Not even gonna quote that sausage, but I guess I agree—this isn't some classified site or a dating app. People come here to hang out, debate stuff, and if they want, connect IRL. But you need actual participation in the threads first, IMO. If we cut that out, there’s zero spark left.
Like what Emily Patel70 said, having some common ground through discussions and shared thoughts is a prerequisite for any kind of relationship, not just two people being Lonely Heart.
Personally, I don't talk to clones. When I had Advertisements up, I wouldn't even reply to PMOve unless they were actually interesting. I don't care about them as people.
Same goes for people who have nothing to say about a single topic. Like, what would I even talk to them about IRL?

Most people think the same way. Look at yourself—you've got posts now, you've got this thread in your CVu. You've got opinions, wants, ideas... you aren't a clone. I can already see the introverts sliding into your DMs ;-)
Look, I'm not an introvert or anything, but I'm mostly just passing through when I'm on the Forum and I've picked up some solid friends along the way. Especially after posting that Advertisement about being bored 😁
. It’s not hopeless just because there are maybe 5 or 6 people here who constantly change their handles and whine about the same old stuff like they couldn't even hold a conversation with a brick wall IRL.

But yeah, Taylor Johnson37 really overcomplicated things.
I doubt they'll let that pass. Maybe an Advertisement thread, but even then, nobody seemed interested, even though the foodie group had a decent idea for one. Now those same people are just quietly drifting through the other two threads.
It really should happen, though. Truth is, everyone checks out the ad thread even if they won't admit it, and you definitely notice social ads there too—I’ve probably seen at least a dozen myself while browsing locations. But there's this nagging vibe that those threads are basically just bait. ;-)

Having a PPDF would be killer, with a dedicated ad section and space for discussion and meetups, but honestly, the chances of that actually happening are basically zero.😁
Smith won't hang out with me in Psychology & Therapy ·
First thing I gotta ask because it hit me immediately—are you just hanging out with him because you think his status will help you once you’re done with college? You don't have to answer that right away, just think about it 🙂

As for the question—I've got two cousins in the same city and two brothers, though one isn't around right now. I see that one brother maybe once a week or even less. With my cousins, I might run into them in town and it's just a quick "hey" and that's it. They don't act like they care, and I don't really feel like talking to them either. Just because you're related doesn't mean you have to be best friends. Family is basically just like neighbors. You don't get a choice in who you end up with. I don't buy into this whole forced bonding thing just because of blood, and luckily, my family isn't like that either.
I think I might be a pedophile. Help?! in Psychology ·
Just my two cents, and I might be totally off base here, but if you think pedophiles aren't afraid of kids, you’re probably just sexually frustrated and taking it out on the wrong targets. It’s kind of like when some straight guys who can't get any action end up turning into creeps because they're too scared to show their lack of experience to an adult, so they settle for a neighbor's ten-year-old niece instead.

So, amateur advice from me: just find a decent partner and blow off some steam. Maybe all this stuff would just go away.
How to walk away from a toxic relationship in Psychology & Therapy ·
aha, don't let him talk you into it again....it’d be like saying you should only see him once life totally kicks your ass, except this isn't even a long-term thing, it's just been a month and a half. You seem way too easygoing here and he's clearly taking advantage. As for marriage? Don't sweat it, man, he's just trying to get laid. He probably hasn't seen anything like you before since he's being so desperate to force a relationship with someone who literally told him she's not interested, just so he can win you over....whatever, I guess he's a real catch.
Once things actually go south, you're gonna be in deep and won't be able to shake him. If only you were more mentally stable, but honestly, he'll probably get what he wants long before you ever get justice.
