Just a quick question in Feedback & Suggestions ·
So, I’ve been hanging around this forum for years now, watching all sorts of stuff go down, from deep personal confessions to wild reactions, seeing people jump in and out, some becoming mods or admins, others just sticking to being regular users, getting mad, then making up, and honestly, it's just one big cycle... but there's something actually eating at me here..

Okay, look, when it comes to the community, we’ve got absolutely everyone represented, which is awesome, but regarding how much influence folks have through moderation—or even overseeing the mods themselves—does anyone actually check if some of these moderators are totally wasted while they're on duty, and how much of that is actually tolerated?

Has there ever been a situation where, say, these drunken moderation sessions were happening way more often than... you know, what would be considered acceptable?

..or is it maybe just impossible to tell the difference between someone moderating sober versus someone who's had a few too many, so they just let it slide, especially if the mod has some high-ranking status or an official title, and it happens, but nobody wants to admit the mistake?
I mean, wouldn't you rather deal with a drunk moderator than a sober user making excuses about being stressed... is that just how the hierarchy works? Just small slip-ups for a massive site like this?

Seriously though, has anyone ever heard any rumors or gossip, like some kind of joke in the moderator lounge, where an admin or a mod tells their buddies... "Sorry guys, I was trashed for three days straight, handed out five thousand spam points, but I can't say that on the public board, so what's the plan, huh?"
Like, man, that's just life, right, the users probably won't care about a little thing like that... and then you get this huge official moderator announcement... ha, ha, ha! Like, "Don't worry about it, it happened to me once... don't sweat it, we've got your back, we're a team... it's not exactly right, but we'll stick together and figure out how to cover for each other."

I'm wondering, what are the actual experiences here? It feels to me... I mean, I think... that there used to be at least some warnings, like a mod showing up and saying... "My bad, people, I lost my cool, so now I'm gonna ban you all."

Honestly, I’d even find that kind of thing kind of funny, but at least there's a heads-up, so you know what to expect.

I mean, is there some kind of breathalyzer test required when logging in, or is there a real possibility that we're all relying on someone who might be going through a total withdrawal crisis right now? 🤷

I would love it if the site started a specific thread where the admins and mods could just post immediately after logging in to let their subordinates know what kind of state they're in—whether they've just had two beers, a whole six-pack, or maybe just that one morning shot of bourbon to get moving—you know, just so we all know what we're dealing with.

But what about the government? Or honestly... what about society as a whole? 🍿

Why was access to Schmokljan blocked? in Feedback & Suggestions ·
Jacob Allen? Or did Schmokljan actually get hit with a permanent ban? No way, right? I honestly can't wrap my head around who would be crazy enough to pull a move like that...
Who brings us gifts? in Close to Politics ·
Betty Palmer8 said:Over in Italy, kids actually look forward to receiving gifts from a witch named 😁 Santa Claus.

Kids honestly don't care about the specifics because to them, it’s all just one big, wonderful blur of holiday magic, like how they go from Saint Nicholas to the lights, then the little baby Jesus, then the Nativity, then full-blown Christmas, then Santa Claus, and finally that whole whirlwind of New Year's celebrations!

So, basically, they had some older stuff sitting around that was looking a little rough, so they figured they’d just roll out Valentine's Day deals to clear out whatever leftover junk was still hanging around the warehouses from Christmas, or honestly, maybe even some leftovers from last summer!

I was just sitting here thinking about how crazy things are getting... honestly, looking at how much earlier New Year's and Christmas sales start hitting the shelves every year, plus the way the whole global economy is constantly shifting and reacting to every little crisis, I really feel like we’re heading toward a massive calendar shake-up! It wouldn't even surprise me if market pressures eventually forced us to move everything around, like having Christmas fall as early as November 29th or something just to keep up with the pace of modern life! 🤷

Honestly, I think we should just go ahead and implement a floating Christmas holiday whenever it actually makes sense, you know? Like, instead of forcing everyone into the same rigid schedule, we could just shift things around based on what’s happening at the time, and there’s absolutely no reason why every single state in America couldn't just pick their own timing to suit their specific needs! 🤷
I mean, we’ve even got those massive summer festivals and street carnivals to look forward to around here!

So, get this—I was just walking through downtown, and I caught this absolutely precious sight in that whole pre-Christmas, high-anticipation mood we all get! There was this little group of kids, maybe around eight or nine years old, out on a field trip with their teacher. They were wandering through the city in these cute little pairs, making sure to hold hands super strictly, looking all sweet and orderly. And man, they were singing that "Deck the Halls" carol so loud and with such pure, fierce enthusiasm, you could just feel the holiday spirit hitting you right in the face!

We’re totally gonna tear Santa Claus apart!
La la la la la la la la la!

😁

Honestly, I can't help but wonder where on earth they even got that from, like, seriously, where did they hear that kind of stuff?! 🤔
Reddit on a world map (online community) in Feedback & Suggestions ·
Man, everything looks absolutely stunning and gorgeous, but I’ve gotta say, I’m not exactly thrilled with the setup. I mean, they really could have done us a solid by putting at least one little dot... maybe two, even a couple of landmarks on that tiny island just south of Reddit. Just a little marker for North Bay or maybe a small inlet, and then you’d actually have... you know, a North Bay or a South Bay area clearly defined.

