I'm still trying to wrap my head around why this one race was such a huge deal... if nothing else, it definitely showed that Lewis and Mercedes are going to have to fight tooth and nail for the title this year...

I mean, if you put anyone in that car, they'd be winning—didn't Russell prove that enough for you?

It looks like Schumacher's records are just falling one after another lately...--honestly, it's wild to watch!

I don't know—everyone keeps saying this is his year, anyway... at least that's the consensus!

Haha, Red Bull is such a joke right now... they're already pulling some shady moves from the very first lap...

Even if you look at the onboard footage—which makes it pretty obvious—both of them were going full throttle past Sainz while he had been sitting stationary on the track for quite a while now...🤔
Maybe—and I mean just maybe—Alonso zipped by Sainz before the flag came out (though that would be a massive officiating blunder since Sainz had been stuck there for ages)
but there is absolutely no way Hamilton passed Sainz without a flag. I mean, Sainz had been sitting there for well over thirty seconds by the time Hamilton showed up...

Is this based on some kind of guesswork sensor? 🤣

Give me a break...
So you're saying Honda has the fastest engine? If that were actually true, they’d be snatching wins for Mercedes in a slower chassis while those two battle it out... I mean, Lewis Hamilton basically had to carry the weight of the team just to deal with Bottas all season.

It really shows how much of a mess Red Bull is right now—they can't even make things work for both drivers; it feels like one of them is just there as a test driver...

And if it isn't this year, it’ll definitely be next one--no doubt about it.
shadowmarlin22 said:Faster on the track how, exactly?

More wins? Nope.
More pole positions? Nope.

More DNFs due to mechanical failures? Yeah, sure.

Honestly, it shouldn't be that hard to see why he let that championship slip away...
Look, there's no denying Rosberg had an incredible season, and credit where credit is due—he earned that title. But as usually happens, it all came down to the tiniest details.

Man, some of you guys just don't get how the sport works—maybe stick to the knitting forums instead! It’s common sense that staying at the top is way harder than actually getting there. Sometimes a driver like Lewis Hamilton just has a run of bad luck, but the point is, it happened once, and it's certainly not happening seven times...
stormybadger8 said:So, in whatever imaginary universe you're living in, Hamilton lost the title because of a blown engine in Malaysia, yet somehow he was "maximizing" the car in every other race to pull in even more points? 🤦

The only conclusions I can draw from this are:

A.) You're either a DMW clone or his younger brother who hasn't even started elementary school yet.
B.) You've never encountered basic math in your life.
C.) You don't know the first thing about Formula 1.
D.) [censored]🙂

With a dominant beast like that Mercedes, especially during the early hybrid era, winning wasn't "maximizing the car"—it was a total cakewalk...
The competition outside of Mercedes was practically non-existent. At the end of the day, Mercedes had 20/21 poles and 19/21 wins that season.😳

Look, the 2016 season had 21 races, and the gap between first and second place was only 7 points. Lewis finished 19 races, while Rosberg finished 20.

Now, go ahead and explain the math to me: how does finishing 19 races with a 7-point gap mean Hamilton "maximized" everything else so much that he suddenly lost less than the 25 points he supposedly missed out on due to that busted engine in Malaysia?
🤦
If we follow your logic, Helio, 19 x 7 gives a massive advantage...
And yet, according to you, Hamilton lost the championship by just 25 points?
Since when is 133 less than 25?
😵

I've read plenty of nonsense on this forum, but this is hands down the stupidest take I've ever seen.🤦

Man, you just keep dropping these ridiculous takes—honestly, it feels like you're just nitpicking tiny details now just to distract everyone from your actual bad logic... you might as well just call it quits at this point.
shadowmarlin22 said:Hold up, you actually just tried to compare his battle with Valtteri Bottas to his fight against Fernando Alonso. Look, I’m sorry, but just stop—unplug the router and walk away. 🙏🙏

He gained that advantage on the undercut purely because of the tires, just like everyone else who pitted.

As for 2016, Lewis was basically squeezing every ounce of performance out of that car, which is why he walked away with more points per finished race. Honestly, his engine blew up in Malaysia, while Rosberg didn't have that issue once, and that's how you lose a title. If that hadn't happened, he'd be an 8-time champ by now...

Eh, but it's not like Mercedes and Toto were rigging things... only when Lewis wins, right?
All in all, yesterday really showed us what Formula 1 would look like without Lewis Hamilton...
Amanda Kelly said:I’d throw 2005 into the mix too.
I've always felt the McLaren was actually faster than the Renault that year.
Alonso beat out two massive talents at McLaren (Kimi + Montoya), which makes that title pretty damn impressive.
IMO

Give me a break... Klien got unlapped by him in the Red Bull because Alonso was just playing it safe—he clearly didn't want to get into a real scrap with Kimi on the track.
ruggedhawk20 said:If there hasn't been a single shred of evidence found in 26 years—then there isn't any. Period.

And hey—now people definitely won't be digging up anything else regarding poor Schumacher. The guy just had terrible luck, honestly.

As for Flavio, we all know how he intentionally sent little Nelson Piquet into that wall. Is that also considered an attempted murder, like you mentioned in your last post?
ruggedhawk20 said:So you got actual proof that the software was ever even turned on?

Or is your "evidence" just the word of one single witness claiming he heard a certain sound.

That lone witness happened to be dealing with an unproven, unofficial assassination attempt fueled by revenge at the time, plus he was under official investigation for physically lunging at Eddie Irvine—facing a potential 14-month suspension.

He never even saw that suspension come down, though, because he ended up dying after a messy accident in a Formula 1 race car.

If it looks like junk and smells like junk—well, there's a pretty good chance it actually is junk! — I learned that the hard way when my old Ford broke down in the middle of nowhere last summer. 😁
Kenneth Cruz67 said:And let's not forget he's been testing for Mercedes since 2017. It was actually his very first time ever getting behind the wheel of a real race car. Honestly, it's almost like a Cinderella story unfolding in small steps.
