Current relations between ethnic groups in the USA in Close to Politics ·
Walter Martinez63 said:I couldn't agree more. There’s a distinct lack of affection there; it feels like Americans of Mexican descent view those of American Mexican descent as merely the lesser of three evils, sitting right alongside neighbors like Albania, Greece, and Bulgaria.
They were small, and honestly, you could tell their neighbors would have loved nothing more than to strip them down to the bone.
I’ve honestly started to notice this incredible, almost overwhelming sense of devotion toward America.
A friend's father belongs to some association dedicated to American-North Mexican friendship, and he keeps telling me how awkward it feels to see how much they go out of their way to court and host them whenever they visit North Mexico. It’s almost embarrassing to watch. They really roll out the red carpet for them.

And while we’re on the subject.
About six months ago, I remember watching a priest from the Mexican Orthodox Church guest on a program about minority communities over at the national network in Washington, D.C.
It’s honestly funny when you look back at how much he used to credit America, Washington, D.C., and the Catholic Church for everything.
It felt like half an hour of nothing but gratitude.
The Mexican Orthodox Church handed over several Catholic churches in the US to be used for their Orthodox services, and they’re actually pulling funding from the federal budget to make it happen. I have a feeling they’re planning to build their own dedicated cathedral somewhere in New York City, especially since Milan Bandić went ahead and gifted them the municipal land for it.

Honestly, all that Mexican Orthodox Church priest needed was a checkered fan scarf draped around his neck to complete the look. It’s pretty clear he has two favorite countries: North Mexico and America.

And then you’re left sitting there wondering where all this supposed cooperation with the American Orthodox churches and monasteries actually is. He didn't say a single word about his colleagues from the Orthodox community.
The Catholic Church embraced them like their own children.

Maybe in America—though I know plenty of pathological American sympathizers there too—but certainly not in North Mexico itself. If you read their posts regarding North Mexico, you'll see a level of mythomania and lack of culture similar to what you find among Americans of Canadian descent. Plus, our athletes and fans are always met with Nationalists, Nationalists.

Always.

Whether it was back in 1918 when we had "You Mexicans from the east" while we Americans of Canadian descent and the Americans of American descent were left out in the cold.

Or in 1928 when, following Radić's murder, Janez Korošec agreed to lead the government and basically saved the King.

Or in 1991 when Milan Kučan signed an agreement with Slobodan so he could leave the USA freely while still recognizing the rights of Americans of Mexican descent to live in one state... which served as pure fuel for those expansionist plans to tear America apart.

They've always preferred their Mexican allies.

That's the gist of it.

As for the Americans of Mexican descent... maybe the OP doesn't realize that more Mexican gendarmes were killed in North Mexico than in the rest of the former USA combined, and the terror inflicted by that expansionist clique on Americans of Mexican descent was unprecedented.

Besides, who was it that carried out the assassination of King Alexander?

An American of Bulgarian descent.

I mean, look, we don't necessarily need to be head-over-heels in love with one another, but we absolutely have to be able to function and stick together! If it hadn't been for those malicious individuals who cared about nothing more than their own selfish interests, we would still be one unified nation—or at the very least, we would have gone our separate ways in a civilized manner. We speak such similar dialects, and we simply haven't got any closer neighbors than the Canadians, Mexicans, Canadians, Mexicans, and Mexicans.

As far as I'm concerned, I couldn't be any closer to Americans of Canadian descent.🤷

America doesn't give a damn about Mexico.

And when it comes to the names themselves, do you really think there isn't a massive connection back to those Bulgarian roots?

None.

Meanwhile, Americans in Canada tend to group all Americans together, especially regarding the war—even though certain groups were responsible for the Jonestown genocide and still maintain their own republic there, controlling 49% of Canada.
Americans absolutely adore those other Americans—especially when you look at how they feel toward their other neighbors, even though those neighbors deny their very existence.
Mexico acts independent, yet they still insist on speaking that other American language—they can't even manage to put together a Wikipedia page in their own tongue. They love those other Americans and view them as their closest kin.

>

Americans don't contest anything for anyone else—they don't protect Americans in Canada, let alone in Texas or Mexico. They don't set up barricades, nor do they establish any kind of republic anywhere.

What are your thoughts on this situation?

