
Man... you really hit a nerve there... it reminded me exactly how it feels when you're finally starting to feel all turned on and wild, and then, right in the middle of foreplay, the baby starts kicking from inside like, "Hey, excuse me, what do you think you're doing out there?" 😬
Yeah, it’s way too early to be telling yourself that. I mean, honestly—three days after the deed? It’s practically impossible for your breasts to be reacting to a pregnancy that quickly 🤷
There’s really no other option here but to buckle down and wait at least another week ☕
🤮I’m currently 14 weeks along and sitting at exactly 0 pounds gained. I know that's a solid zero because I actually weighed myself just to be certain—not that anyone asked—and then there’s this old busybody at the office who, in her endless attempts to be "sweet," decides to chime in with: "Oh, you don't even have a little bump yet, you're just widening out! Teehee!"
Honestly, she can just go jump in a lake. 🙄 I swear, some people have so much nerve it's almost impressive... if it weren't so incredibly irritating.
So, I’ve been getting all these "helpful" suggestions about what I should—and absolutely shouldn't—be doing, especially since I'm just starting out. They tell me to go for bike rides, take long walks in the sun, carry around a few pounds of peaches from the farmer's market, or go for long swims... honestly, my neighbors and the folks around town are acting like they need to hover over me with this intense, overbearing concern 😠..
How do I tell someone to back off without sounding like a complete jerk, but still making it crystal clear that I'm annoyed and want them to leave me alone? 🤷
Anthony Johnson2 said:In any case... it really does drive you crazy... Oh, and another thing that irritates me—when people start having kids and suddenly act like they have to give away their dog 😕 ....as if that’s even an option.
Oh, absolutely... and then there's that lovely little disclaimer about how the dog is "jealous" and you shouldn't let them near the baby 🙄 Look, first off—and obviously—we’re going to be incredibly careful. We'll watch how they react, and sure, there might be a little jealousy there—dogs are living creatures, after all—and we'll work on helping them adjust. BUT, if we actually need advice from random strangers who haven't even laid eyes on our dog? THANKS, BUT NO THANKS. 😠
rustyrider20 said:Wait, is that the one in those fancy little tin containers? Honestly, I’d buy it just to keep the tin later. 😁 Personally, I swear by pure unrefined coconut oil—I keep a massive tub $33 on hand. I use it for everything: cooking, moisturizing my skin and hands, lip balm, even as a hair mask.
Metal tins? No, not quite—it's more like a plastic bucket that isn't exactly high-end, and there's actually a cannabis leaf printed right on the lid 🤣. It smells pretty pleasant, though, which is a relief because some other oils from that same line of extravagance smelled absolutely foul—like something burnt or rancid... I can't tell if that's just how they are or if something went sideways during shipping or storage 🤷
So, where on earth do you pick up that pure coconut oil?? Cooking with coconut oil... I know, I know, totally off-topic, but now I'm curious 😁
rustyrider20 said:Same story over here... especially these last few days. I finally switched to coconut butter and oil since it's heavier—it actually keeps things soft for a bit longer (though I still have to reapply 2 or 3 times a day just to stay functional)
My personal lifesaver? The Extravagance body butter. It is an absolute necessity for those winter days when the central heating is cranked up to a ridiculous degree and the air gets so dry no amount of wet towels hanging over the radiators can fix it. My skin just starts peeling and tightening up—it’s miserable.
Anyway, that stuff has been a total game-changer for me; my skin actually feels nourished from that miracle cream. It’s packed with coconut butter, shea butter, hemp oil, and beeswax... you can grab it at Target for about $7 or so.
stormymoose8 said:Yeah, technically ovulation should occur 14 days before your period. It can definitely be delayed, but if that happens, your period usually gets pushed back too... But then you have that method from Jonas (if that's his name) which claims the exact opposite. That theory suggests it doesn't have to be exactly 14 days, but could happen any time during the cycle—meaning a woman could be fertile any day, even during her period. To me, that doesn't make much sense, but since people actually have ended up pregnant using that method, I’m honestly stumped. 🤷)
Hmm, this is actually the first time I’ve heard about this here—specifically from you. It sounds pretty interesting, almost like a fringe theory (not that I’m trying to debate whether it actually holds water or not, it’s just kind of a fascinating concept 😍).
