Look, this hits close to home for me given my role here and how I see things. There's one thing I just don't get.

What exactly are you all fighting about? And why? The whole pro-vax versus anti-vax circus.

Honestly, it seems like neither side is playing with a full deck. If I’m worried about getting the shot, I’d actually be out there bugging everyone else to get it just to lower my own chances of catching something.

And I don't get the vaccinated crowd either—why all the preaching and pressure? You got the jab, right? Great. If these people don't want it, they don't want it. They'll build immunity some other way. Worried about hospitals overflowing? That's basically just mass vaccination by another name. It was like the chaos at a huge Black Friday sale downtown. It happens, and then it passes.

The new wave of COVID-19. Boo-hoo. That's just the next wave of building immunity (and natural selection at work). Everyone gets to choose their own path to immunity. And everyone has the right to hope they just dodge the virus entirely.

So, why are you all trying to convert one another?

As an unbiased observer, I’m just looking at who actually contributed here. There are more of you than there is Casey Bennett. And that’s not even counting the guy who asked me the same question four times—asking why his own ego got deleted. 🙂 Like Casey Bennett would say: "Start your own thread, what are you doing crashing our party?" 🙂

You guys are being way too serious and repetitive. This whole thing was settled on page one. If someone's playing dumb (hopefully they aren't actually dumb), then they're just looking for a laugh. Which is clearly what this thread is for.

Of course bluelynx52 is a clone. I can't tell you who's pulling the strings, and honestly, it doesn't matter. More than one person has been using him so far, and that’s how it’ll stay.

Why couldn't some random stranger be a moderator—and a good one at that? You probably realize there's a massive conflict of interest when a regular user jumps into a mod role. Everyone already knows his biases and how skewed his views are. He’s just as predictable in discussions as he is in moderating. A mod like that shouldn't be allowed to both participate and moderate. That's why it's actually great if the new mod is truly a newcomer. Someone without baggage. Or at least, someone you don't know yet. 🙂 And if you eventually figure them out, bluelynx52 will probably have moved on to being someone else by then.

Judging by how fast you jumped to conclusions based on just one neutral post, you're either incredibly perceptive or you just walk into every Reddit thread expecting the worst. I wouldn't call you perceptive, though. You should've known your off-topic post was going to get nuked. That isn't tyranny. It's just the rules.

You've got no reason to assume I won't be an awesome moderator who might actually surprise you. While you're busy holding onto your prejudices, I'll just be focusing on what you actually write moving forward. 🙂
