Nicole James said:Dear Roger Hughes14,

I just got an infraction on Reddit...

Reason: Insulting other users...
-------

-------

This violation carries a 45-point penalty. You might face restricted access until the term ends. Major offenses don't expire...

Original Post:
I saw this on Reddit... Some people think that if you follow the rules of the religion, everything will be fine. But then you look at how the laws change. Like those recent Criminal Code Amendments. It doesn't feel like things are moving toward justice. Just more confusion. It’s hard to stay certain when the foundation feels shaky...
😂 Quote: old-soul80 said:Yeah, truth hurts. Christians have slaughtered people like nobody else in history. Hundreds of millions killed and tortured, all in the name of a calling... No one has caused more harm to the world than Christianity...

Well, look at that... the Pope right next to the Pope.

😂

Look at the people posting here. Honestly... Christianophobia is a real thing...

All The Best,
Reddit

I don't get what your problem is... 🤷 First, I’ll ease up on the warnings regarding homosexuality... but now you're moving on to questions about Christianophobia?... 😕

User old-soul80 wrote this:

If he had his head on straight—if he were a Christian who actually believed in something more substantial than what he’s clinging to now—none of this would bother him...

I just saw what Roger Hughes14 said on Reddit... honestly, I don't see it that way. It feels like we're missing the bigger picture here. Everyone is reacting so intensely, but maybe we should just take a breath first...

No red cards...

Yeah, truth hurts. Christians have slaughtered people like nobody else in history. Hundreds of millions killed and tortured... all in the name of a calling. No other force in history has caused as much evil in the world as Christianity...

No red cards...

I don't know about all this... just seems like people want to make everything more complicated than it needs to be. There isn't much to say really... turns out some things just are what they are.

It's just historical fact from various sources. If there were trillions of Christians out there, they'd have killed trillions too...

No red cards...

I don't know what to say... just saw the news about the Criminal Code Amendments. It feels like everything is shifting under our feet lately. People are talking on Reddit, but nobody seems to have a clear answer. Just more uncertainty...

...and he doesn't even get flagged for any of this. I know you might privately agree with him, but that isn't a fair position to take, and what he wrote was honestly just disgusting. This isn't how you run a Reddit community...

No, don't you dare try to give me a ban for this post (Reason: Harassing forum members)...

Clearly, the term "Christianophobia" is the trigger word here, and it's eating at you, but that’s not my concern. If you have an issue with Christianophobia, take it up with Wikipedia. While we're being labeled homophobic left and right, the truth is I don't hate anyone—not even people who are gay. But you don't seem to care about that; instead, certain users just get to feast on us like vultures on a carcass.

Moderator Nicole James, please justify why you hold an admin position if you aren't going to objectively moderate this mess. So far, that isn't happening.

Until next time.

First, you’re complaining because I called you out for claiming you can't label homosexuals as sick—and now, you're acting like the victim because you got flagged for implying they suffer from "Christianophobia." Just try to hold back on trying to diagnose everyone you encounter...

Where do you get the right to answer like that? When someone spits on my Religion and my sacred beliefs, and goes out of their way to imply things... I'll call them a Christianophobe because that term exists just as much as homophobia does. I don't see what the issue is.

The fact is, you didn't give him any kind of red card for behaving so primitively.

Secondly, it's just my personal opinion that homosexuality isn't normal. So what?

I see those posts are still flying without any moderation. Honestly, I know the specific mods mentioned aren't ever going to issue a strike—I've seen it happen countless times already—but I guess I'm just hoping someone else steps up to at least flag them as trolling and treats them accordingly.

I have no clue what the criteria are for becoming a moderator, but in this case, the person just doesn't have the competence.

It’s hardly surprising; looking at Reddit, it’s blatantly obvious that insulting Christians—specifically Catholics—is perfectly acceptable here, and this entire thread has made that clear.

Not much happening on Reddit, nothing new from Nicole James... ☕

Nicole James, honestly, I’d be pretty embarrassed if I were in your shoes—doing such a biased, subpar job... you can tell yourself you aren't alone, but trust me, you're definitely among the worst...

The real issue here is how I diagnose other users on Reddit. I didn't ban the person above, nor have I banned anyone else who has voiced theories regarding criminal atheist regimes.

You have every right to think whatever you want, just like everyone else, but if you keep calling people on this site "sick," "disordered," or anything similar, you're going to get a ban.

As far as I'm concerned, this discussion is over.

The real issue here is the diagnosis, honestly. It’s not about whether people have the right to label some specific percentage of Catholics as killers or the greatest evil in history—I mean, I won't even get into the numbers, that's just a rabbit hole.
Ridiculous...

