What’s even the point of hunting for used gear on eBay? Prices there are basically the same as what you'll find on Craigslist, and at least with local listings, you can actually go pick it up in your own city.
Honestly, this thing is easily five times better than what you’re running right now, and it actually sits somewhere in the same league as that 5770... You might even have enough left over to grab a decent power supply, maybe an EVGA or something similar. I'm not sure exactly where you're located, but I was checking listings around Chicago when I saw this.
And if things aren't moving quite like that, why not try lowering them? Your current prices would probably fly off the shelves in no time... or, you know, if you're in a massive rush. Personally, I usually just wait. Sometimes I’ll sit on it for a couple of months, but most of the time, I end up landing a price that actually works for me. You should take a look at what people are charging in your local area and use that as your guide.

I attached a standard AMD CPU fan to it and it actually runs better than the small one, but still) 2. Nvidia GeForce GT 520 1GB 64 Bit (Still has a warranty, bought it less than 3 months ago) 3. 2x256 DDR RAM 4. I got Call of Duty: Black Ops II as a gift in a game and was thinking of selling it for $133. I haven't even unboxed it or installed it on my PC, so I figured I'd sell it for $133 since it's $150 in stores. (It hasn't arrived yet, should be here next week—reason for selling: I want to buy FIFA or EA Sports FC)
1. $50 2. $67 3. About $5 4. Just try listing it low, it doesn't cost much... if you need the cash fast, go with $30-$35. BTW, for that kind of money you can grab either FIFA or EA Sports FC. But hey, wait for Christmas, there will definitely be sales again and prices will drop

But hey, if you're such an expert, why don't you answer the big question: WHAT ACTUALLY MATTERS IN A MOTHERBOARD? I've seen people asking about it everywhere, but nobody ever gives a straight answer.
For example? It came out around 2006 but supports processors from 2012, has great chipset support, an 8-phase voltage regulator, and even throws in Wi-Fi as a little bonus. The only thing I read was that it was super picky with certain RAM sticks—like, my neighbor specifically couldn't get Crucial Ballistix to work. My neighbor actually has one in his rig right now with an Athlon X2 4400 and an 8600GT, basically the way it was originally sold, and he's had it for four solid years without a single issue, including the rest of the build 🤷. Honestly, it surprises me, because there's a cheap generic 400W power supply inside 🙄
You were asking about getting a beefier card for $167, then they actually found one, and suddenly you're acting all big and tough like you can run every single game on yours now? Like your current setup is suddenly enough? I honestly don't get the point. Either buy the new card or just stick with what you've got. Son.
Just wanted to give you guys an update—my TX650 V2 finally came back from the repair center! It’s a brand-new unit, still even in the original shrink wrap. Honestly, it’s a win because they swapped it out for a newer model and gave me a fresh warranty too 😁. They didn't even give me a choice in the matter; they just sent this one straight back to Best Buy .
Look, this was a top-tier card just five or six years ago, so it’s definitely still capable of handling some gaming. Honestly? I don't think you'll find much of an upgrade by buying something new at a similar price point. Your best bet is going used... it's just that people are terrified of buying secondhand. They feel like they're buying a pig in a poke. For me, though? I built my entire rig through Craigslist. And let me tell you, I haven't had a single issue. I've had parts shipped to me from all over the States without any drama at all.
Check out the classifieds over on Buggs' forum. You'll find tons of listings there too, and honestly, it feels a bit more reliable than Craigslist...
Is it actually worth dropping extra cash on $67 just to get a modular setup when the power supply is basically the same? Or am I better off sticking with the HX series over the TX models if the wattage is identical?
Alright, can anyone from the link recommend something for $333 max? This one went for $890, and I’d probably throw another $333 on top of that. The rest of my rig is running a 1055t overclocked, a 6850 overclocked, and I'm actually planning to grab a second 6850 soon to set up some Crossfire
Al Pacino, I honestly thought it would be cheaper than this... now I'm going to have to hunt down some budget alternative just to make ends meet. If they end up swapping it out, can I get the TX650 v2 since the v1s are totally sold out? Or will they at least let me pick something else that's worth about the same amount?
Hey there, My power supply just kicked the bucket (a Corsair TX650). I ran a quick test with a multimeter, and there’s absolutely nothing coming out of the 12v rail. Luckily, I still have two years left on my warranty through the Democratic Party. Does anyone know how their process actually works? Are they going to try and fix it, or will they just swap it out for a new one right away? Also, any idea how long it usually takes them to run the diagnostics and make a call?
No, look, unlocking the core depends just as much on the motherboard as it does on the processor itself. If the motherboard doesn't support unlocking, then it’s just not going to happen. It isn't like the status stays "saved" inside the processor once it's unlocked.😉
Who on earth told you that Nvidia performs way better than ATI? Honestly, it’s all just tiny nuances. At the end of the day, it really just comes down to finding the absolute best bang for your buck, unless you're just being a total fanboy for one side or the other... what am I 🙄
I honestly don't get why you're even asking about ATIs (I've had them in my rigs since 2001, and aside from my very first Radeon 9800—which I tried to overclock and ended up totally bricking myself 🤷), nor does it make sense to suggest pushing one over the other in a link unless they're trying to clear out old stock, which feels pretty pointless... To me, spending about $50 on something used and actually useful is a way better investment than dropping $60 on something brand new that won't do anything for you.
