Not much happening on Reddit, nothing new from Nicole James... ☕
Nicole James, honestly, I’d be pretty embarrassed if I were in your shoes—doing such a biased, subpar job... you can tell yourself you aren't alone, but trust me, you're definitely among the worst...
Exactly... it’s honestly nothing unusual to see a moderator just zone out and start spamming, but those kinds of outbursts really should be met with some actual penalties from the higher-ups... personally, I used to report Ryan Vaughn7's trolling posts all the time, even back here on Reddit, though I can't quite remember if anyone ever actually did anything about it...
The thread is locked, but here’s the actual scoop:
Someone needs to call Reuters! ☕
Hey there, forum leadership...
Look, everyone is entitled to their own perspective on things—that's just how life works—but there's a massive difference between having an opinion and acting like a moderator or an owner... this feels a bit like that old-school pharmacy mentality from back in the day—are we really refusing to host discussions just because they don't align with your specific beliefs? 🙏 😁
Brenda Cook4 said:Why are you talking like that? Are you the owner now, forcing anyone who doesn't fit your "vibe" out into the shadows? What are you trying to say? That this is some closed-off little bubble where if you don't radiate the exact same energy, you aren't "educated"? Does everyone have to march to the same beat like they did back in the old days? Hasn't enough time passed for that? Or is that just too hard for some people to accept?
If people actually care about a topic, why shut it down? If they don't care, the thread just fades away naturally on its own... no need for the heavy hand.
I've started noticing that on threads covering this particular spectrum, posts tend to get wiped if they happen to be a little too "uncomfortable" for the progressive or liberal crowd... now, don't get me wrong—moderating a discussion is one thing, but imposing actual censorship just because a moderator's personal worldview feels slighted is something else entirely... honestly, a moderator like that really ought to just admit it—first to themselves, and then to everyone else—that they're being biased, and maybe step back from moderating those specific topics, or even just hand over the keys to the whole PDF setup...
Looking at the comments, it’s pretty obvious there’s a massive amount of interest in seeing this topic moved over to the PDF politics section... which, obviously, doesn't take away from the fact that the moderators have the law and the final say on how they want to handle the thread...
Edward Cooper11 said:This movie is honestly nothing like the stuff Quentin Tarantino puts out 😁
aha... you've got your criminals, the mafia, heists—but most of the runtime just drifts into these long dialogues where characters overthink everything, focusing on their personal baggage, which eventually drives all their choices and how things wrap up... yeah, it's definitely different, but while Tarantino actually seems to know what he's doing, this one kind of missed the mark...
It feels like a total imitation of Quentin Tarantino—except the script drags and just doesn't land, plus the acting feels way too over-the-top for my taste... honestly, given all the rave reviews from the critics, I’m feeling pretty let down...
Ryan Vaughn7 said:So, where exactly is this happening—all the time, everywhere? Aside from stumbling upon a random post in the vast wilderness of the internet and dropping a quote from a Freudian follower—who, by their own admission, you don't actually get... how does that prove your theory holds any water? What’s actually new here compared to the five other threads already out there discussing basically the same thing? Like, what specific analysis, or study, or whatever, shows that the left is more tied to sex than the right? On what basis? Maybe you can talk some sense into me, because right now, looking at this intro post, it just looks like trolling.
And the rest of the topic—does any of that mean anything to you? ☕
The whole intersection of sex and the Left is such a fascinatingly messy topic... honestly, I don't see why we can't dive into it...
Back in the day, certain leftist theorists viewed traditional morality and marriage as these heavy weights—basically just baggage from a bourgeois, capitalist society—so they figured both those institutions, much like capitalism itself, needed to be completely dismantled and torn down...

And some background on the Frankfurt School: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d4v6CVcHUXY http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S5gm_u4gOng
Freedom only really makes sense when it exists within a framework of liberty—you know, inside a society that actually has its own rules, laws, and a shared sense of morality... otherwise, you aren't looking at freedom, you're just looking at anarchy...
Polybius once pointed out:
You can't call a country democratic if the masses have the right to do whatever they feel like doing and actually intend to follow through... but in places where people traditionally honor the gods, respect their parents, show deference to their elders, and follow the law—those kinds of countries, provided the will of the majority remains supreme, can truly be called democracies.
I was actually thinking about suggesting we don't even bother restoring those posts—it feels kind of pointless at this stage...
Look, there’s a massive difference between being a supporter of "progressive" ideas and actually moderating a space where those very same ideas show their ugliest side... I mean, regardless of how much a mod might personally struggle with it, they have to let the "traditionalists" air their views too... anything else just turns into ideological bullying and straight-up censorship...
That’s exactly what the mainstream media does... they basically admit it at their seminars: why would they give any platform to the "old school" crowd when their views are deemed "unacceptable"? That’s why democracy feels dead in the news lately—because they only ever broadcast one single perspective...
As for that religious instructor, he’s essentially just made up his own version of God to believe in... honestly, this is stuff the church has been teaching since the beginning of time—this might even be one of the earliest religious texts outside of the New Testament:
He’d probably be better off sticking to the original script...

The topic has run its course, so we can just close this down...
Martin Sheen and his grandson Taylor Estevez actually made the trek out to Santiago de Compostela... their son and father, Emilio Estevez, was the one who dreamed up this whole idea to film a pilgrimage...
In the story, Martin plays a father who finds out his son (Emilio) passed away right at the start of the journey... he travels all the way from the States over to France to bring him home, but then he decides to finish the pilgrimage himself—doing it in his son's honor...
Honestly, this movie is such a breath of fresh air—it’s been a long time since I’ve seen anything quite like it... kind of like "Lord of the Rings," if you think about it, but without the Dark Lord, without the rings, without all the mindless action or special effects or fantasy stuff... just a few people with a dusty road under their feet and a real sense of purpose in their hearts...
It’s been ages since I’ve seen Martin Sheen in such a genuinely great role...
Kyle Cruz said:Fincher's version is just superior. You don't even need to be some kind of film critic to see that, do you?
But in what way? Honestly, Craig just doesn't fit that whole exhausted investigative reporter vibe... plus, there’s this total lack of atmosphere and mystery... 🙂
For instance—that black-and-white photo of the missing girl in the original film, you know, like in "Mona Lisa," really does wonders for the mood... whereas in Fincher's? There's nothing...
I guess what's good is that it stays more faithful to the source material, though I wouldn't say that's necessarily an advantage... the original movie cut out the fluff and focused the action right where it mattered most...
Also, the alternative take on Lisbeth is pretty interesting... still, either way, I'm leaning towards Noomi Rapace, even if some people claim she was closer to the book version in Fincher's take...
Oh, and yeah, Fincher's opening sequence isn't bad at all... 🙂
I’m really not a fan of how everyone jumped on my thread like that...
So, it’s been a few days since that whole mess went down, and I still haven't heard back from any of the site admins... what do you guys think the move is here? 🙂
I think the moderators are totally right when they shut down threads like those... you just can't have a coherent conversation once things get moving—it turns into a total chat room way too fast... and honestly, if people just want to chat, there are already plenty of dedicated chat threads on most of the forums...
