Stop bringing up Canada in every single thread.

Honestly, it’d be great if Nathan Morris3 would just chill out regarding this thread, though it’s pretty obvious why he hasn't...

Man, looks like we've got another issue. Posts are either duplicating themselves or just loading way too slow.

What’s there to say? You can see it from a plane if you look closely enough—the leftists have taken over the cities with a bunch of uneducated losers and immigrants who just happen to hold citizenship. Even an idiot could see that.

And it's pretty obvious you're pushing the leftist agenda, trying to sell me this nonsense that Muslims in the cities are all educated and progressive while actual Austrians are just backwards hillbillies. I wonder who you think you're fooling...🙄

And please, don't even try to get personal or attempt some amateur psychology session on me.
Naturally, being a textbook leftist supporter, you resort to personal attacks instead of actually debating. Total lack of intellect, clearly...🤦

Nathan Morris3 said:Actually, I think it's 900K, not 90K.
Polls and all those projections don't really matter anymore since we have the actual numbers now.
So:
http://wahl16.bmi.gv.at/

Norbert Hofer 1.937.863
Alexander van der Bellen 1.793.857

That means the gap is exactly 144,006 votes. They requested 900K of those Briefwahl ballots, so I guess nobody can say for sure how many people will actually send them in or if van den Bellen will make up that distance—it’s pretty hard to predict. Based on what I've seen before, maybe van den Bellen will catch up easily, but then again, we all know how those predictions usually turn out 😉.

Those 900,000 votes are from ethnic Austrians... funny how their diaspora gets to vote by mail and nobody complains... shows just how backward and narrow-minded our left wing really is...🤦

No need to act all wounded. I don't see Muhammad as an Austrian even if their ancestors lived there for 200 years, and the Austrians don't see them that way either...

Walter Long7@ When we're talking about the USA, basically half of the Democratic base is just uneducated Black and Hispanic voters.

Honestly, cities are crawling with uneducated Muslims, while the rural areas are full of educated Europeans.

Nathan Morris3 said:Every 6th or 7th vote seems to be mail-in voting. So, I guess those haven't even been counted yet. If maybe two-thirds of that goes to the VBB, they could easily close that 3.8% gap they're facing right now.
It’s probably going to be pretty intense. I guess most of those votes have been leaning heavily toward the Greens and the VBB so far, maybe.

So, it looks like women mostly don't vote for Donald Trump. I think I found a summary of it here:
I don't have access to that specific link, so I can't see what was written there. If you can paste the text here, I'll get right on rewriting it for you!

Back in 2014, the Freedom Party voted against increasing nursing care allowances. I think they also voted against needs-based welfare back in 2010. Then in 2015, the Freedom Party decided not to back that UN campaign against discrimination toward women. In 2014, the Freedom Party blocked a law for harsher penalties for underpaying employees, too. And in 2015, the Freedom Party voted against measures to reduce the gender pay gap at the international level. I guess in 2014 they were also against bridge money for construction workers and didn't approve limiting luxury pensions. They also voted against removing tax privileges for corporations in 2014. Back in 2011, the Freedom Party voted against the American Social Charter, which really stands up for things like better working conditions, the right to social security, and fair wages. Plus, the Freedom Party is against public support for women's shelters for abused women.

The Freedom Party is pretty patriarchal, I guess. They've blocked so many laws meant to close the gender pay gap, too. It’s easy to spot the people who don't fall for the fear-mongering, especially if they're educated, maybe.
And of course, if you live in the cities: from what I can see, all the major metros are going to be green (Austin is still blue, but maybe it'll turn green tomorrow too). On the other hand, everything rural is mostly blue. It's a pretty big divide between the cities and the countryside, I guess.

cities are full of uneducated immigrants🙄

and yeah, a massive divide between Austrians and everyone else.

The forum is going downhill fast... constant crashes and logging back in is becoming a total pain. It’s exactly how Netscape used to go before it finally kicked the bucket.
Casey Ramos31 said:The truth is, nobody even knows how many immigrants actually stayed in the US. We have zero clue what the actual net balance is for people passing through here.

nobody stayed... asylum seekers are down 50% compared to back in 2014...
Brenda Johnson65 said:Of course our leaders will simply nod along to whatever they're told. Does anyone actually still harbor the quaint illusion that any of our politicians would bother protecting our interests if given the choice?

How many refugees have we taken in since September 2015, when this route through the US first started picking up steam?