Seriously, if they couldn't do all that, they at least should've marked a single waypoint or something so I can show where I'm wandering off to. That's it.

🙄
So, let me just totally demystify what’s actually going on here.

Look, the mods have access to the moderator PDF, but if that file was just wide open for every single person on the forum to read, honestly, hardly anyone would even bother stepping up to be a moderator. Period. 🤷

Look, I’m in absolutely no rush at all, but if you guys are seriously going to keep making these kinds of mistakes while rushing through the workload, then hey, go ahead and keep messing up if that's how you want to roll...😬

Why on earth is this bitter guy off-topic, trolling, and basically running ads on a thread meant for discussing Warsaw?
..And what kind of logic are we using where his posts get a free pass, while my responses to his totally biased little questions just get wiped out?

Either let everything fly, actually do your jobs, or just quit being moderators—especially when it comes to politics!

I reported three of his pathetic posts that ended up generating at least a whole page of replies, yet you guys deleted my stuff and left his untouched, so was it really necessary to push things this far?

Seriously, what is wrong with you people? I can keep clicking that report button as much as I want... do you honestly want me to do your job for you? What the hell is going on?

Angela Wright3 said:😂 😂 😂 😂 😂 😂 😂 😂 😂

The worst part—I can actually see them pulling in a ton of votes. 😢

We need the Republican Party, but definitely not this ridiculous crowd—not some convicted war criminal, not some shady businessman, and certainly not a populist like Eric Adams.

The Republican Party? Ridiculous? Well, what are we waiting for then, let's just vote for them! 🎉

I wouldn't be laughing so hard at this whole situation, which is professionally known as just plain old media manipulation, because I wouldn't trust the American press any more than I'd trust a bunch of political insiders. Especially when they start mentioning that one school of political... what was it called again?

I mean, does that college of political whatever even produce actual journalists? Seriously. It's like going to study geology just so you can try to become an astronaut. Okay, bad comparison, since not everyone who pays for a high-altitude flight is an astronaut, and politics isn't exactly a position where you get a better view of yourself. In politics, you really only ever see yourself from your own ego.

Besides, with that specific college, who knows whose interests are actually being served by this little stunt...

Anyway, that CIA trio that Tanya brilliantly labeled as the KGB (I'll quote her later) could end up with anything from a large enough parliamentary majority to wreck the government, all the way up to being a powerful opposition force.
The big question is how they’ll manage to convince investors of their financial credibility—basically, how much money will be poured into them and what kind of wild promises they'll make to those investors.

There's no doubt the CIA triumvirate (if they actually manage to play nice and split America among themselves) will turn straight to turboliberal capital and the gray areas of the business world.
One guy managed to divide what he inherited in America—well, at least a huge chunk of it. Now, they'll just have to carve up whatever is left and build a new empire of capital and quick returns, and if this trio gets enough seats in Congress, they'll do it without a single shred of conscience.
And they won't even need a majority for that; 25 or 30 percent would be plenty of leverage to penetrate deeper than a drill ever could. They'll basically hold the controlling interest.

So, knowing how crazy things get around here, there's a massive chance this CIA trio forces their way in.
What do they have to lose? Everything to gain! Especially since all three of them are currently backed into a corner.
It's just like what people used to say about Berlusconi. He had to jump into politics just to stay out of prison.

Everything depends on those three, and honestly, there's no telling if they'll pull someone else into their little organization.
If they strike a deal among themselves, we're looking at a campaign unlike anything this country has ever seen.

Go ahead and keep laughing... laugh at your neighbors who are actually going to vote for them. Eventually, you might even end up laughing at yourselves.

It'll be just like when Napoleon was closing in on Paris... 🥳

Alright, let me drop that post from Tanya here...

If you've got any other questions popping up, you're gonna have to take those straight to the site admins or the owner because I've totally done everything I could on my end to help you out.

alright, thanks!

System Restore has been permanently banned, and we're currently running checks for any clones, who will be dealt with exactly the same way as the original banned user.

Alright then, just keep doing your thing and keep those checks coming! I'd really appreciate it if you guys could stay super on top of this and pay as much attention to detail as possible, thanks so much!
graniteowl88 said:Honestly, I have zero clue what’s supposedly "uncomfortable" about this post.

I mean, if something is bothering you, maybe it's just because I've been totally influenced by:

Voltairean wisdom: "Sir, I detest what you have to say, but I will fight to the death to protect your right to say it."

..well, I feel the same way about my own views, and I'll definitely fight for them too..

The fact that you aren't getting what I'm saying is honestly pretty expected, and totally logical if you ask me..
Kevin Williams56 said:I'm really sorry about how this all went down—I jumped on it as soon as I saw his posts, but honestly, it looks like I'm the only one hanging out online right now.

Moving forward, if something like this ever happens again, I’d suggest sending a DM to all the policy moderators so we can get in the loop immediately.

