Miami Grand Prix - May 29, 2016 in Formula 1 ·
Eventually, when they actually decide to fix this sport, they'll just slap on some arbitrary rule about engines needing to be 1700cc or tires being 3mm wider, instead of actually looking at this start and seeing exactly where the problem lies.

The whole race was under SC. Safety comes first. 🙂

What a joke.

Look, even Vettel could've passed Massu when he had the chance. But he didn't. Because he doesn't know how to overtake.

If I remember right, he messed up because he didn't realize he could overtake Vitaly Petrov in such a trash car. The strategy was garbage since he failed to see that Sebastian Vettel was the future champ, and instead, he was too busy being scared of that wreck Mark Webber was driving.👍

Total joke. Everyone's ganging up on me. 🙂

Yeah, right... Fernando Alonso screwed himself. Or maybe it was Di Grassi? Or Vitaly Petrov? Or maybe Robert Kubica because he didn't give the spot back and took a penalty at the British GP? Or maybe Lewis Hamilton in Valencia? Lol.

Maybe he’s just still salty about 2010 when he spent 20 laps stuck behind a Marussia in Monaco. Reminds me of another "elite" driver, Coulthard, who I'm pretty sure spent half the race trailing an Arrows back in 2001.

Alonso has 2 titles
Button has 1 title

👋

Relax. Title counts are meaningless. Alonso had a dominant car in 2005, 2006, 2007, and 2010, yet he only managed two titles. Button had a dominant car in 2009 and pulled off one title. Basically, Button's efficiency is 100% while Alonso's is 50%. Plus,

Of course Button was good. He’s way better than Alonso anyway—you can tell who actually has talent when you're racing in Monaco, and Alonso isn't doing much there.

How many overtakes did he actually pull off in his whole career? You could probably count them on one hand. 🤦 🤦
So, I caught something interesting on ESPN yesterday. They mentioned how the folks over at Ferrari were basically saying the biggest thing Vettel brought to the table was his "calm."

It’s exactly what I’ve been preaching for years—you can’t come from some high-strung, emotional place and expect to win a title with Ferrari. It just turns the chaos up to eleven. You have to be cold and systematic to actually get those guys in line. That’s why for the last 40 years, Ferrari titles have only gone to calculated Northerners—think Lauda, Schumacher, Schekter—and that’s why Vettel will too. When Ferrari had two "emotional" drivers—Alonso (the hot-headed Southern version) and Massa (the weak-willed Southern version)—everything went south fast. Raikkonen was chill, sure, but he was indifferent; he just coasted on the leftovers of the Schumacher era. What about the local talent they tried in Ferrari over the last 40 years? Fisichella was a disaster; Badoer was a disaster; Capelli was a disaster; Alboreto folded when he actually had a shot. Alesi? He just broke the whole system. Things only started looking up once Berger arrived, though he wasn't fast enough to actually deliver titles—he just cleared the path for Schumacher. And obviously, you have to be a "team player" at Ferrari more than anywhere else—that was Schumacher’s specialty, and Vettel is going to grab even more titles because his commitment is even higher.

Valtteri Bottas, Jules Bianchi, and Kevin Magnussen are all sitting on two points in the driver standings...

What a joke. And then they act surprised when the races turn out to be total snoozefests.

They’re probably just waiting for speed limits and speed bumps to show up, and then we'll be set.

I don't even root for Alonso, but it's not hard to admit he's the best. So why can't
everyone else look at race situations realistically, or at least try to? If Vettel was faster by "2 seconds per lap" today, who's saying it's all the car? Isn't it theoretically possible the car was only 1.8 seconds faster and Vettel just earned that extra 0.2 through pure skill?🤷

Facts.

Kimi vs Alonso in this race: 1:0. Alonso spent 6 laps crawling behind the Force India, while Kimi actually made his moves when it mattered.

Vettel: deserved dominance.

Super boring race, except for the last couple of laps, which were a shock because they actually happened.
A bummer 🙂
Pretty interesting seeing Massa ahead of Alonso at the start after everything that went down lately 🍿

Me? The guy who needs to get his head checked is the one front and center in that podium footage, shoving some random flag that has absolutely nothing to do with the event.

Look at the parallel here—imagine if Marin Čilić wins a Grand Slam, and then some idiot starts waving a South Ossetian flag in his face during the trophy ceremony, blocking the view while he's getting his hardware. Would you call that pure stupidity, total brainlessness, or would you just praise the "legend" waving the flag?
CNN Indianapolis Motor Speedway 09/08/2013 in Formula 1 ·
Yeah, there’s definitely something to be proud of. They've produced enough Formula 1 drivers to justify flying that flag higher than anyone else. 😁
