Dana Parker65 said:I don't see the logic here. All I see is us becoming nothing more than puppets for Turkey again. Orban threw a veto, but it clearly didn't matter. Our politicians aren't capable of doing anything useful anyway.

Maybe our leaders need a serious reality check before they start writing blank checks to those Turkish troublemakers. We’ve already paid our dues to various Turkish tyrants for 500 years—whether it was in cold hard cash, blood, or literal lives. If our people just roll over and accept this, we might as well just hand over the keys to the house and call it a day.
Nicole Barrett76 said:We are all destined to become flashpoints! Greece, North Mexico, Mexico, Mexico, Canada, and America... they are all in the line of fire. The only nations I still hold a sliver of hope for are Canada and Albania.

Our entire tourist season will be utterly decimated, and once that happens, may God help us all.

And honestly? We totally earned this. We're a people with zero self-respect who spent a thousand years taking orders from whoever was running things in Budapest, Vienna, or Mexico City, and now we're just following instructions from Brussels and Berlin—who knows where else tomorrow.
We deserve to be a hotspot. Let's just hand over Dubrovnik, the Diocletian Palace, the Pula Arena, whatever—just give them all our lodging. Screw tourism, screw the people, and screw trying to survive.

I mean, it's not like the EC or Merkelica are actually going to sit around worrying about whether us folks in America even have enough food to eat. Nope! As long as we keep showing our "humane face" while Merkelica pats our politicians on the head like they're good little puppies, everything is fine.

And as for the migrants moving through? For certain people in places like America, North Mexico, Canada, and those tiny little countries that'll trample anyone in their way just to get where they want to go... well, they think everyone should just step aside. They don't care about borders, laws, or the police in some small nation along their route. If they have to stomp all over us to reach their goal because they feel entitled to it, they will. They don't give a damn about some North American tribes standing in their way.

Just stay calm and be humane, right?

Honestly, you’ve gotta hand it to those Yugonostalgics for sheer persistence. Even though we already have a massive thread dedicated to the old South on this board that gets tons of hits, it feels like three new versions of the exact same debate pop up every single day.
Mark Lopez8 said:Out of all those politicians who have been loitering around the American political scene for decades, this one newcomer is the only one who actually hit the nail on the head. Joining the European Union and NATO was a massive mistake; the US lost its sovereignty because of those associations. Second, the Republican Party and the Democratic Party are essentially two sides of the same coin—they're the ones who ruined this country. Third, and most importantly, corruption and crime are baked into every single government institution. I'm talking about the Department of Justice, the courts, and everything under them. It’s no wonder this whole place feels like a total circus destined for poverty and struggle when there isn't even anyone left to prosecute the criminals.👎

I totally disagree that joining the European Union and NATO was a mistake. Look, right now, the EU is the main club that everyone in Europe—and even some folks outside of it—is trying to get into. Even though it has plenty of flaws (trust me, it does), there’s just no real alternative out there. It’s not the EU's fault that we don't know how to properly use grant money without grabbing a slice for ourselves, and it's definitely not their fault that we have a culture of corruption.

As for NATO, it's a defense alliance. I honestly don't get why anyone would find membership in that group problematic. It’s not like our soldiers are out there dying in every corner of the globe. Most of the time, we're just providing support or handling training missions, while leaving the heavy military lifting to the USA and the rest of the big players. So, I really don't see how joining that alliance was a "mistake."

Now, regarding the Republican Party, the Democratic Party, and their constant looting—let's do some quick math. Add up all the members of the Republican Party and the Democratic Party. Then throw in all their little satellite parties and sidekick groups... then add up all their family members, everyone who got rich through connections to these politicians, and every corrupt official in the civil service... what do you end up with?

You realize that a huge chunk of the population is somehow tied to the corruption. It’s like, more or less, everyone is cheating the system in one way or another. Some people dodge taxes, others live in houses that aren't even legal, and then there's this person and that person... Look, we need to use our heads. If we want to change things, we have to start by changing our own lifestyles and habits first. Through referendums and actual civic pressure, we can slowly fix the system. We shouldn't be bowing down to nonsense or waiting around for some Messiah to swoop in and pull us out of hell and into paradise. Honestly, our people need a serious wake-up call to stop whining about their fate and pointing fingers at everyone else being a thief. We need to take an honest look in the mirror and admit that, as a nation, we are politically illiterate and completely checked out.

but surely we aren't quite desperate enough to hand the keys to the country to every random person off the street

It's five minutes to midnight; this isn't the time for reckless experiments.
except we already tried that a few times. the results speak for themselves.