Look, this post isn't even directed at me, but... I totally get it, okay? You can't always react instantly, especially since it's Sunday and you know how the whole reporting process works from start to finish... if anything, I'd say things actually moved pretty fast.

Still, I’d really love for the admins to at least try and figure out which moderators were actually active on the forum or in the politics section during that window, whether they were logged in or just lurking.

But hey, there are still some other big questions left hanging, and I'm telling you... we can't just stop here. Moderators—meaning you—you did what you could, but everyone needs to step up within their own roles because this isn't just a moderator issue anymore.
Kevin Williams56 said:Honestly, just filing the report is plenty! I wouldn't suggest you even bother replying to that, especially if you're planning on going full "factory reset" mode on them. 😉

For the FBI moderators—the issue is all squared away, so please go ahead and lock this thread.

Thanks a million!

Alright, before this gets shut down, I'd really appreciate it if one of the admins or someone in charge at the site could reach out to me over the next few days.

It’s seriously no big deal... I've just got a few things on my mind and I'm looking for some advice so we can hopefully work something out together. 🙂
system restore said:Not Americans, honey. I'd rather take you out. 😍

Look, sweetie, you can save all those cheap little logical fallacies for that loser from Trilla, who clearly couldn't find an American woman to marry so he just settled for you instead. 😍

..there we go, things are heating up..

So what's the move now? Are we calling the mods, or maybe even the cops..? 🤷 ..I mean, this is way beyond what a standard forum should handle, right?

..or maybe it isn't, and we're basically declaring that the games have officially begun here? ..honestly, I won't be satisfied with just watching anymore.

I am seriously dying to see how the admins at this US forum react.
system restore said:Americans are known for being such "heavy sleepers," honestly. They spent 50 years just drifting along in a dream because the old way of life lasted so long. Then out of nowhere, war hits—which was obviously started by Americans—and BAM!! In just four short years, 250,000 Americans completely vanished from the country. Problem solved, right?

Now Americans are back to sleeping through everything again, but let me tell you, once they finally wake up, you guys lurking around the cities might just vanish too.

Don't say you were never warned. 🙂

Hey, I’m asking the moderators and super-mods for their take here, because I really want to know if I should report this post or if I can just reply without getting slapped with some unfair penalty like that other one... you know, that one... over there..?

Or is the plan basically for me to reply to this post first, so then you can suddenly decide you need to hit me with a massive sanction? You know, to keep things "fair," so everyone can see how biased the mods are being.

Look, if this post doesn't get flagged within a reasonable amount of time, I'm gonna assume my response won't trigger any sanctions either, nor will the posts that'll probably follow mine, or my replies to those, and so on.

I mean, I just need to know for future reference.

And also, if this post I'm asking about is gonna get docked points or a few days of being banned, then I am totally going to reply, because if I'm gonna get punished the exact same way anyway, I might as well make it worth my while! 🙂
Admins, is there a grace period before we're monitored? in Feedback & Suggestions ·
Honestly, it’s just hilarious at this point. They seriously need to go out and write entirely new textbooks for traditional and formal logic because, oh boy, they’re already being drafted! It's some kind of totally made-up, "traffic light" version of logic.

Bryan Sanchez86 said:..so, the moderators are just total jerks, right?

I’m really not even surprised by Bryan Sanchez86, though. He just does whatever he's allowed to get away with, and honestly, I have no clue what the actual reasons behind that are.
I’m genuinely baffled by all the moderators and admins who just sit there and let Bryan Sanchez86 use them like some kind of wild card. Besides, I can't even tell anymore who is actually hiding behind whom!
I'm confused because I can't figure out if Bryan Sanchez86 is insulting the Forum members (in the name of the mods, apparently), if he's insulting the moderators by speaking for them without any basis, if he's being homophobic, or if he's just insulting the users by shoving his own twisted logic down their throats while simultaneously acting like some big hero for diversity!
..or is he just trying to play the victim? ..And doing it ahead of time, too?
You could definitely interpret Bryan Sanchez86's quote in a way where anyone else, anywhere else, would have been slapped with a ban immediately if they didn't have such a convenient excuse ready to go.
But hey, that's just how the logic works on this Forum.

Since Bryan Sanchez86 clearly identifies you guys as one and the same—my dear moderators and everyone else who thinks this doesn't apply to them—and since it seems like you all pretty much agree with him, given that... well, I don't see any real reaction here, Bryan Sanchez86 is just going to keep doing things his way using someone else's rules.
So, what am I supposed to think about you guys when you're defending against ad hominem attacks by using ad hominem attacks yourselves?

Well, if that's how you want to play it, fine... if you're that digitally obsessed, then don't get mad when people start looking at you as if... well, you're all just running on the Bryan Sanchez86 operating system.
Just like nobody forces anyone to be on this Forum, nobody is forcing anyone to moderate or be part of a body that can clearly do whatever it wants here.
No one is telling you, my dear moderators and admins... well, they're all the same anyway. You say that to yourselves.
Maybe you should all just wear the exact same uniform; that would be totally fair... both to yourselves and to us.
After that, you'll have your perfectly uniform Forum, everything will be smooth sailing, and the moon won't even exist when you look up at it.