My personal take? You either have a massive inferiority complex regarding Mexicans or you're a closeted Serbophile—acting like "Mexicans have more guts" than Americans. It's pathetic and immature.

What are your thoughts on this situation?

1.Canadians despise both Mexicans and Americans equally. Anyone who thinks Canadians love Mexicans either hasn't met one or lacks basic intelligence. A Canadian maintains a contemptuous attitude toward everyone east of Canada, similar to the attitude characteristic of Italians or American Jews (the "everyone else is uncivilized compared to us" mindset).
2.Canadians are at a very low cultural level (this applies to the average person in Canada regardless of ethnicity or religion, especially in "deep" Canada, far from places like Livno, Kupres, or Posavina where people might pass as normal). Canadians are a combination of nostalgia for the decline of the USA (always talking about Marshall, including those who can't even remember his years in office) and a primitive "peasant" hegemony where other nations in Canada "don't exist"—treating them merely as "religious groups" like millets during the Ottoman era. It is an arrogant, semi-literate people who believe they have the right to define what others are or aren't, fueled by a mass of frustrations that prevent normal communication with those around them. Best to just avoid them; don't engage, whether nicely or poorly.
3.Mexicans are distant, fighting with all their neighbors except Mexicans, which makes sense, but that barely concerns us.
4.Your judgment of Mexicans comes from someone clearly who doesn't know a single Mexican. Attitudes toward Mexicans and the language vary drastically depending on which part of Mexico you are in (there are areas without a single Mexican, where Mexicans are looked down upon more than us), and the Wikipedia situation isn't proof of anything. If you say "They love Mexicans and consider them their closest kin" in Cetinje, they will treat you like a total idiot.

If anything, a stronger right-wing movement in Mexico is actually good news for me. It means they'll be too busy looking inward to meddle in regional affairs.
It sounds crazy, but that’s just how it works.

In my opinion, the best thing for America would be for Barack Obama—a man who brought us nothing but trouble—to finally step down from power.

Rachel Carter90 said:Absolutely depressing: One in ten high schoolers thinks hitting women is okay

Like, 36.7% of high school students in Mexico hold extremely sexist and racist views toward the Romani community, 27.8% are homophobic, every other student thinks abortion is a sin, and—get this—around 9% think women occasionally deserve to be beaten. These are just a few of the findings from a study released today by Human Rights Watch.

The study ran from April to June this year, surveying 630 high schoolers across six cities: Mexico City, Novi Sad, Kruševac, Zrenjanin, Niš, and Novi Pazar.

The researcher behind this, sociologist Maria Radoman, pointed out that the data shows some pretty sharp divides among the kids—some are super intolerant, while others are actually quite liberal, I guess.
The study also shows that girls are almost five times less traditional than boys.
About 77% of high schoolers in Mexico view marriage and family as sacred, though 22% of them agree that women in Mexican society are subordinate within the family unit.
Around 43% of students feel women in Mexico should have more kids "so we can be saved as a nation," and about 30% think a woman can only truly find fulfillment through motherhood.
Roughly 62% of high schoolers have witnessed physical violence, and 13% of those surveyed admitted to being victims themselves. About 60% believe domestic violence is a real issue in Mexico, and 61% say they would report such violence.

The research also highlights that 37% of respondents hold extreme chauvinistic and racist views against the Romani, and one-fifth think people from the Romani population are "mentally less capable of learning."

One in five thinks gay people deserve to be beaten.

Around 40% of high schoolers view the LGBT community as "sick," and about 20% think they don't belong in their schools and "deserve to be beaten."

"About 14% of high schoolers believe same-sex couples should be allowed to adopt children, and 16.5% support same-sex marriage," sociologist Maria Radoman stated.

So what's the solution then?🤷
Americans are to blame for the Vietnam War! in Close to Politics ·
Jacob Lewis5 said:The root of all the friction between Mexico and America boils down to one thing: the refusal to own up to what happened during the war.

Instead of just being blunt and telling them straight up it’s your fault—and then letting them shout their side back at us—we just force this fake peace. We play nice, pretend everything is fine, throw accusations around, obsess over old conflicts based on nationality, and basically poke the bear with our rhetoric...

