Well, for everyone who was whining about not getting to see 30 Seconds to Mars, you're in luck—you'll finally get your chance to catch them live at Burning Man.

I’m about 90% sure it won’t happen. That remaining 10%? That’s just pure, stubborn hope...
urbannomad30 said:I didn't go myself, but a buddy told me they weren't really there... though honestly, he might have just been trying to spare my feelings.😲

Well, I finally solved the mystery... turns out no Good was at Madison Square Garden only as a brief little interlude between two other acts.

Kings of Leon are playing June 20th and 22nd in New York City

It seems physically impossible for them to land in New York City on the 21st just to fly right back to New York City. If they were continuing a tour through the rest of the States, I could see it happening... but this? It doesn't add up.
I honestly don't think even The Prodigy will show up.
If we're talking about a lineup featuring Arcade Fire + Grinderman + Kings of Leon + The Prodigy—does anyone really believe the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival has a budget that massive? Sadly, I don't think so... it's just not realistic... or is it? (Man, if only it were true...)
Rebecca Lee said:Wait, didn't they play that at our last two shows? I have this vague memory of them playing it at a smaller venue back in the day.🤷
My absolute dream would be to hear "Wake Me Up" live.😍

It's not the 90s anymore. Just kidding... I adore no Good, but honestly, I’d much rather sit through a full set by The Invaders. Though, if Liam is on stage, I suppose I could settle for some random keyboard smashing too. XD

They didn't actually play "no Good." They were in that "Their Law" phase where they mostly played remixes of the older stuff mixed with a few rare tracks from the new era. If I recall correctly, they put on an identical performance during the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival. It would be absolutely legendary if they came through now, especially since their new material is just killer.

On their official site, they're booked for June 21st and 23rd, mostly playing festivals..

Well, if the organizers actually pay attention to that wishlist, I think it might be time for the US to show up on June 22nd. =)

1. If they don't show up, it was just fan speculation.
2. Honestly, the organizers couldn't care less about a wishlist or what fans think. You want proof? Just look at the lineups from previous years and how that official forum mysteriously vanished. 😍

Are you actually being serious right now??😕😕
Nine Inch Nails? Portishead? Arcade Fire? Grinderman? The Glitch Mob? Pulp? Beirut? I won't even get into all the DJs they have lined up, or else I'll be here all day. Are they somehow "dishonest" too?😂
Charles Hill2 said:Arcade Fire, Grinderman, and TV on the Radio definitely belong on some kind of lineup, they just aren't really your scene.

Good grief! I don't know how you people manage to read between the lines so easily. Where on earth did you read that, man?!

Let me lay out my actual perspective for you—not that it matters much, but since you're trying to pull my leg.
Nick Cave—anyone who has actually seen or heard him live knows that Nick Cave is NICK CAVE. You don't just skip over an artist like that. Plus, I’m a big fan of what Grinderman is doing.
As for Arcade Fire—to be honest, I’ve only recently started giving them more attention, and I find myself liking their music more and more. Though... I wouldn't say they have many massive hits; I tend to experience them more as atmospheric background music while I'm doing something else less demanding.
TVOTR—well... some of their tracks are killer, but for others, there isn't a critic alive who could convince me they aren't just mediocre filler.

(Now I'm just sitting here waiting for the avalanche of replies 😍😍😍)

Anyway, I was actually thinking of names like Bad Seeds, The Prodigy, Massive Attack, Morcheeba, Tricky, Moby, Kraftwerk, Franz Ferdinand, Pendulum, Stereo MC's, Iggy Pop, Alice in Chains, Morrissey, YYY, Editors, and plenty of others. My whole point was simply that everyone can find two or three artists worth buying a ticket for.
We’ve learned a bit more than we did before, but they’re still being pretty vague about the actual headliners.
I find myself constantly grumbling about how these organizers act so sloppy and irresponsible toward the fans, but somehow, in some weird twist of fate, the festival always ends up turning out alright. I suppose my logic is this: if you happen to catch even two acts you actually respect or enjoy, the ticket pays for itself—especially when you consider that seeing those same artists solo would easily run you at least $67 a pop. It seems like the folks over at Inmjuzik manage to stumble upon two or three decent performers every single year, almost by sheer luck.
Quick update. I finally grabbed my pass at the AT&T store over by the Potomac. The clerk didn't even glance at my student ID; she just asked for my driver's license and noted down the number, I suppose. Honestly, don't bother stressing over whether your post-grad credentials are current or valid... just take the risk.
Did I really just write that?☕
To be honest, I was hinting at a few other artists that a lot of people would probably love to see on the lineup, along with some of last year's picks. But I think I'll leave those names out. I don't want to end up offending anyone by calling out their absolute favorite performers.😢
I’m honestly blown away by how much you know and your general level of culture. You must have been wandering this earth for at least 200 years to have such a perfect perspective on everything.

But hey, at least we can find some common ground somewhere (like our shared love for System of a Down, for instance).
Oh my gosh, a fellow Pulp enthusiast! What am I even supposed to do now?
Give me a break, Pulp? Seriously? Since when did half of America suddenly become huge fans of them? If we're talking headliners, why wouldn't they just bring out 4 Non Blondes instead? 😂😂😂
I mean, look... what we actually need is something current. Whether people want to admit it or not, we need mainstream appeal—not some resurrected Beatles act, a one-hit wonder, or some "billy-fucking-i'm-still-young" idol.
I'm all for bringing in indie names, especially heavy hitters like Arcade Fire (assuming they even count as indie anymore), but you have to find that sweet spot. You need a balance that keeps the festival on the global map while actually making sure the tickets sell.
Come on, insiders, throw us a bone! Give us some real intel!🙂🙂
amberranger said:I mean, even RATM are basically playing for gas money and pocket change at this point...

Sure, because they're just doing it for the pure, unadulterated joy of making noise. Music is a spiritual blessing, after all. 👏👏👏
Honestly, System of a Down isn't really my thing, and I suspect they don't actually have nearly as massive a following as everyone seems to think. I doubt they're pulling in more ticket sales than A. Fire, either. Gosh, you all have me thinking now... here is who I would 😍😍😍

just one act from this group:
Daft Punk
Justice
Fatboy Slim
Chemical Brothers
The Prodigy☕

maybe one or two from this bunch:
Hadouken!
Does it offend You, yeah?
Claxons
Bloc Party
MGMT
Crystal Castles
Deadmau5
Asian Dub Foundation☕

or perhaps someone from this list:
Florence + the Machine
Bat for Lashes
Foals
The Gossip☕

then some local heavyweights and world music acts:
Kultur Shock
SARS
Kries
Kocani Orkestar
SevdahBABY!
Let3
Kiril Dzajkovski

I won't bother with categories I didn't mention earlier.🤣
Go ahead and add that to the pile as well.
I'd rather not!😍
Jamie Ramos10 said:Just a heads up, over at the local T-Center in Tampa, they basically brushed off a high schooler holding a valid certificate, basically telling them they should go find themselves a college student instead. 🙄

Look, if I were you, I’d just give them a polite nod and tell them straight up that they're being idiots. Tell them you'll be taking this right to their management. They can go hunt for students all they want and do whatever they feel like with them... assuming it's even legal, of course.