Well, then we are left with the lasting stigma of this forum, where believers are branded as sick or disturbed, while atheists—or even more so, homosexuals—are only permitted to contemplate such matters in silence... 😵 🙂

Please, just show me one single reported post where someone was actually allowed to call believers "sick" or "disturbed" without consequences...

Fair point. I guess nobody actually called them that, but maybe—just maybe—instead of flagging my post for being offensive, this could serve as a sort of blueprint for how we should probably be talking to people like that in the future.

"Homosexuality is easily the biggest evil in modern society today. Though, I suppose they aren't exactly killers since you need balls for that kind of thing, and atheists are technically right there in the mix too..."

Homosexuality is an attribute, whereas Christianity is a belief system. They are not the same thing.

I mean, both terms represent actual groups of people. At the end of the day, attacking someone's identity or their faith is just straight-up disrespect, nothing more, nothing less...

From where I stand, your faith is deeply offensive. So, what happens now?

And honestly, your stance hits just as hard against my own convictions, but I guess the real difference between us is that when you defend what you believe here on Reddit, you’re using tools that aren't even available to me...
But look, let's just move past you and me. You've made your point, and I was really just offering a comparison—it doesn't mean that's actually where I stand. If the admins haven't stepped in to address this, then I assume they don't see anything wrong with it, and I suppose that's the bottom line.

Anyway, that's all I've got to say for this exchange...

Nothing, though if that's how you feel, it just proves you aren't cut out to moderate the Religion sub-forum.

To handle that role, one would need to be someone who prioritizes respect, tolerance, and an understanding of diverse convictions—someone level-headed, rather than someone who gets "deeply offended" by someone else's legitimate faith or worldview.

That is a personal stance you have openly shared, which leads one to wonder why you have volunteered to moderate this section for nearly ten years. Truly, why?🤷

If the goal is the well-being of the users and the health of the Reddit community, based on that comment above, it certainly doesn't look like that's the priority. (Unless I am missing something.)

Article 151.a of the Criminal Code Amendments, titled 'Glorification of fascist, Nazi, and other totalitarian states and ideologies or promotion of racism and xenophobia':
"Anyone who produces, sells, imports, exports, or otherwise makes available to the public via computer systems or any other means—or possesses in large quantities for such purposes—promotional material that glorifies fascist, Nazi, or other totalitarian states, organizations, or ideologies that advocate, promote, or incite hatred, discrimination, or violence against any individual or group based on differences in race, skin color, sex, sexual orientation, national or ethnic origin, religion, political or other beliefs, shall be punished by fine or imprisonment for up to one year."

Or (for those who can't see the trees for the forest):

Article 151.a of the Criminal Code Amendments, titled 'Glorification of ...ideologies or promotion of... xenophobia':
"Anyone who produces, sells, imports, exports, or otherwise makes available to the public via computer systems or any other means—or possesses in large quantities for such purposes—promotional material that glorifies ...ideologies that advocate, promote, or incite hatred, discrimination, or violence against any individual or group based on differences in sexual orientation, ...shall be punished by fine or imprisonment for up to one year."

But, lo and behold—when an ideology that advocates, promotes, or incites hatred, discrimination, or violence against any individual or group based on sexual orientation is rebranded as "Religion" or "faith," then advocating, promoting, or inciting that same hatred, discrimination, or violence becomes protected.

But look at the irony—when an ideology that actively promotes hatred, discrimination, or violence against anyone based on their sexual orientation is rebranded as "Religion" or "Faith," suddenly that same hate speech and incitement becomes legally protected.

Well, if there’s any reasonable suspicion that someone out there is acting like a fanatic or an extremist by pushing that kind of agenda, perhaps it’s worth contacting the police. It should be straightforward enough when you have publicly posted or promoted text from these so-called "fanatics" that points directly to it.

I'm not sure how it works everywhere else, but here in the States, religious or secular fanaticism is taken extremely seriously because we recognize these individuals or groups can be genuinely dangerous to society. In fact, being a "fanatic" is often viewed as a destructive and hazardous psychological trait.

The Bible (fanatics -> Yahweh, Jesus):
Yahweh: "If a man lies with a man as he lies with a woman, both have committed an abominable act. Let them be struck down, and let their blood fall upon them."

Jesus: "Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets. I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them. Truly, I tell you, until heaven and earth pass away, not the smallest letter, not the least stroke of a pen, will pass from the Law until all is accomplished."

I assume you aren't a fanatic, so surely you agree that only a monster could command (and approve) something like that (killing homosexuals)?

Just to remind us:
...organizations or ideologies that advocate for, promote, or incite hatred, discrimination, or violence against any individual or group based on differences in sexual orientation...