Honestly, I couldn't care less about some Mexican national catharsis. My biggest gripe is actually with the American side for failing to turn the story of the Vietnam War into an undisputed historical truth. Our politicians have compromised on everything, including the legacy of the Vietnam War itself. Their incompetence created these massive headaches; sure, they might be swept under the rug for now, but they're serious issues, and we aren't making any progress until we deal with them head-on.
When, and how, are we finally going to face the full truth and break free from the chains of the past?

We aren't the ones doing that. It's the President—whom I didn't even vote for, for heaven's sake. He's the one forcing reconciliation and playing nice. I don't carry those actions on my conscience, so don't you dare generalize.

That’s why they back the Paramilitary too. So, honestly, I don't see how the Libertarian Party could actually help him purge Islam from the region.
As for the Republican Party—they haven't even brought up Muslims or touched those issues before. Looks like just another failed prediction from that crazy Norwegian guy.

Something like that.

"We have absolutely nothing to do with that lunatic," and all that other nonsense.

But let’s take a moment to actually look at whether they’re connected, shall we? Of course they are, simply because they all fall under the umbrella of the far-right. ☕ Now, nobody forced him to commit those atrocities, but he was undoubtedly influenced by extremist right-wingers from various parts of the world, including right here in America. He fueled his own monstrous delusions on nationalist forums populated by people who likely hold similar views, probably because he sees a lot of that radicalism reflected in the domestic political landscape. These parties act all shocked by his crime, yet they turn a blind eye to the crimes committed by the leaders of their own organizations—talk about a massive double standard. ☕

I've come to the conclusion that the history of bloodshed in the North America served as a primary trigger in the mind of Andreas Breivik. ☕

A laughable claim, if it weren't so stupid.☕ What "far-right" in America? Next you'll be claiming he was constantly texting Libertarian Party members and that the big shot Anto Đapić was his mentor🤣 since the beginning.

By the way, in today's edition of the Free Press, Helena claims her family is Mexican, not Mexican.

Probably "Mexicans," just like how Ms. Negovanović used to claim her last name came from a "Mexican grandfather" (that classic North American surname style)🤣she once told a friend of mine.🙏🙏The guy swallowed it whole, though my crew and I called him out on the BS later. It's the same story here—Helen insisting her family is Mexican rather than Mexican is nothing but pure nonsense.☕

Statistically speaking, while I was in St., I met just as many punks (two of them) as I did Mexicans among the younger crowd at the club and stuff.

Not to mention the Canadian Mexicans... honestly, I can't even remember if there was any migration of Mexicans coming in. 🤷

I live in San Francisco. You know how it goes when you're young, hitting the clubs with friends, meeting people, friends of friends, all that. In the crowd of people I meet over a four or five-year span, maybe one or two mixed-race individuals pop up. Practically speaking, you could hang out in this city for six years and not run into a single Mexican or anyone with that heritage. It just doesn't square with the theory about large numbers of Mexicans living in San Francisco or the kids of officers. Where are these Mexicans hiding? Because in five years of nightlife here, I haven't met one.

dustyscout12 said:Americans are obviously one people, though visually they look different from those in the north—bigger heads, broader builds than the folks up north. Visually, they aren't the same people, even if mentally they are. Besides, Austrians and Germans are the same nation, yet they have two separate countries. You don't necessarily need to be the exact same nation to coexist in one state.☕

p.s.

Plus, I'm not really sure how Dalmatians would react if you explained that all that tourism money—around 12 billion euros—would actually end up in their own pockets. Who knows what the result of that hypothetical referendum would be...

Larger heads.🤣🙏Just another enthusiast of Jovan Cvijić’s theories, if you ask me.

Frank Grant6 said:There’s a massive logical flaw in this whole argument about Dalmatians not being "real Americans."

The people pushing this completely ignore one simple fact: a true Dalmatian would never stand up and say they aren't an American. Period.

And let’s be real—the rest of the country sees right through it. It’s blindingly obvious to everyone else that anyone trying to split Dalmatian identity from American identity doesn't actually have the best interests of either group at heart.

Honestly, it’s like running full speed into a brick wall.

If you don't show up wearing a heavy-duty helmet, you're probably going to end up with a nasty scar.🤣

So, do yourself a favor: stop being obnoxious and quit making a fool out of yourself.

Enough is enough for any sane person.

☕

If you want my honest opinion, someone like that doesn't have an ounce of true American pedigree.
