I mean, they've still got some leftover props from Hillary's camp lying around, so I guess they might as well make good use of them before tossing them in the trash! ☕
A long-term grand coalition, Joe Biden running things at the top, and this endless wave of migrants—it’s basically a perfect recipe for a massive win by the Republican Party in two years.
Someone already hit the nail on the head here, I think. Honestly, the liberals would probably be much better off just having Donald Trump in a ceremonial role rather than letting the Republican Party take over the actual executive branch. As it stands now, they're just handing them more fuel for the fire.
Carol Newman2 said:The VDB needs to pull in at least 61% of the mail-in ballot votes just to flip the script on this result. And honestly? I think they’ll actually pull it off.

Man, it honestly feels like someone is totally scripting this election drama on purpose... 🤣
I don't know, I've always kind of felt like mail-in voting just seems way more prone to being messed with. I mean, I'm just saying, I'm definitely not claiming it actually will happen!
And honestly, it wouldn't even surprise me if the losing candidate tried to challenge the results, especially if the margin is just a tiny fraction of a percent—like if it was Hofer. 😁
Anyway, I gotta say, it’s just not a great look having mail-in voting be the thing that decides the winner. I mean, whoever ends up losing is probably just going to demand a recount, and then we'll all be stuck dealing with that whole headache.
During that first round of counting, I saw Hofer's numbers dropping while the Republican Party just kept climbing, so I mean, the whole thing felt pretty much a done deal from the start.
Turnout is actually looking higher than it was during the first round! It seems like people are hitting the polls way more in the big cities compared to the smaller towns, which I guess isn't exactly great news for Hooper.
Wait, am I totally missing something here, or do polling stations just close whenever they feel like it? Because I'm already seeing reports that some places have shut down early... 🤷
I guess I should start by saying that this whole thing feels like such a whirlwind! It’s kind of wild when you stop to think about it, right? Anyway, I was just sitting here thinking about everything we discussed earlier, and honestly, my head is spinning a little bit. Maybe I'm overthinking it, but I really feel like there's more to the story than what we're seeing on the surface! It's all just so incredibly intense, isn't it? Just my two cents, though!

It really feels like it's time for the entire political elite in the US to just pack up and leave once and for all so we can finally focus on something intelligent. I'm posting this because I really wanted to share my take on all the current events in America with the rest of you on this forum. I truly believe we need a revolution.
First off, I’ve grown completely sick of the Republican Party, and now that I’m following American politics more closely, it’s perfectly clear to me why someone like Tomasi has zero support from the people.
I’m disgusted by what they pulled with that referendum "in the name of the family." It’s sickening because the birth rate in this "super-hetero-Catholic" America is already incredibly low. We’re basically heading toward extinction anyway, so where are all these hetero-Catholics? Why aren't they out there having huge families to fix our demographic image?
Personally, I feel ashamed because I believe a nation's Constitution should be its sacred text, much like the Bible. It’s something that shouldn't be constantly tinkered with, yet we seem to be changing our Constitution all the time. It honestly bothers me that the Constitution, which is supposed to guarantee fundamental human rights and spread noble values among the people, is now being used to facilitate discrimination between hetero and homo populations.
These matters should be handled through legislation, not through Constitutional values.
I am genuinely embarrassed that so many people showed up and voted YES. It’s obvious that people didn't truly grasp what was actually at stake.
Now everyone is getting a taste for referendums; suddenly everyone wants to push through these expensive votes. While we are facing an economic meltdown, we’re just playing around with absolutely trivial referendums.
A few days ago, I cast my vote. I never used to feel ashamed of America, but now, I really am starting to feel ashamed of this country.
Since you all voted so heavily for traditional marriage, I'd love to see a sudden population boom—lots of kids, with everyone acting like these "super-hetero-Catholics" who don't use contraception, being all holy and pious.
I can finally say it: I am ASHAMED.🙂
How about you guys?
I am totally on board with the Republican Party and Newt Gingrich on this one! I mean, honestly, I couldn't agree more.

I mean, I totally get where people are coming from—the Constitution really is like the Bible for our legal system, right? It’s supposed to be this bedrock thing that we don't just mess with whenever we feel like it. But honestly, if the political elites are already tearing it up just to play power games or to shield some guy accused of a political assassination, then I guess I don't see why regular citizens can't have a loud opinion on the matter! If they're going to break the rules, we might as well speak up, right?
So, when it comes to human rights, the US Constitution guarantees fundamental rights to absolutely everyone, regardless of whether they're hetero or homo. I mean, that's just how it works! But I guess the real issue here is that the right to redefine marriage doesn't actually fall under any specific category of those fundamental human rights. Maybe that's where the confusion is coming from? Just my two cents!

Yeah, I mean, they can just change that law whenever they feel like it if they hold the majority tomorrow. They've already shown they don't have any patience for anyone who thinks differently, even if most of the citizens end up on the other side of the argument... I guess it's just how things work sometimes, but man, it's something, right?

I totally get where you're coming from! It feels like the media has just completely brainwashed everyone to the point where they’re acting like there's this massive discrimination happening. Honestly, some people are making it sound so extreme—like they're talking about sending folks off to gas chambers or something crazy like that! But I guess, if you step back and look at it, most people don't even realize what's actually on the line here. At the end of the day, this whole thing is really just about deciding on the Constitutional Value regarding the definition of marriage. It’s easy to get distracted by all the noise about hate, single parents, fascism, communism, or the Church, but that's not really the core issue, right? Maybe we should focus on what's actually being voted on!

