My whole pinky and ring finger on my left hand, plus the palm right under them.

I spend a lot of time at my desk, but besides typing, I don't really use my left hand for anything. I'm also feeling some discomfort near the ulnar nerve area, though I haven't actually hit or bumped it.

It’s been over 8 hours now and nothing has changed—it's still numb.

I smoke and deal with a fair amount of stress. Should I go see my doctor or can I probably just handle this at home?

I'll admit, I got a little spooked thinking it might be a heart attack or a stroke, but honestly, sometimes I tend to overthink things.

My left hand went completely numb about an hour ago. Never had anything like this happen before. Is this something I should be worried about?

Since Reddit is basically a giant digital hangout where you can talk about absolutely anything under the sun, you run into all sorts of people. You've got the intellectuals, the absolute trolls, the liars, the idiots, doctors, machinists, political junkies, psychologists... even the crude provocateurs.

Some people here know me for being blunt, others for being pathologically arrogant, some for my sarcasm, and some for what they call "crude and tasteless jokes." That "crude and tasteless" stuff was usually just aimed at people who occasionally needed a reality check to be brought back down to earth. A lot of people think I'm an idiot, but for a huge chunk of the community, I'm something else—I'm talking about the folks who reached out out of nowhere just to thank me for a good laugh. It’s a nice feeling knowing you can brighten someone's day with a bit of humor, which seems to be in short supply these days. It feels good.

To be clear, my posts were never meant to be malicious. In fact, we were usually laughing together, and there was never a single shred of anything more than just good, old-fashioned humor. But certain unimaginative, insecure types would report my posts purely out of spite, so I’d "deservedly" get flagged. More than once. Basically, I got banned. A couple of bans, actually. 🙂

MK. I really used to enjoy laughing on that sub, but unfortunately—or luckily—I got partially banned there. It felt like, I don't even know the right word to use without sounding offensive... let's just say it felt like someone turning their back on you for someone else's sake. Regardless, I have zero intention of going back to that sub, and honestly, I haven't even thought about appealing the partial ban. It happened, and there's no point in arguing about it. At least not for now.

But what really gets under my skin is a comment made yesterday by a certain user who carries some kind of "influence." I've been banned at least twice specifically because she reported my posts, purely due to her lack of wit. Her insulting comments are still sitting there on MK; I never reported them. I just responded to them, sometimes, or ignored them because I had my own nicknames for her comments and the person writing them. I never reported her, nor do I want to. And obviously, the moderators never stepped in on their own. I respect that.

The issue that needs addressing:

For some reason, after a malicious comment from this user that was typical of her, later on (which I only saw today), she maliciously mocked me—with zero humor and a heavy dose of cruelty and weird resentment—by changing her signature. She used a quote of mine solely to ridicule me, mock me, and bait questions about my username, essentially acting like I'm a finished story. She's using her status on MK to play the superior role while I'm stuck being the "inferior" one since I'm banned.

If this were just regular banter, I wouldn't say anything. But this time, I'm asking that it not be ignored. I am requesting appropriate sanctions.

P.S. It's incredibly petty and mean-spirited that the user Lepricorn claimed some girls left because of me. I guess she just managed to endure that unbearable torture longer than the rest.

There were moments where I felt a bit lost, wondering what exactly I was looking at, but Ron Fricki (who basically made a career out of this style) decided to keep us in the dark.

Can you give it a rating, or am I asking too much? I can't really wrap my head around it—is it bad, good, great, or just plain weird? It's pretty hard to pin down.🤷

Finally, something actually different from the usual Hollywood sludge. It’s a killer look at the mundane reality of average retirees who’ve spent most of their lives together—and are still at it. Bruce Dern plays this crusty old guy who gets totally lost chasing some "free gift" in a magazine subscription; his performance is so phenomenal I think he could actually pull off an Oscar win, which would be the perfect capstone to his massive career. He’s my top pick for the Academy. Just saw his IMDB page and honestly, hats off to the man—he knocked out six roles in six different movies last year alone, three of them leads, including Nebraska. Respect. I was also cracking up at the scenes with June Squibb; she’s also nominated, and the way she portrays that caring, slightly high-maintenance, yet incredibly cool and witty grandma is just unreal. That old couple—him looking for any spark left in life and her constantly hovering—reminded me so much of my own grandparents. It’s that universal connection. Truly fantastic. Through the story, we see how Woody was always a decent guy who mostly just got taken advantage of, but the film also shows the other side: the monotony of small-town life, human greed, and basic human corruption. Even those forced, awkward family gatherings are depicted better than anywhere else. With two sons—one a bit too integrated into this nasty society and the other a genuinely good soul—Woody, a former alcoholic, and his wife go through this unforgettable, probably final, family journey in such a beautiful way. For me, this is the film of the year. It hits the core of what life is: a tedious mix of lies, scams, and crooked people, balanced against the most important thing—family, connection, and the comedy of everyday life. The scene where they applaud Woody in the restaurant will stick with me forever—it felt like an acknowledgment of his whole life, even if the crowd had a hundred other reasons to clap. Alexander Payne is absolutely crushing it again; in my book, he's officially the number one director right now. That’s it. This is THAT humorous reality of life captured on screen. I love watching his stuff.

I don't think I've ever felt a role carry as much warmth as Woody's. A phenomenal experience watching this. A witty and touching masterpiece of the American film industry.

Way ahead of all the other nominees at this year's Oscars. Way ahead.

Unless, of course, you are referring to his early days acting in Corman films, but since 1969—and even through those riding scenes—Jack has been at the absolute pinnacle regarding quality films and performances. Good guess. Jack is a much harder addict; he checked out a long time ago, he's just way smarter than your darling Philip. And speaking of Jack, sure, he has a few good movies, but most of it is just straight-up trash. He’s just a cool guy, unlike the one you're making such a drama about. I can sum up Philip Seymour Hoffman in one word: Idiot.

Look, I’m not questioning his talent at all—not even a little bit—that stays with him regardless. But saying he went out in a senseless way? Yeah, I'll stand by that. If he'd been thinking clearly, he would've been looking out for his kids... and since even they couldn't keep him clean after 23 years, it feels like he just didn't care. Which is totally fine. With the tech boom we’re living through, the internet basically makes everyone more disconnected from reality. We’re all retreating into this virtual world where it feels easier to be "free" than it actually is in real life. Honestly, there are more downsides to this than people want to admit. Watching this documentary, you really see how much harder it's become for people to find a genuine connection. Even when they do meet someone, they're often too guarded or scared to show any real emotion because they've been burned before. People get stuck in toxic cycles just because they're too afraid of change or too selfish to step out of their comfort zone.