I did a little digging online, so here’s the gist for anyone curious:
The whole idea rests on the claim that the moon dictates female fertility. As most people know, the moon goes through its own phases over a 28-day cycle, transforming from a full moon to a new moon and back again. At the moment of a woman's birth, the moon is in one of those specific positions. You could describe the state quite simply, like "8 days after the full moon" or "3 days before the new moon." Just a matter of counting the days, right? And the kicker is: if a woman was born 8 days after a full moon, she will supposedly be fertile at that exact same interval every single month—8 days after the full moon! Or so they say.
If you want to look up the lunar cycles (retroactively)—you can check somewhere like this: http://www.moonconnection.com/moon_p...calendar.phtml.
From looking that up, I found out that on my birthday, the moon was 5 days away from being a new moon. Since the new moon falls on the 15th this month, that would mean my "window" is the 10th—even though, according to my actual ovulation dates (and I have very regular 28-day cycles), I should have ovulated two days ago ☕
Anyway, since we’re planning to start trying for a baby (not immediately, but in a few months), I’m more than willing to test this theory out and see what happens 😁 I’ll definitely report back with the results 😬
By the way, it's worth mentioning that Dr. Jones didn't just make this up; he supposedly unearthed it from the "records" of ancient civilizations who believed astrology governed everything happening on Earth 😉
steeldriver2 said:I am certainly no medical expert, but it is my understanding that fertility is strictly limited to the ovulation window. That said, this period doesn't necessarily fall right in the middle of the cycle every single time; it can occur earlier or later depending on the individual. In my own experience, I conceived toward the very end of my cycle—specifically about four or five days before my period was due, which would be day 27 or 28.
See, this is where I’m getting tripped up—I keep running into claims like the one above (honestly, mostly just here on this forum, nowhere else I've looked), even though the "official" textbook version is that ovulation occurs exactly 14 days before your next period arrives. In plain English: Fourteen days.
So, if someone has a 30-day cycle, ovulation should hit on day 16, right?
But based on what Klara (and several others) are suggesting, it sounds like ovulation could happen on day 10 or even day 22, yet the period still shows up perfectly on schedule on day 30? —Am I following the logic here, or am I totally missing something? 🤷
Since I’m hardly a regular around here—and let’s be honest, I doubt anyone actually cares about my specific drama—I should probably wrap this whole saga up. Those contractions kept coming... but by this morning, it was painfully obvious that my period was finally arriving. Between the lower back pain and the cramping everywhere else, I knew it was going to be a rough one. I braced myself for the worst, and after taking some Advil, the pain actually knocked me out cold. It was brutal. Anyway, yeah, the period is officially here.. 🙄
Anthony Johnson2 said:...I really hope you are... but those symptoms don't necessarily have to mean pregnancy.... I know from experience, I remember one time when I was waiting just like this, watching every tiny detail and every change in my body... hoping, and in the end, there was nothing there..... what a disappointment that was.... I know it's hard, but please, just try to be patient a little longer
Well, the disappointment has arrived. 👎 Now I guess I can move on to being a total 😉 just kidding... but seriously, I’m so glad I found this group. I’ve learned so much about what might be ahead for me one day.
Maybe—and I mean maybe, I don't know—but I've listed my symptoms. Let me try laying them out chronologically;
-First off, I’ve been peeing constantly (yeah, seriously) and there's this... different scent to my urine. It has these notes I can't quite put my finger on, and it definitely isn't diet-related because it's been like this for 10 days now.
-Every day, there’s been this yellowish discharge on my daily liner (it's been going on for about 7-8 days). The smell is okay, it’s just thicker and comes out in a single drop—honestly, over the last few days, I've been sprinting to the bathroom just to check if my period had started.
-Most specifically, about 4 or 5 days ago while I was sleeping, I felt this sensation in my uterus—like it was expanding, filling up, swelling? I actually thought I might have been dreaming. But then the next afternoon, it happened again... just while I was resting. And I can't even pull in my lower stomach like I used to; I've always had an extremely flat stomach—zero bloating, very proud of that line—🙂 but now my lower abdomen just feels bloated.
-The nasal congestion started around then too (only at night).