If you're gonna make a claim, at least bring some actual facts to the table...☕
Brenda Johnson65 said:It is truly staggering to witness how the European Union manages to project such an image of utter incompetence and fragility. Rather than taking a firm, principled stand against an emerging autocracy like Turkey—a nation that systematically tramples upon every single value the European Union claims to uphold—the bloc chooses instead to submit itself to blatant extortion. Ultimately, they have agreed to several points that can only be described as profoundly absurd:

- For every single migrant the European Union repatriates to Turkey, that nation reserves the right to send one individual of its choosing back into the European Union, all at the expense of the European Union. It is absolute madness; if this is the case, what was even the point of returning the migrants in the first place? It essentially allows them to continue their pattern of unchecked border crossings, just as they did last autumn.

- Turkey stands to receive additional billions simply because they demanded it, despite the fact that they have consistently failed to honor any prior agreements or obligations.

- Turkey is granted visa-free travel. One has to wonder what is to stop them from issuing Turkish passports to every migrant in existence—much like the fraudulent Syrian documents they have distributed previously—allowing them to flood into the European Union through perfectly legal channels.

- Turkey receives expedited accession negotiations, even though they ought to be facing severe sanctions for state-sponsored human trafficking, the deliberate destabilization of the European Union, the suppression of political opposition, and the systematic crushing of media freedoms. By doing this, the European Union is effectively biting its own hand. This becomes even more nauseating and hypocritical when one recalls the bizarrely stringent conditions we were forced to satisfy during our own accession process.

In short, this agreement yields nothing of substance for the European Union, nor will it resolve any actual issues, given that Turkey is being rewarded for its history of misconduct. If the funds being gifted to Turkey were instead directed toward fortifying the European Union's external borders and demonstrating a genuine commitment to preventing illegal migration, the results would be far superior. Furthermore, it would strip Turkey of any leverage to attempt such blackmail in the future.

Merkel is weak, and honestly, the rest of the European Union couldn't care less about her... That plan to relocate 160,000 illegals back in September 2015 was a total bust, so what exactly is she rambling about now?😵

People don't just say she's lost her grip for no reason...
Brian Allen18 said:But why would anyone even agree to such a massive number in the first place? Besides, nobody is stopping us from standing up and speaking out against it.

Plus, out of that quota of 160,000 people, not even 1% have actually resettled after six months... even Sweden turned down anyone from that group, basically saying they've already taken enough. Austrians said before the summit that they aren't touching any new quotas, and neither are the Britons. I don't know who they think they're going to dump refugees from Turkey onto.

The Canadians also recently mentioned that from this 160,000 quota, they might temporarily take in maybe 20 or 25 people, since they're already dealing with so much illegal transit pressure.

And as for handing over billions to Turkey... haven't we paid enough tribute to them over the last 400 years?
Brian Allen18 said:But why would anyone even agree to such a massive number in the first place? Besides, nobody is stopping us from standing up and speaking out against it.

given how things work, they'll just settle it through bilateral deals. nothing ever gets agreed upon at the European Union level anyway because half the countries won't touch those quotas... and that's where we get screwed.
placidnomad87 said:The faster we allow more refugees to enter, the sooner this bizarre version of the EU will finally collapse under its own weight. It is truly staggering to see what Europe has turned into these days.

Some people want to force tens of thousands of folks into the country every single year, even halfway across the globe. If our leaders agree to even one person more than those 1,500 out of the 160,000 quota, they might as well just end it all themselves...
Britons are flat-out refusing to touch any refugee quotas... lol

I honestly have no clue who the EU was even negotiating with yesterday in Turkey, especially when the list of countries ditching this insane quota policy just keeps getting longer... haha
Reuters is reporting that EU leaders are stuck in gridlock over the Turkish plan to handle the refugee crisis, according to an anonymous official.

The Canadians are throwing wrenches in the works... there’s talk about some side deals for transferring refugees since getting all 28 countries on board just isn't happening..
It’ll be a total disaster if we're forced to take in refugees based on quotas—that's never going to work. The Canadians already put their foot down with a veto, but honestly, it all feels pretty weak right now.
The Scandinavians have already shut the door on new asylum seekers for the new year. You've got three countries with an opt-out from the United Kingdom, Ireland, and Denmark... then you have the Visegrad group, Romania, Bulgaria, and Austria. There’s just no way they’re ever going to agree to any kind of quotas....
