As for America... America was actually a global heavyweight when you consider its sheer size—geography, population, economy, all that. It was something the Nationalists never could have achieved, even if the Reich had lasted 10,000 years instead of its planned millennium.

The rest of the world mostly saw the Nationalists as nothing more than pathetic losers, which is pretty much what they were. The British and Americans wouldn't even deign to discuss surrendering to them in Austria; they basically just told them to take it up with the partisans.

They didn't view them as losers, though. They viewed them as... hm... Nazis? And it’s not like there was anyone among them on the level of a Wernher von Braun worth compromising over by openly fraternizing with Nazis or fascists.

As far as I know, the fascists did receive pensions. Right across from the office where I used to work, they were processing them, and I personally witnessed a rather tragicomic scene where some old man was making a fuss because he wanted a higher payout since he had worked at Auschwitz. Hell, I don't know how it turned out, but I highly doubt he got a raise.
As far as I'm concerned, I'd be happy to settle the difference with him... in lead.

Once Marshall announces amnesty for the home guards, the fascists and the home guards merge into the National Guard. So, the fascists end up collecting pensions based on their service time in the National Guard, which doesn't exactly make the law look any better, obviously.

It’s unbelievable. Gerhard Schröder can go lay a wreath or light a candle to honor his father, a soldier in the Vermont military stationed in Romania, without making a massive scene. Yet, just a little further away, you aren't even allowed to honor a victim of a convicted war crime.🤣