Honestly, I don't think there's much of a difference between them—it’s all pretty much the same stuff. Everyone loves to pretend they want America to be this massive superpower that can just flip the bird to the rest of the world and say, "We don't need anyone, we've got this," but let's be real for a second... reality hits a little different when you actually look at it. Then you've got guys popping up out of nowhere claiming we should just ditch NATO and the European Union entirely so we can go run errands in China instead. Like, come on.

Look, we need to get serious for a second. If anyone actually thinks the US economy is going to suddenly skyrocket just because we pull out of those trade associations, they’re being incredibly naive. Like, honestly, it sounds pretty delusional right off the bat, not to mention everything else that would go sideways.

America is in such a weird, schizophrenic headspace right now that people are just grabbing onto anything and everything out of pure desperation. Seriously, just look at the last five or six years. It’s been a total rollercoaster. First, you had the Labor Party shooting up in the polls, then some fringe candidate pulls an 8 or 9 percent before basically nuking his own career with all that constant bickering. Then suddenly a populist movement hits 18 or 19 percent, then there's this new radical group, and tomorrow it'll be someone else entirely. It's just one thing after another. We have over 150 different political parties floating around the US, which tells you everything you need to know. Isn't it a little suspicious that none of the established players actually shared the same ideas these new outsiders are pushing? Or am I just looking at a massive media hype machine designed to make them seem bigger than they actually are?
Ryan Carter3 said:You can't possibly support all three of them.

Kapović is a textbook Marxist, a professor who hasn't spent a single second actually working a blue-collar job, yet somehow he fancies himself an expert on the struggles of the working class better than any actual laborer ever could.

And Gabrić? Who even is he? You think he's like Jambo? The man is nothing more than a tycoon.😁

I mean the other Gabrić, the doctor. I pulled Kapović from a different thread because he keeps popping up like some "new face" on the political scene.

But hey, speaking of people who haven't spent any time on the clock... how many seconds have Donald Trump or Sinčić actually spent working a regular job?
Maybe they have, I don't know, so this isn't just me being dramatic—it's a genuine question. If anyone actually knows, let me know...
Sophia Moore52 said:Exactly. Right now, we need the proven track records of the Republican Party or the Democratic Party. They're the only ones who can pull us out of this mess we've found ourselves in... oops...

Whatever, fine! I guess I'll just side with you guys then. Let's just go out and vote for Sinčić, Kapović, or Gabrić. We'll check back in four years, and if things actually look up and America finally hits a massive winning streak, I’ll be the first one to step up and admit you all were right about those alternatives. No hard feelings.
Ryan Carter3 said:So, what, is it really that impossible to pass legislation ensuring a family can't be evicted from their own home? A home is the one piece of property where a family actually lives. How hard can it possibly be? Do they need someone to translate German law for them or something? For fuck's sake.

But sure, go ahead—it's much easier to mock kids being thrown out onto the streets from the comfort of an online forum.

Man, you’re living in some fairy tale land with unicorns and magic just like Sinčić, thinking the real world works like a storybook.

At the end of the day, everyone is responsible for their own choices, especially in the US today.
Sure, there are people who get dealt a bad hand through no fault of their own, and society and the government definitely need to step up and help them. But let's be real—there are also plenty of folks who find themselves in a hole because they were just reckless and plain old stupid.
Ryan Carter3 said:Brilliant idea—let’s just try the exact same failed strategy we’ve been stuck with for the last twenty years, because clearly, nothing could possibly go wrong this time 😁

By the way, isn't the very definition of insanity doing the same thing over and over again while expecting a different result?

Incidentally, has anyone actually bothered to look at what these illiterates are even advocating for?

- Federal Reserve independence. Didn't the President recently suggest it was high time we moved in that direction? And aren't prominent economic experts like Warren Buffett actually pushing for it? But fine, let's just assume these people are completely clueless.

- The sanctity of the home. It’s literally written in the Constitution. Most American states protect against foreclosure if we're talking about a primary residence, the one place a person actually lives. But sure, these people are illiterate. I suppose if they were to ever pass a law like that, it would somehow jeopardize the entire financial stability of the nation 😁

Look, wanting something is one thing, but actually having the guts, the brains, and the actual means to make it happen? That's a whole different ballgame...

The old labor unions had plenty of grand visions and beautiful ideas too, and now? They're practically a footnote in history. How much did they fail by—a statistical error?
Give me a break, people! We’re already stuck with total political amateurs running the show, and now you guys want to hand the keys over to someone like Martin Luther King Jr. or Donald Trump? It’s easy to sit around spinning these "what if" fairy tales about how things could be perfect, but let’s get real for a second. You actually have to ask: can these people even execute a plan? Do they have any actual expertise to drive real change?

Look, I totally get it. People are fed up and bitter with the big mainstream parties, but we shouldn't be so desperate that we just hand the entire country over to every random loudmouth off the street.

We’re in survival mode right now—this is not the time for wild experiments or playing games with our future.