-Then, three days ago, I was a million percent sure because I felt incredibly lightheaded—totally unable to function at work, forgetful, almost like I was drugged. Headaches, pressure, mood swings—happy, sad, angry at my boy, on the verge of tears, then happy again just because he was happy... that was basically my whole Wednesday and Thursday. Oh, and nausea—I didn't actually throw up, but I had genuine bouts of nausea during the day, not in the morning (more like motion sickness, like when you're sitting awkwardly on a train ride).
-Yesterday, I finally felt normal again.🙂
-But tonight, I've got these unpleasant cramps. They feel exactly like my period cramps, just much weaker—since my actual periods absolutely wreck me—but still strong enough that they woke me up several times.
Vrrrrlo detailed, I know.☕
And, thanks for all the replies. I'm certainly not any wiser after reading them, but it means a lot to me.😍😍
Oh, one more thing—do you think it's smart to show up to the OBGYN with a complete blood count already done (I'm planning to go to a private lab)? I'd love to avoid being sent running back and forth between different offices if I can help it.
Ugh, guys, I am just so confused and honestly feeling pretty down right now.. Basically, we took a test this morning—an Intim Plus—and it came back negative. And here I was thinking it was probably just some formality given all the symptoms I’ve been dealing with lately.
My last period was January 21st, and my cycles are usually super regular, around 27 to 28 days. Today is day 30, so obviously I haven't started yet, and the test really should have shown something by now 😢
To make matters worse, I spent the entire night dealing with cramps—they feel just like menstrual cramps, just a bit milder.. over the last two or three days, my hormones have been absolutely wrecking me; one minute I'm overwhelmed with sadness, the next I'm happy, then there's the brain fog, the headaches (well, okay, it was boiling hot outside today), and for the past 10 days, I've been peeing constantly like a broken faucet. I've also noticed some yellowish discharge, a stuffed-up nose (not even congested, it just feels tight and then clears up after a few minutes, happening all night for the last couple of days), and yeah, my lower abdomen feels soft and bloated too—it doesn't feel like it's just my gut 🙂 )
Now nothing makes sense. Is it actually possible that I've just imagined everything?? 😕
And what should I even do?.. Obviously, the very first thing I'm doing Monday morning is calling my doctor, but until I can get through to them on Monday... what would you all say to this... any advice? 🙂
Those stories about tests being wrong or giving false negatives—I mean, I always took those with a grain of salt (you know, testing too early, using them wrong, drinking too much water beforehand...), I truly thought those were just rare outliers.
Now I'm starting to think I'm losing my mind (autosuggestion is a powerful thing, isn't it?) and it's not like I'm trying to be one of those people who "wants to be pregnant" just for the sake of it—this just kind of happened by accident, and the idea of having a baby actually started growing on me over these last two weeks..
Oh, please... I’ve been playing it totally safe by sticking strictly to the "safe days" method this whole time, though I did decide to take a little bit of a gamble just this month 🙂
I’ve done a ton of reading on the best timing for taking a test... but honestly, I decided it was better to wait for a definitive sign—like actually missing my period—just so I don't end up giving myself some unnecessary heart attack. Until then, I'm just stockpiling 😉 Yeah, yeah... I know, I'm totally cluttering up the wrong thread
I’ve been lurking on this forum for a few days now... just hanging out in the shadows while I wait to either take a test (or just wait for my period to show up), so I figured I’d share what’s currently weighing on my mind:
My cycles are usually pretty consistent—mostly 27 or 28 days, though occasionally they'll drift to 26 or 29. We had sex on day 15 of my cycle, and today marks day 25. It feels a little early to be reaching for a test, so I'm curious—what do you all think the odds are here? 😛
I’ve been trying to run the math on this myself:
-If my cycle ends up being 26 days long, then ovulation would have happened around day 12, which means the egg wouldn't have stood a chance of surviving until day 15—plus, I'd be expecting my period by tomorrow.
-The more likely scenario is a 27-day cycle, putting ovulation at day 13. Again, the egg wouldn't survive two full days (that 24-hour window is the rule, right?)—in which case, I'll have my answer in about two days.
-Then there's the third equally plausible option: a 28-day cycle where ovulation happens on day 14, and since we had unprotected sex on day 15... well, I'll know the result in three days. ☕
Even though we weren't exactly planning for this, I find myself rooting for a positive result. 😍
Can you actually look at this through a strictly mathematical lens, or is life just too unpredictable for formulas to work? 🤷