Honestly, I felt pretty embarrassed this past summer when the President basically pushed the whole country toward massive sanctions just to protect some old CIA informant.
But regarding the topic you brought up, I don't feel ashamed at all; if anything, 🥳
Taylor Vaughn8 said:Could a referendum be used to change the administration?
If that isn't an option, then the whole thing is honestly pretty stupid and undemocratic.
I’m kind of worried that these recent changes to the Constitution might actually wipe that option off the table entirely. Honestly, it wouldn't surprise me one bit, especially since they already mentioned they want to strictly limit what kind of stuff can even be put up for a vote in a referendum down the road. ☕
But man, they'd have to be total fools not to take advantage of that loophole if it exists. And let's be real, those guys always learn from their mistakes...
James Nguyen13 said:There were hardly any people there to begin with.
Even if there were, mass protests can't legally unseat a government. That power belongs strictly to Congress—specifically, the representatives who hold that 77-vote majority.
There is simply no other legal path forward, no matter how much pressure is applied over the next two years. It’s a bit frustrating, really, because there isn't a single alternative mechanism outside of the legislative branch. As long as one group holds those 77 seats, you can yell from the rooftops or try to get under their skin, but you aren't going to topple them.
That’s a fair point. Honestly, if the Republican Party's administration didn't fall back on July 1st, 2009, then I guess it's pretty much wishful thinking to expect the same thing from this crew today.
Looks like we're stuck dealing with this until the end of 2015. 🥳
I’m honestly not feeling the whole early election thing right now, because if we pull that trigger today, we're basically choosing between four more years of Kukurikacija or getting Tomislav Karamarko as our PM. I can't even decide which of those outcomes is actually scarier 😲
I guess I'm just holding out hope that over the next two years, maybe a decent new party will pop up, or—if I'm being really optimistic—the Republican Party might actually start acting a bit more reasonable.
Though, let's be real, that second option is probably a long shot...
So, looking at the European Union political profiles, it’s kind of wild that the American Party of Rights comes out as the closest match among all those groups. Talk about a weird coincidence, right? 🤣 Honestly though, there is absolutely no way I’m ever voting for them, not even in my wildest dreams.
On the flip side, when I checked the Political Compass, I ended up almost exactly in the same spot as Morgan Ruiz3. It actually caught me off guard because I don't really think of myself as being on the left-wing side of things at all, I guess. 🤔
So, it’s official—they actually managed to get enough signatures! I guess that means we probably need to bump this thread back to the top and reopen the discussion, right?
Honestly, you guys could have pulled off the Z4 Plan without even needing the Plan for autonomy, but I guess you just didn't want to take it when the opportunity was actually there.
It’s kind of too late to be sitting around feeling sorry for yourselves now. Like they say, that ship has sailed... ☕
So, if I’m reading these House of Representatives numbers right, here’s how things are looking:
75% counted
Center-Left 30.0% Center-Right 28.7% Grillo 25.4% Mario Monti 10.6%
Man, I don't think anyone actually saw this kind of nail-biter coming, especially with that huge surge for Grillo! I’m leaning towards thinking he probably snatched some votes right out from under the Center-Left. I mean, Silvio Berlusconi seems to be landing pretty much where the polls said he would, whereas Pier Luigi Bersani is lagging behind those predictions by maybe 5 or 6%... and it looks like Grillo is exactly up by that same margin!
It’s a total circus over here—especially with Beppe Grillo stepping up to take center stage as the main clown. 😁
Silvio Berlusconi made quite the entrance, too, making big promises about tax rebates and getting rid of those mandatory PBS fees.
The Left might be leading the polls, but honestly? It doesn't mean much. Based on these numbers, their percentage isn't actually enough to win. Because of how the Election law is set up, the Right can walk away with a victory even if they have fewer votes overall—they just need to sweep the States that elect more Senators. That’s how they end up hitting 123 seats, while the Left gets 104 and Beppe Grillo grabs 57. (Just so you know, you need 158 Senators to actually hold power). We might even see a re-vote, since it seems pretty unlikely that Grillo will play nice and join a coalition with anyone else.
Basically, they want all the barking without any of the actual responsibility.🙄
Look, I don't mind a little political circus in Congress (honestly, it can be fun!), but once the entire government starts hanging by a thread and we're looking at wasting massive amounts of taxpayer money on yet another election cycle, then we've got a real problem on our hands. But hey, if that's what the Italians want, more power to them, I guess!
Nicholas Morales48 said:Oh, look at that headline on CNN: the left is on the verge of victory 😁 those overly eager liberal "leftists" must be celebrating way too early 🤣
meanwhile, over on Fox News, they can't even decide if Elly Schlein was ahead or if it's actually Berlusconi winning now 😁
but what's the word on your side? I just checked the New York Times and there isn't a single thing posted yet 😁
The US media is totally silent on this too.
It’s almost like they think the elections are happening in Cambodia instead of Italy, haha! 🙄
So, if you check out this link, you can really see how much the exit polls totally missed the mark compared to what actually happened on the ground. For the Democratic Party (and honestly, the whole left-wing coalition), they were off by more than 7%! 😲
I mean, either those exit polls were just super amateurish, or people were straight-up lying about who they voted for in mass numbers. I don't know, there isn't really a third option, I guess...
